I'm from RI and I've been looking for boneless batter chicken fingers and I finally found them!!!! That's what we are used to in RI and Mass. I couldn't find them anywhere in Philly nor NJ!! I finally feel at home also that chicken chow mein is just like Rhode Island in Massachusetts and it's to die for so this is my number one place to go to. I recommend it to everybody. It gets a 10 star in my book. Well, I told this business they lost a longtime patron today. I was angry! About a month or so ago, their ordering procedures changed. Seems as though they have a new younger staff & possibly new management. They did not get my delivery right so I phoned to tell them & they said I could come there & they would make the correction. The only thing is I'm disabled & have been calling in to place my orders for quite a while. Then they charged me an additional fee for using my card over the phone which was never done before. They did not inform me as a customer they would be doing that. Guess it's time for a new place of business. No star but had to give one so I can write this review. Can't deliver on time. Called in a order at 830pm. They said 50 mins. Going past 10pm and still waiting on my order. I spend over 80 dollars worth of food. all they give me is a free drink. Other places would give me free food. worth the wait and money. Never order from this place again. read more

Wow! This place certainly surprised me. We picked up a quick dinner here and expected just mediocre "Chinese" food. For Americanized Chinese food this place is awesome! The price is great. The food is hot (even by the time we got it home) and full of flavor. The proportions seem larger than other similar establishments. Don't let the outside of this place fool you. I like this place and enjoy many of their items. The people are beyond nice. Delivery is never fast. Just don't stutter or repeat yourself or you will get two of what you want. lol. I tried but I can't. Was a frequent customer, but then they got 3 strikes. First, I watched them deliberately do something with my food, after it was ready to go. Second, busy night, my food missed the container and started to fall out onto the table where I guess they prep food, so the guy dumped it back in the wok, tossed it a bit and tried again. And after waiting them out for a while; I ordered and asked them not to put whatever it was that I saw her put in my food the first time; I could tell they didn't care about the order at that point, and even after eating some. This restaurant provides lunch specials even late at night (Just be sure to ask nicely!). Great Wall may lack style on the outside but once you've had a bite of their Roast Pork and Mushrooms, it'll have you craving for more. When inside, you have an amazing chef cooking brisk-fully and an amazing lady taking your order. My service at the Great Wall Kitchen was absolutely wonderful. I had trouble with an order and the kind lady happily replaced my food in its entirety. You see, I tend to only write reviews for things I OBSESSIVELY LOVE AND ENTHUSIASTICALLY RECOMMEND or things that I'd select having holes born into my head before voluntarily experiencing again. It makes me seem so hot/cold, but I can't bear to give Great Wall Kitchen less than four stars. On a coast where tremendously greasy, chicken-of-the-sewer food is lauded, Great Wall Kitchen is the epitome of delightfully priced, surprisingly tasty fare. I've only ever ordered delivery, so I cannot speak to the look of the place (which, I admit, significantly affects ratings for me), but the food really is delicious. Also not commenting on use of oil or MSGs, etc...but I'm not really looking for organic when I get a hankering for Chinese. Lunch prices are unbeatable, and other than having to speak slowly and repeat multiple times (lest you get the wrong order...twice -_-) you're betting on a winner with GWK. read more

I normally am very understanding.... but this was just unacceptable... I ordered at 7:24 and it arrived at 8:52. The delivery guy was very apologetic so I still gave him a tip but I will never order from this location again. The food was cold and oily. I am so annoyed. read more

I have been a patron of Great Wall Kitchen for many years and, even though I'm not crazy about Chinese food, the food that I have purchased has been fantastic. I love the fried wings; they are not greasy and are well done (which is how I like my chicken; I don't want to see any pink/red when I eat my chicken). I also like the fried fish and chicken with broccoli. My Daughter and her Sons lived with us for a while and when they moved, the Boys continued to come back to Great Wall. When my Sweetie moved in, he began ordering from Great Wall and enjoys their food as well. A tip: when ordering take-out they tell you 10 minutes; give them at least 20, they are that busy. read more
