I visited The Book Trader a few days ago. What an experience!…read more First of all, they have every type of book imaginable. From cookbooks to sci fi, from fantasy to biographies, from adult romances to children's picture books! You could find books from the 1600s all the way until the 21st century. The Book Trader is exactly what its name says: it trades books. You can bring books, which they will give you store credit for and then you can buy books for cheaper than they would cost in a regular store. This was such a great idea, in my opinion. I traded in 2 books and bought one. Now, aside from being separated vaguely by genre and authors' works being mostly together, there is no other sorting system to this store. Books, as you can see in my pictures, are all over the place and it is very hard to walk around parts of the store. If you want a specific book...good luck! Also, make sure you have cash on you. The store only takes cash and checks.

I'd expect to see this bookstore cafe in somewhere like in Ogunquit, Burlington, Bar Harbor, Austin, or Asheville? Super cute place with an interesting, eclectic selection of used books. They have a little coffee shop/cafe at the front - and there's an area where they have talks and live music on certain days. The people who work there are so incredibly friendly and helpful. I think there's a cute little outdoor area, but it was closed last time I visited. Hope to drop by here next time I'm in Staten Island!

I loved the selections here, and the ease of navigating the place. The cafés in adjust right location so you don't feel pressured to drink coffee unless you actually want to. What I also like about it is the crowd. Everyone here seems like they're actively shopping for a book, not just using it as a place to sit around, which is something that I've encountered at other Barnes & Nobles. The staff should also be commended on how helpful they were. Everyone over here seems to take their job seriously, and go above and beyond in helping you find whatever it is you're trying to find, or answering whatever questions you have.

I have been to the new location exactly 3 x since it opened. The main reason being that because I am handicapped and cannot walk , getting to the store is a hassle. There is no parking nearby and crossing that street is dangerous. There is not even an entrance from inside the mall . I don't know who made the decision to move but it was a bad one , so hard to get to and much wasted space in front and can't even be dropped off there anymore. I love bookstores and buy many, many books but now I have resorted to buying them from Amazon online .

My sister and I received a warm welcome when we walked in so we immediately felt comfortable. It's a small yet comfortable bookshop where you're surrounded by so many different books, toys, merch, etc. It was a quick stop for me since I already knew what I wanted, but I can't wait to re-visit and spend more time diving in on what they have. I would love to bring my little cousins here too, so many adorable children's books. When it was time to purchase, of course I couldn't leave without a tote bag which is amazing quality btw! I heard a few people brining in books to sell as I shopped around and it was exciting to learn about the kinds of books they were able to accept.
