Wow! The Orchard on the Brazos forever changed my life. After years of mental abuse, emotional…read moretrauma, PTSD, depression, a suicide attempt and alcohol/drug abuse, I now have a new appreciation, perspective, and outlook on life. Today, I live with gratitude, dropped my attitude and realized my ego is not my amigo! I showed up mentally/spiritually drained, I needed a change. My life had become unmanageable, and 'my way' simply wasn't working for me anymore. I remember thinking of, Brooks from "Shawshank Redemption" writing "get by busy living or get busy dying." My new journey started on 7/1/2020. I remember being scared, not sure if I should trust strangers, opening up Dr.s and counselors, group therapy. I was skeptical; however, I was told to "trust the process" and "take it one day at a time." Immediately, I felt at home and surrounded with love, aww struck by the sheer beauty of the ranch, houses, amenities and staff. This was my first trip to a Recovery Center. In fact; a few of the residents mentioned this is the nicest facility they've been to (one of them had been to 10 facilities across the nation). The counselors and therapy session helped me unload years of baggage I've been carrying. Bags of guilt, shame, remorse, anger, and confusion weighed me down to the point where I needed Xanax, Sleep aids, alcohol, marijuana, just to function/survive. I realized the only way this is going to work, is if I'm 110% honest and real with myself; otherwise, this would be a waste of time. Plus the Dr.s and counselors could read through any bullshit one tried to get past them. This is what I needed. To get real!! To listen for once and stop getting in the way of myself! Everyday at the Orchard was a learning experience, the group sessions flowed with ease, sometimes emotional but that's where our group came together, empathized, loved, supported, or related to the topic on hand. The staff is amazing, stellar Doctors, greatest technicians, sweetest nurses, speakers, and great chefs who provide a wide variety of excellent food, juices, and a salad bar that competes with Jason's Deli! In fact; the meatloaf, it's so good you'll want it again tomorrow. The property itself is breathtaking. The houses are all completely remodeled with comfortable beds/rooms! Great AC, hardwood floors, beautiful furniture, a real southern rustic touch of Texas. Today, I live a righteous life. I'm so blessed to be alive, I live with gratitude and a new appreciation for life. For the first time in 20 years I'm living with inner peace. I'm helping others. I'm discovery myself and purpose daily!! If there's one thing I regret... it's that I didn't stay longer!! Trust the process, take it one day at a time!! Best advice and it was given to me on the first day.

Anyone that has anything bad to say about this establishment is honestly just full of shit or still not ready to receive the care, open armed love, respect, and help that I was so lucky to receive. The General manager at the detox center is Mr. Court Nichols. He is a genuine, caring, and loving guy. He cares for us as individuals not because he gets paid to but because he is one of us. Sometimes the best kind of love is tough love and he is willing to do that for us as people, patients, clients, users, and abusers. If you ask me, that's more than enough to motivate someone to want to change for themselves, family, and loved ones. Wherever my journey may take me I know I have Court Nichols, Ryan Davis, Tommy and Kristi Taylor to thank for that along with the psychiatric hospitals that I've been in and out of since I 19. remember to stay up and keep praying everybody. I love u guys. -Kaylin Mabrie.

I never gave a review on the others, but this place is different. The admission was easy, and they will assist with essential outside appointments and transportation. This is his first time giving the holistic approach a chance and he seems to love it! He's heard the 12-step group talks and big books talks so much in the past that he could probably teach a course without guidance, and yet it never sticks... the holistic approach is helping him heal, mind and body. Love that they allow pets. He is a dog lover, and dogs help keep his anxiety and PTSD down. This, without question, his helping him on his journey to recovery. Thank you to the Skyward team!

I was treated with the upmost respect and kindness while still understanding that I was there to get well. From the receptionists, to janitorial staff, they all played an important part of my recovery. I have to give a shout out to Zac the V.P. who counted it not robbery to come out and fellowship with his clients, rather it was planning a 4th of July event or hanging out with us a the Movie Theatre, he was all in! Into Action Recovery Center (Houston) planned events that nourished our minds, souls and physical bodies. So from me, Dan Jackson you receive three thumbs up and five Stars!!!!! Last but certainly not least, I have to make mention of IARC's phenomenal Medical staff who very patiently nursed me back to health, and my two guardian angels, Nurse Lori and Nurse Lisa who watched over me at night over on the sober side of things. Nurse Lori who always had a song in her heart and a warm smile no matter what day or time, and Nurse Lisa who was always willing to listen even though she knew that half of the time we were making stuff up, but she never stopped loving and listening. Again, from me Dan Jackson to IARC, Three thumbs up and Five Stars. Sincerely, Daniel Jackson, Sr.

I was done wrong by the director Kimberly Isaac. One night she called me and asked me to leave the property because I was not supposed to be at work one night, or so she thought. She asked me if I needed to be drug tested because she assumed I showed up on the wrong day. I quickly sent her a screenshot of my schedule she made and she called back and claimed she was at the ER dealing with family. She stated she made a mistake but the damage was already done. I left like she asked me and later that night she sent a text and an email stating I was terminated. I was terminated the same day she asked me if I needed to be drug tested. I know I was fired to prevent having an investigation successfully completed. I have all the screenshots with proof and I sent them to HR. I still have yet to receive the proof, write-up, time, and date of the alleged person that I showed unprofessionalism. Steven H. (human resources) also stated that I was terminated due to an unauthorized schedule change and unexcused absences. I requested the information on that and never got a reply. Please believe the bad reviews on Google. They are true. The turnover is high because management is dirty. When I first started working there I was asked to write a good review by Kimberly. And I did. But I took it down. There are reviews from former and current clients which were done because they were asked to do it. Including the review about Meagan from JV. She told him to do it. I would suggest to not work for this company. I wouldn't even suggest bringing your loved one here if you want honesty, integrity, and genuine love and compassion from these people to your loved one. Let's first talk about the work environment.#1 The lines are blurred in the roles here at Taylor. There is no constant person in charge, people may have a title but their roles and responsibilities change daily. #2 schedules are verbally communicated. There are no posted papers in the office with a schedule, no schedule in an app, nor a written schedule for all to see. Schedules are verbal and this leads to unwanted shifts, employees not being prepared and employees being confused causing stress and a hostile workplace. #3 Employees are distributing medication without being certified licensed, nor being supervised, and proper audits are not being done and noted. Now let's get to the good part. If your loved one is a heroin/fentanyl/opiate addict and they come in distressed, Kimberly Isaac has a stash of Suboxone she has tucked away when clients are "on edge" She will distribute them or have Meagan, the "med tech" give it to them. Parents, or loved ones of addicts, do you want to send your loved one to a place that enables their use so that they can collect on your insurance? Number I know you are reading this and just know God sees everything and he will deal with you because you know what you did. And I hope one day someone shows you how you have tested me and maybe you will feel it. You are a liar, a terrible liar at that, confrontational, and should not be in the business of helping other people. You genuinely don't have the heart for it. You are cold and soulless and with that being said I would never want to be around you or have anything to do with you ever again. How would you feel if someone did your daughter how you did me? I reached out to the owner Kristi Taylor and never got a response. *update- This happened on March 31st, 2024, they are just now implementing a scheduling system, and today is April 11. Before today it was verbal, but I always backed up my confirmed schedule with text messages from the director*****

After that my phone was taken from me even after I was told that I would have my phone and I would be able to answer and message from my pregnant wife. I was refused the phone and told to wait in the front so she could figure out what was going on. I was out front when it just got uglier and more hateful. I was smoking a cigarette little did I know I would never be allowed back in or given my phone for 3 hours of basically begging. At this point I was afraid for my safety because of the constant gunshots going off right across the street. No once did I even sign a paper in the Houston facility but I wasn't allowed to get anything. Not even a drink and on top of everything I live ten hours away so at 1230 am when I finally got my phone and I was frantic and upset they didn't care they gave me my phone and a charger nothing else. Finally got a ride to a hotel (no uber driver wanted to pick me up in the neighborhood) cost 400 dollars and even as I waited for a driver I wasn't allowed to wait inside where it was safe. To be completely honest I'd rather go back to prison than ever step foot into a facility with these hateful woman in charge. God bless you if you have to deal with them. Also one more thing the neighborhood is so bad the firefighter that was at the scene for an injury told me to get the f out there if I wanted to stay safe.
