There was beauty and tranquility with every step on our stroll. We spoke with the lovely Mary S Garden and she inspired us to complete our garden at home. Mary was so knowledgeable and friendly and not only answered all our questions but gave great advice on horticulture, composting, and much more. All the staff were friendly! Take your time to stroll and look at all the beauty surrounding you at every turn. Leave your worries in the garden. We will return with family and friends and highly recommend John P Humes's Japanese Stroll Garden to ALL! Thank you to the North Shore Alliance for preserving this garden!

I would suggest coming closer by opening time or you have to wait for a car to leave - There is 2 porter potties near the entrance - It's quite a small space - takes about 15-30min max to leisurely walk around This Japanese Stroll Garden is located in Mill Neck. It's quite a small area of land compared to the parks/preserves in the area, but while you are within the bounds of this garden, it feels quite peaceful/zen. It is designed to mimic that of Japanese Garden. The details of the wooden cross bridge, abundant bamboo trees, stone lanterns/water basins, the pond and the Japanese tea house located in the middle all make you almost forget that you are in NY and feel like you are transported to Japan for a moment. It's a really nice escape while taking in the sights & having a casual stroll. Although I do suggest a visit once, I don't think it's worth the trek coming all the way here just for this (just because it only takes 30min max). It's a great detour while having other things on the agenda to do around the area.

Various artists perform in their bandshell and they also have movies and other activities; check their summer schedule to see their many offerings. My favorite of the annual concert series is the fireworks night! This is usually scheduled on the Friday either before or after the 4th of July; with a rain date, in case of bad weather. They usually have a concert between 7-9pm, with the fireworks immediately after the concert. If you ever want to see fireworks up close, this is the place to see it!! But be warned:. It can get pretty loud! Lots of fun for the whole family. Amazing fireworks!!

I was able to find parking easily in front. The village has 2 hour free parking which is perfect since open play is 1.5 hours long. First impressions, the location was very clean. I loved the look of the open play space. There was a small space for infants/crawlers and the main play area had so many options. The colors were beautiful chosen and the play was safe and clean. My toddler (2 years old) enjoyed climbing all over the play structures, the swings and all the toys in the space. Timing: there are multiple times available for open play listed in their website. We booked the 4pm slot which I think is a great time that is usually not offered at other play spaces. The 4pm slot offers a great open play time after nap time and before dinner time. It also gives parents who are working to do something after work which was really nice. The space had many cubbies to put your shoes and bags. Make sure to bring socks to participate in the open play. You will sign a waiver online prior to entering the play space. They have a private room within the play space for parties. I loved the dedicated/separate space to have pizza and cake. Amity Play Cove is a family business - I met the owners when we went yesterday. We loved the play space and definitely will be back again. definitely check it out!!

Kind of wish when I was a kid they were around to be a birthday party option...talk about the extra cool gift that friend would get simply for offering such a fun, physically and mentally safe place to challenge oneself. Okay so I'm a thrill seeker at times and like to challenge myself, so whether with friends, dates, strangers or self I'm in for fun where I can get it. This location even has auto belay wall areas, so if you didn't think you or your friends were strong enough to keep you right, or you just wanted to challenge yourself as a solo adventurist, you could do so very safely. For those that want slightly more of a challenge and trust their gripping skills, definitely check out their bouldering walls, its totally worth it. From someone whom has climbed elsewhere i will say their wall designs/setups are definitely challenging, so learn to understand the # ratings so you don't get discouraged, just keep working the angles and you'll get it. If not their staff is super top notch and happily will help you along the way if needed. For a newer location I'm loving the openness and cleanliness, even more so here post re-opening in COVID 2020 year. Encourage all to definitely give them a try, you won't regret or forget the experience(s).

There are different levels of rock climbs with pulley systems. Now again I don't know much about the sport but, more than the pulley area there were differentiated areas with spring floors and no pulleys, a tilt wall with light up rocks (definitely for the advanced) and a gym area simply to work out. Near the entrance there was an old cubby area as well to store your stuff and snackies to purchase as well. Overall a great first time experience. They offer an all day pass as well if you want to pop out to peruse the mall or grab lunch and come back. Had it just been two of us I dont think I would have lasted the full hour and a half. It's been 24 hours since the visit and boy my forearms are definitely feeling it. There are also some sitting areas for people/parents watching.

You can also purchase a 10 pack of tickets at a price of $35 for the general public and $25 for members of the Long Island Children's Museum. The carousel has been restored to its former glory.
