From the moment you walk through the door, you're met with that quintessential Cotswold feel--low beamed ceilings, warm wooden floors, and a cozy, intimate atmosphere that works just as well for a relaxed lunch as it does for a intimate dinner. It's quaint without trying too hard, and you can feel the history in the space. The staff are genuinely cheerful and welcoming, adding to the overall experience without being overbearing. Service flows naturally, you order your food and drinks at the bar before heading to your table. As for the food, it absolutely delivers. What a beautiful stay at The Porch House at Stow in the Wold. It was truly a memorable stay, as if…read moreit were out of a movie. Check in was a breeze and oh so glad I had an overnight bag as there is no lift. The accomadations were just wonderful, from the comfy bed, the linens and the available drinks. We enjoyed Dinner in the Hotel's restaurant (we did have reservations) and it was memorable. The morning breakfast service and available choices were a delight and such attentive service. I must add that this Hotel is located in one gem of a town and one I will definitely be revisiting. Parking can be a pain, but definitely worth it.

Burford has significant meaning to my group so it was a must visit for us while in the Cotswolds…read more Since we hadn't eaten, he chose The Angel at Burford for us, which operates as a restaurant and hotel. It's a nice pub and establishment. When you enter there's a bar and some cozy indoor seating with natural light. Nothing fancy. There's also a wonderful outdoor patio, which is where we sat. There's two floors to it and most of the seating is covered. The service by workers were all friendly and nice. We ordered with them then paid at the bar. We shared Duck and Orange Pate. It was thick, tasty, and complex but well balanced. I had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich--the mixed leaves were tasty, the chicken crispy, and honestly it was a filling sandwich. I would say I'd like more in between the bread but it did fill me up. You've got plenty of pub options in Burford, but we quite enjoyed our time at The Angel. It's off Witney Street and a nice place to dine!

I know that great grandfather's back millennia helped build the Burford bridge over the little river that's at the foot of high Street and so it was fun seeing all these places and having lunch there and thinking about my families connection to the town. Burford is considered to be the gateway to the cot waltz. The cot walls has an old area that has changed for a little over the hundreds of years and has amazing architecture and houses and farms. It's surrounded by rolling Hills and Dells and little rivers running through it. Burford is considered the gateway to the cot walls because it showcases several styles of very old architecture. that's still an excellent condition. If you have questions about what to do while you're there go to the Tolsey house. But I have to say there is no question that when I got there And it was lunchtime that I selected the angel at Burford to eat the fine food that they serve there. The staff quality of the food everything was amazing. I will return time and time again.
