This place is the best Chinese food within an hours drive, or maybe two hours. The wonton soup is fantastic. I've never been disappointed by any of the low mein. I usually get the sesame chicken and it usually is still crispy and delightfully sauced. If you need Chinese and you are tired of being disappointed in the Jacksonville-New Bern-morehead area, stop in here for consistently great Chinese. read more

Having a home on Emerald Isle, I have eaten here many times. For fast Chinese, it appears to be a bit better than other fast food Chinese. Egg rolls are very good and the shrimp are big and fresh. The staff is really nice. Great for take out. Dishes are big. Should have given it 5 stars for faster Chinese read more

Every time I vacation at Emerald Isle I come to this place. Service is great, food is prepared fast and it's tasty. One thing they should consider changing should be the rice they are using to make their fried rice. It's little soggy and not as flavorful. Other than that price is low and food tastes great. I would still come and eat here if they don't change their rice. read more

We were so happy with our take-out order from the Great Wall! We had a big order for a large group and it was ready in 15 minutes - the staff even gave us a free liter of soda. Amazing service and delicious food! Will probably be a new tradition to order from here every year when we visit. read more

On a recommendation from Yelp we tried eating here. The food and quality of food is so much better that the other 2 local Chinese food places in the area. Our order was correct, the food was crispy no soggy and the staff was very friendly. read more

Great Wall - Chinese Near Me - Emerald Isle, North Carolina

2017 summer visit was excellent so I ordered from them, today, summer of 2018. Review is for take out: The Szechuan chicken tasted like sweet and sour sauce with ground red peppers thrown into it, it was more sweet than the spicy flavor that one would taste in the Szechuan style. My take out container had maybe 6 pieces of small chicken but plenty of veggies both overwhelmed by fried rice. General Zso's chicken was dry. Hard to mess up both of these two. My memories of this tasty restaurant just went south. read more

Got take out. Was about what I expected. Compares to most every other take out Chinese I've had. Will go back again!

While vacationing in E.I. the family wanted some good Chinese food. The Great Wall did not disappoint. Some of the many good dishes as part of our order were the crab rangoons, sesame chicken, and chicken lo mein. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the mood for Chinese while in Emerald Isle! read more

This is an amazing place to go. Such nice service and tasty food. I would DEFINITELY recommend this restaurant and I will be coming back many times in the future! read more

5 stars for food, 5 for service, 2 for facility: Kinda gross, a couple small Formica tables, dirty bathroom. Relatively low sanitation rating. The staff is friendly, helpful, even sweet! Food is very tasty and surprisingly not greasy. We had shrimp and chicken lo mien (VERY good but could have used a few more veggies), Mongolian beef (Very tasty), and chicken Mu Shu (again missing a few veggies - and 'shrooms). But considering this is a beach town, VERY GOOD!! read more

Quick and friendly service. The food was a mixed bag of take out. The egg drop soup was thin and not very good. I threw most of that away. I had the sesame chicken and enjoyed it. The sauce was essentially the same as the General Tso's sauce. I know this because that's what my wife got. That was better than Tso-Tso. Sorry. My wife got two egg roll and says they were the best part of her meal. I also got an appetizer. I got the fried dumplings and thougt they were verry good while the dipping sauce may have been the best of its class. In conclusion, if you have a hankering for Chinese while on vacation go ahead and give it a try -- you get plenty and it's well-priced.just don't expect to write home about it. Yelp review maybe but not a letter home. read more

Typical chinese restaurant, hard to understand the staff but they are super nice and the food is GREAT. Love it.

Great Wall has great food! Best Chinese restaurant in this area and it is so convenient. We've had take out several times as well as eating in the restaurant. Every time it has been great. Family has owned for 9 years and you can tell they care about what they serve. Save the trip over the bridge, eat hear on the island. read more

eggrolls were the only thing edible, the rice was not even close to Asian fried rice it looked like zatarans yellow rice from a box, the general tsos chicken was disgusting and I only managed a bite of one piece, the beef and broccoli was so fatty my husband spit his out and we threw it in the trash, Ive had better Chinese food from the frozen section at walmart. read more

This is a solid choice for coastal Carolina Chinese food. American style. (And by that I allude to: crab Rangoon, General Tso's Chicken, etc.) The restaurant, located in Emerald Isle., is easy to find and is good for take-out, or very minimal decor eat-in. The food was ready quickly (15 minutes) and our order was correct. We tried the egg rolls and the spring rolls. Both were crunchy and plump. Lots of filling. Very good. The beef with broccoli was standard. The Kung Bo Chicken was spicy, as per our request, and very good. Lots of chicken and veggies. The General Tso was ok, but the golden rice with it was 'meh'. (I'd skip this one.) My son got the Lo Mein and liked it. Lots of chicken and a good sauce. The noodles were not overcooked, which is important. The shrimp with lobster sauce was more like a soup. But it had huge shrimp in it and good flavor. Got a positive rating from the crowd. Overall, a good Chinese take-out with reasonable prices, fast service, and friendly service. We will order from them again. read more

Our family of four had 1-chicken w/cashews & egg roll, 2- sesame chicken w/lo mein, 3- large shrimp and chicken Hunan style. The food was tasty and priced fairly at $36 w/tip. I know this is short, but hey, it's accurate and I wanted you to know about our experience. Give 'em a try. read more

Great Wall has great food! Best Chinese restaurant in this area and it is so convenient. We've had take out maybe 5 or 6 times. Every time it has been satisfyingly good. Family has owned for 9 years and you can tell they care about what they serve. Save the over the bridge trip and eat here. read more

For fast Chinese food this place is pretty good. Pretty much the typical food fare on the menu. Everything we got was good with no complaints. read more

The spare ribs are nice and juicy. The wonton wrappers are still firm vs the mushy mess you get many places. The bean curd in Szechuan style was excellent. We will be back! read more

Best chinese food in the area. They can spice it up, if you like it that way. They have quick and friendly service. This is my go-to for a delicious and fast dinner. read more

Good Chinese food. It's hard to come by on the coast. The Singapore noodles were very good, as was the orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The scallops-in-garlic-sauce was light on the scallop, heavy on the broccoli, but still decent. Hot and sour soup good, wanton was just okay. The broth wasn't so great. The fried noodles for the soup were fresh and crispy. They were polite, helpful, and punctual. We'd order again. read more

Great food and excellent service with a smile. Singapore Noodles dish is my favorite. Absolutely delicious and they'll do it to your liking on the spices ! read more

Fabulous restaurant for the price. Great flavor and fresh seafood. Ordered out one night while on vacation. Got 4 dinners for $32 and it was more than enough to feed 2 adults and 4 children. Had leftovers also. read more

Love this place. Their seseame chicken and hot and sour soup are outstanding. They're so nice too. I will not go anywhere else.

We ordered General tso, won-ton soup and pork fried rice. The chicken was cold, the breading was mushy. It was inedible. The soup was very salty. Ended up throwing it away and out $19.11 read more

Very good Chinese food. Much better than we expected to find at the beach. Everything we got was excellent (especially the dumplings). Only thing we found lacking was the fried rice. Wish we had y'all back home as it's better than any Chinese restaurant there. read more

Extremely friendly service, nice little family business. Food is pretty good for what it is, but a little light on the meat, otherwise portions are generous. Great egg rolls and pretty good size! read more

Very quick to make the food and it tasted great and the portion sizes gave us leftovers for 2 days. Will definitely return here.

Ordered takeout while on vacation. The cheese wontons (aka crab Rangoon) tasted like they were made with fresh crab. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. It was decent Chinese. read more

Stopped in for some take out. 2 lunch specials with egg rolls were a little over $13! Not bad! And we have plenty of left overs as well! My grandmother got the sesame chicken which is her favorite. I love chicken and hot garlic sauce, but wanted a little beef mixed in today. Will be back when I can! read more
