Beware... The only reason all the reviews are positive is that if you post a negative review she calls and asks you to remove it. She was pushy with products, after a few visits I felt obligated to buy some. They absolutely did not work for me (i actually broke out in a rash), after some online research I found the line of products she sells are not hypoallergenic, they contain known irritants and have so-so to poor ratings. A lot of people have the same reaction I did. I called to ask if I could return them. I was told no! Upon a negative yelp review I got another call telling me I could return the products if I removed the review. Shadyyyy! Not to mention shes just generally rude and blunt. Please dont bother calling me again, this review stays up! Amended in response to Svetlana's comment: Dear Svetlana, your photos are plastered all over yelp, I am absolutely certain it was you, I went to you more than once. (for anyone doubting me, you must sign in when you go to the building on sutter street, take an elevator up and Svetlana uses the GM collin line of products and has a thick russian accent). You also called me over 4 times from different numbers and have sent me threatening yelp messages. Come on now..... read more

I have been going to Green Apple Skin Care Salon for waxing services and skin care products for about a year now, and as long as I live in SF I will be coming back. Svetlana is a darling; always professional, friendly and has an unbelievable ability to always fit me into her schedule. In addition she is thorough, meticulous and she always asks you if you are happy with the result before you leave the salon. The salon itself is conveniently situated in down town San Francisco and it is clean and has a great atmosphere. As awful and painful as waxing can be, it is amazing what wonderful experience Svetlana makes it. Her skincare line and skincare advice has done wonders for my face and I do not want to live a day without those products. I would warmly recommend Green Apple Skin Care Salon to anybody. read more

I just called to attempt to use my groupon and the woman was terribly rude to me. She refused to honor my groupon despite the fact that it has not yet expired, and she lectured me on waiting until the last minute. She refused to honor even the amount that I paid for the groupon toward the overall balance. Unacceptable. read more

Svetlana is amazing!!! She is very attentive to details with individual approach to each person. My skin was shining with happiness after her treatments! Absolutely love this place! read more

Fantastic brazilian, because it's honestly a lot less painful than my usual (at silk on franklin). While I question the liberal use of the word organic on everything, the fact that it's a hard wax is probably what makes it better. Svetlana will be all up in your business like it's nobody's business, but hey, she's thorough. The only complaint I had is that the whole time she kept trying to sell me her products. Literally every time she set the wax to dry, she'd walk over to her shelf and walk back with a new product to try and sell me. Don't forget to check Trubates for the $35 coupon if it's your first time. read more

As usual, I wish I could give 3.5 stars... but I just can't quite spring for 4. I recently moved to San Francisco and obviously have to start re-building my list of go-to places for Brazilian waxes. I am kind of a deal whore, so I purchased a discounted wax through Trubates. The salon itself was nice and clean and felt professional. Svetlana used hard wax for the majority of the Brazilian, which is nice because it hurts less. She finished up with regular wax to get all of the shorter hairs, which I am totally fine with. Overall, I felt like it was a very thorough wax; however when I got home I noticed she missed a pretty big patch, which drives me CRAZY. I realize that I probably need to examine the area more thoroughly while I'm still on the table... but come on! Anyway, I will give her the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to an honest mistake. Svetlana said she would email me if she was ever offering any specials and I would definitely go back if she does. Sadly, its just too easy to get a deal on a wax for me to pay $65 every month for a wax. read more

Lana and her G M Collin line are fantastic! I've been diligent about taking great care of my skin for many years, have tried and used countless products and had facials and skin treaments of all kinds. I also eat well, take nutritional supplements and exercise, and it's all paid off. So when I went to try her, my skin was already in excellent condition, and I was somewhat skeptical that she could do a whole lot more to improve it. How wonderfully wrong I was! Lana, her facial treatments and skincare products have truly taken my skin to a whole new level of radiance and health. The products themselves are not only highly effective but simple and easy to use, absorb beautifully, feel great to the skin and definitely maintain the effects and benefits of the periodic facials. A big plus is that they cost less, in general, than most high-end dept store face products. And the facials.... they are heaven! Lana has magic hands, the utmost integrity and sensitivity, and really knows and loves what she's doing. I always feel marvelous and rejuvenated after I've seen her. I've had so many compliments about my skin's appearance since I started seeing her and using the products. More importantly, I can see and feel the difference. This is skin care and wellness of the highest order. I am thrilled to have found her, and can't recommend her highly enough! read more

The most painless brazilian I've had, period. I'm a huge fan of Svetlana, she's professional and extremely through. The location is prime and the atmosphere is soothing and comfortable. I'm pretty sure that I'll be going back to try out her facials. Two thumbs up. read more

This is my favorite place in a long time to be introduced to. I am absolutely in love with Svetlana!!! She is spunky, gorgeous, youthful and a walking advertisement for her services (her skin is amazing!) I went in for a Brazilian and was so happy with her services. I used to live in L.A. so for those of you who did as well, you know that L.A. pretty much sets the standard for brazilians and bikini waxes. This lady did such an amazing job. She used hard wax which was so much LESS pain and it was efficient and she was friendly and made you feel comfortable. She does an amazing job and even mixes her own soothing oil to keep your skin soft and unirritated. I have NEVER felt my skin so soft, ever. I love her and her price is worth it! I will definitely be coming back! read more

Green Apple salon is one of the hidden gems of SF. Sveta is by far the best facial care specialist I have ever visited, and trust me I've been to many. She is a seasoned professional as she's been doing facials for 2 or 3 DECADES. I have oily acne-prone skin that is hard to manage. With Svetlana's facials and products by GM Collin it now looks much better. Her services and products are not cheap, but well worth it. My $115 facial lasted over 90 mins and included: * makeup removal * deep exfoliation * steam WITH NATURAL HERBS * thorough extractions * TWO masks (calming and anti-bacterial) * high-frequency treatment * hand massage with nourishing oils * high frequency treatment * neck and shoulder massage * toner and moisturiser It was a sheer indulgence. My skin felt and looked fabulous the next day. I refer all my girlfriends to Svetlana, and they rave about her. read more

This one is from my mom: Some people try to learn a trade and do it, while others have a gift. Svetlana was born with this gift. After her facials and massages, I step out feeling ten years younger. From the moment you enter her office, her good vibes put you in state of complete relaxation. Although she uses high quality products, I believe Svetlana herself is the difference between a good salon and a great one. Her friendliness and positive energy and special touch make my day. One of the other great features is that she's located in the very center of downtown, right by the Stockton and Sutter Garage. This way, I can take a nice walk around, do some window shopping (or shopping), grab some coffee and make a whole day of the visit. read more

My boyfriend treated me to a surprise deluxe facial for my birthday on Wednesday. I had been talking about getting a facial for like the last year, so he really does listen! He found Green Apple on yelp and saw all the stellar reviews, so he called Svetlana to book the appointment (first-time clients also get a 15% discount). Anyway, Svetlana was awesome. Her space is small but very clean. She made sure I was comfortable and then we talked about my skincare goals. She explains the products as she is applying them to your face and tells you how they work. Since I hadn't had a facial in a few years, she had to do a lot of extractions but it wasn't too painful. Then she played some relaxing music and gave me the most wonderful face, shoulder and neck massage. At that point, I was catatonic and she left the room for a few minutes. Just as I was about to fall asleep, she came back in and I figured that was the end but no! She had me sit up and gave me a brief upper back and shoulder massage! Wonderful! Svetlana wasn't pushy about purchasing her skincare products but she did explain that they are much better for your skin than what you'd buy from the drugstore, although more pricey of course. It's obvious that she takes great pride in her work and really cares about her clients. She called my boyfriend the next day (since he was the one who made the appointment for me) to ask how I was feeling! I'm going to call her back to tell her how wonderful the facial was and to book my next appointment! read more

I've been going to Lana's salon for a while now. I keep coming back because she's amazing in all aspects. Starting with wax - her brazilian technique made it as pain free as possible when I first came. Her facials are best ones I've had so far. Lana talks you through the process and explains every single step so you can repeat it home. And what's more important, she does an excellent job for a reasonable price which is a rare thing now. I highly recommend her! read more

I went to Green Apple Salon to get my facial done and i was pleased with the results and whole procedure. Great experience, I'll definitely go back to Svetlana! Highly recommended read more

Having found Svetlana almost a year ago I understood this was gonna change my attitude and care for the problematic skin. Looking at myself today I can see the result and it is revolutional! On my first visit I was told that I have severe acne-prone skin type. I've gone through many deep cleansing facials with Svetlana. After 8 or 9 of them, Svetlana recommended me derm renewal chemical peel from GM Collin that consists of 6 sessions(!!!the 6th is free btw!!!) which helped to remove scars and pigmentation. Now my skin looks much smoother, shinier and has no spots and damages left from endless extractions! If you have a problem like me don't think you can get it done with a couple of facials only. Acne is a disease which takes a lot of time, efforts and money to get rid of. You only need the right approach to it, I have to praise the Lord I've found Green Apple! All Be sure to call for an appointment a few days in advance - I think she was booked solid these days, and for a good reason! read more

I am definitely a permanent client! I've been going to this place for about a year now and this is my first review of this spa. I've been happy with the services since my first encounter at this spa. I booked my first brazilian ever at this spa and to my surprise it was not as bad as I thought (awful videos on youtube). She uses super high end wax that is for sensitive skin and formulates her own oil to minimize the redness. After a few visits, I added on more was services and I am now a regular monthly customer. I like that she is not pushy at all! She is very thoughtful and super customer service friendly! She is accommodating when emergencies come up and I need to switch my appointments. She's usually always booked a week out, but she always makes an extra effort to fit me in. I started using her skin care products (which is the same price as my department store brand skin care) and it gives me AMAZING results! I have completely switched over and I love that she knows my skin type so that when I book a facial (which is a yearly thing for me), she knows exactly what to do. I am happy to personally vouch for this business. Her integrity is what keeps me coming. read more

Green Apple Skin Care Salon is so great. I have gone to Svetlana three times now and it is always an amazing experience! She is very friendly, professional, and does great work. Svetlana actually cares about your waxing experience and wants you to feel completely satisfied with it, making sure she goes over small details and even takes the time to give me some tips on how to take care of my (post wax) area. She also uses hard wax, which is a must for me. It is less painful and is less damaging on the skin. The space is very clean and cozy. Came here not only for a wax but also for a facial. Svetlana always uses only high quality products and technique. And she gives free samples helping me find the best product for my skin. I would definitely recommend her and will be going back! read more

Guys, this is the most anxiety-free experience you will ever have. Clearly the best wax I ever had done. Lana is an extremely smart, talented and meticulous professional. I am a regular customer in Green Apple Skin Care Salon. I do in regular basis facial which by the way is the best in Bay area, San Francisco. I am very grateful to Svetlana, she helped me a lot with my face and she is still doing it, but today I want to write about how she does Brazilian Bikini Waxing. I did it already twice and I am going to do it again and again. I did waxing in so many different places because I wanted to find the right one. Svetlana told me that her waxing is not going to be as painful as others and I trusted her. She was so right! Svetlana's wax is the best of the best!!!! I didn't feel pain or discomfort and the wax is such a high quality. I highly recommend Svetlana's Waxing services. read more

I am so lucky to be her client! In this craziness you can't see your favorite aesthetician, but you still want to look good with home care. I run our of my products and didn't want to purchase with Amazon, since it is so easy to get a "fake" there, so I contacted Svetlana, and she was nice enough to send me my products right away! Can't wait to see her when we are allowed! read more

I found out about Green Apple Skin Care through yelp and because of all the good reviews I decided to give it a try.Unfortunately, my experience wasn't that pleasant. At first, when I met Lana she looked like a charming woman and experienced professional who knew what she was doing. The salon looked neat and clean; Lana was also very attentive: when I was taking my clothes off for the waxing she asked me whether I was comfortable and if I needed any extra napkins. She also used hard wax that made the procedure less painful. Everything went well until the next day when I saw that there were bikini areas where the hair didn't get removed properly. I have developed severe irritation after the procedure even though Lana assured me that the oil she used would leave the skin smooth and reduce discomfort. I've been doing Brazilian waxing for a while and it is my first time when I got so many ingrown hairs. I'm not sure whether it was Lana's poor language knowledge that resulted in our miscommunication or she is just not experienced enough in waxing. Lastly, most of the time that I was at her salon she was trying to sell me her facial services even though I told her that I have my own esthetician whom I've been going to for years; she even attempted to sell me her products which I clearly wasn't interested at. I feel very disappointed after this experience and the next time I'll definitely look for a more qualified professional to do my bikinis. read more

I want to update my review again. I have been extremely satisfied with the chemical peeling (6 sessions) that Sveta suggested as a follow up to extractions. After only 2 peelings I can walk in the street without having to put on tons of makeup. I have been going to Svetlana for over a year now and can see a noticeable improvement in my skin! YAY!

The first time I went to see Svetlana it was totally last minute but she was able to fit me in somehow. My boyfriend was helping me in a rush and found her website online and showed it to me. I called and she squeezed me in the next day. Which gives her already a two thumbs up for being flexible. The first time I went to Svetlana it was for a brazillian. She makes you feel completely comfortable and eased into it. It can be an awkward experience, but it is never awkward with Svetlana. She talks to you about the procedures she is doing, what tools or wax she is using, and how to take care of everything after the procedure. She uses a hard blue wax which is much less painful. She makes sure she does a thorough job. She did an amazing job the first time! She is the best you will find. I also got my eyebrows and upper lip done by her. I have never gotten either waxed before, but it was virtually painless and she again does a thorough job and makes sure that you are pleased and asks for your input. Svetlana has turned me into a regular. In the past 5 years, I have not gone to the same person twice. I have had brazilians all over california, from LA to Santa Barbara to SF. And I say she is the best I have ever come across. She does wonders at a decent price. Green Apple Skin Care Salon is definitely a secret gem in the city. Svetlana cares about her clients and really engages in them. You aren't just money walking in and out the door with her. You get quality from her. If you are looking for a quality, trustworthy place to go, see Svetlana and the Green Apple Skin Care Salon. She is a miracle worker! I would give her more stars, but there aren't any more stars to give. A++ read more

When I decided to get my first Brazilian, I spent a couple days researching different salons. I decided on the Green Apple Salon and am very happy that I did. I was very nervous and a little scared, but Svetlana talked me through the entire process. She told me what she was doing and what I could expect. I thought it was going to be pretty painful, but it was nowhere near as bad as I anticipated. The atmosphere in the salon was very relaxing and helped a lot. I totally think she's worth the $65 she charges. I will definitely be going back to her. read more

I have an old friend L. who had a problem since she moved to the US, the climate did not agree with her, and she developed BAD acne. She moved from Florida to California, but BAD acne did not go away. So after not seeing L. for several months, I opened the door, and there was L. acne free!!! I called Svetlana the next day to see if she could help me with my problem skin. She did, over 4 months before my wedding my skin had gotten much better. Now 3 years later I wouldn't let anyone else touch my face. Svetlana does wonders with my skin. She does offer GM Collin products a lot, and honestly they are great and relatively affordable if you compare to other non drug store lines. I tried the products without monthly extractions, and extractions without the products, I definitely have better results when I do both regular extractions and use the products she offers. Svetlana can ship it to my home for free, I just call to place an order with her. I can't stand any bikini waxing, my hair is very thick and very dense, I scream bloody murder no mater what, my experience with hard wax down there was probably better than previous ones but I decided to do laser and forget that the bikini area hair ever existed for me. I loved her eyebrow waxing. P.S. I love sesame candy she has in the reception area, yum. read more

Best Brazilian in my life ! I tried couple times before at other salons and I couldn't take it without tears , pain and no desire to come back. I have to admit Lana is a pro. First off Svetlana is amazing! I've always had problem skin and after one facial and consultation from Svetlana on appropriate skin care products my issues have disappeared. Perhaps my favorite bit of information to share is that she will make time for you. My first appointment was made the same day and Svetlana stayed open just to squeeze me in, which is wonderful for those moments when you realize you really need a wax and don't want to wait along longer than necessary! My advice to you is to go see Svetlana -- you'll find out yourself what a gem she is, plus Green Apple Skin Care Salon is super convenient to get to via public transit. read more

This review is long overdue for Svetlana. I've had my fair share of facials and waxings, but she is the best. Gentle and meticulous. And she keeps you distracted, while doing Brazilian, so you don't pay attention to what's is going on down there... The results are purely amazing! read more

I have been going to Svetlana for a Brazilian for almost two years. She does a fantastic job, and my hair has been growing back finer and more slowly ever since I've been going to her. I have a very busy work/life, and she always finds a way to fit me in. I couldn't recommend her more highly. read more

I initially saw Svetlana for my first manzilian wax. Since this was my first wax of any kind I was understandably a bit apprehensive, particularly as I was starting off with a manzilian. Well, as it turned out everything went great and I was very pleasantly surprised. To begin with, Lana's salon is conveniently located in Downtown San Francisco. It's a nice art deco building with a stunning lobby. I've been to this building many times before for other services, so I could identify with the surroundings. Next, her waiting room is quite nice. It's comfortable and tranquil. There is a small fountain on a table with a relaxing sound of running water. The room where the waxing/facials are done is extremely clean, neat and professional looking. There is room to move about, so it's not a cramped space. Soft, soothing instrumental music plays which really helps one to relax. When Lana greeted me I found her to be very pleasant. She's professional, well mannered and friendly. She did not appear hurried or rushed and she provided me with plenty of time catch my breath, undress and prepare for the procedure. One of the best things she did was discuss each step of the process with me so there was no ambiguity on my part. Any questions or concerns I had, she gladly took the time to answer them. At various times during the waxing she asked me if I was comfortable and if everything was ok. Lana really cares about the welfare of her clients. Additionally, an excellent quality wax from France is used to do the brazilians. It's designed for sensitive skin, so that irritation is kept to a minimum. It's really a good product because it helped keep the waxing virtually free of pain. When the procedure was over, Lana asked me to look over all the areas that had been waxed to see if there were any stray hairs that remained. Again, no rush. She was willing to stay as long as necessary to get every remaining hair I could detect. My satisfaction appeared to be her top priority. After this, she massaged the area with soothing essential oils to alleviate any irritation. Thus, I wholeheartedly recommend Green Apple Skin Care Salon for all your waxing needs. Svetlana is friendly, knowledgeable and reliable. She's terrific! read more
