We were able to wait until the morning to avoid the middle of the night call out. Ricardo promptly came out and inspected our dinosaur furnace and told me the bad news - broken ball bearings and holes throughout. Ricardo did a temporary fix to keep it partially running while we d schussed options for a new furnace with Curtis. All correspondence was answered promptly via email and Curtis was available by phone as well. A-1 offered to loan us free heaters in the interim as well. We ended up going with a 2 stage high efficiency and an AC coil for future AC install. The quotes were provided via email with links directly to the Bryant website to view the most current information. I can't remember the name of the next gentleman who came out but he was on time and professional. We were really happy from start to finish with the service received. Never debt pressures to buy bigger or more expensive items and things were explained to me in a way I could understand. There were a few hiccups when all was said and done but everything was handled with grace and I feel confident in the service received. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Curtis or his crew for any of your heating or cooling needs. PS locally owned and operated in St. A for +40 years! PPS When my 5 year old needed to go potty today and we were in the strip mall next door, we popped over and were greeted with a smile and a cheerful yes to letting my son use the washroom (which is a big thumbs up in my books!)

The technician arrived on time, was courteous, professional and seemed to be competent. After about 30-45 minutes he told us that we needed to replace the heat pump and that it could not be repaired. We paid the service fee of about $200 and asked that they send out someone who could give us a estimate to replace the heat pump. 2 days later another technician came out, and gave us an estimate. Again, he was on time, courteous, professional and friendly. I mentioned the need to replace the heat pump to a friend who lives in our building. He mentioned another company and so we called them to get an estimate on replace the heat pump. They came out, and looked at it, asked some questions, did some maintenance and the heat pump is working! No replacement needed! Getting this 2nd opinion saved us literally thousands of $. We are so grateful for the other company and will probably not call Acclaimed! again for a repair - since either their technicians are not competent, or they tried to sell us something we didn't need. After I posted this review, the owner of the company apologized for the misdiagnosis and offered to refund the initial service fee. He was very polite, listening and we had a good conversation. He handled this with grace and so much better than other owners. I'll raise my rating to a 2 from a 1 because of this call. It was appreciated.

When nothing worked, I turned to yelp to find a well-rated company. I tried several but Acclaimed were the only ones to answer the telephone or e-mail. The technician was personable and arranged for a technician to come next day. I'm accustomed to repairpersons arriving at the end of the time window but Ed arrived right in the middle. In less than two hours he found our problem - a failed electrolytic capacitor. Great to have working air con on these hot July days. I might have given Acclaimed the full 5 stars but I thought they were slightly pricy. On the other hand they did respond quickly to solve our problem. Maybe sometimes you do get what you pay for.

We moved from a condo into a house and it took 4 hrs 45 minutes with an additional stop to a storage location. It could have been 4 hours total but we got detoured with a free sofa that turned out to be awesome and now sits in our main living room! They require you to have your mattresses in covers/bags and they'll rent them to you for $19/each or you can buy them from Canadian Tire for $10 each. My one piece of advice would be for them to sweep/clean their moving trunk regularly. After they left I kept finding small pieces of broken glass which came in from the bottom of their shoes.

Also to replace missing tiles blown off the roof and to check over all the roof to make sure there were no more issues. He gave me a reasonable price, broken down for different steps, and fixed the leak immediately. I was very happy with his service, and knowlege. The nice thing about this company is that they will take on a small job of fixing- many companies won't even call you back. When he came back a few months later, (after I'd saved up some money for the rest of the job) he picked up a 14 ft 2x6 for me and repaired a spot in the side of the garage roof, for a nominal cost.
