I had Anthony come to level my yard to align with an existing drainage system and install sod. Most of the sod install was completed well, a portion received no top soil and is very uneven. They even laid sod on top of piles of leaves. After repeated phone calls to correct a lazy drain pipe fix he returned but did not complete a fence post installation. We also really liked our landscaping at first, however, several of the perennials that were planted and a tree didn't even make it 6 months. I had been searching for weeks and obtaining multiple quotes for white vinyl fencing but I figured I would get one more quote before making a decision. And I am glad I did! In April 2021, I signed a contract with Anthony to install a paver walkway along the side of the garage going into the back yard connecting to an existing concrete patio, install two 3' x 6' high vinyl gates and remove and replace a brick window well that had collapsed in the front of the house. The contract stated the installation date to be 3-4 weeks. I called Anthony several times after at least a month had gone by to check when they would be doing the work. Each time he indicated that he did not have all the needed materials (understandable during the pandemic). After about 3 months had gone by, I finally heard from Anthony on Sunday, July 18 informing me that his crew would start the work on Monday. When Anthony and his team showed up on Monday morning, Anthony instructed them on what to do. Anthony was only at the job site for a brief amount of time before leaving and not returning until the job was completed. Unfortunately, because of a language barrier, it was very difficult for me to communicate with his team when I had questions. I ended up having to call Anthony on his cell, who then called his crew to relay any questions, concerns, or instructions. I felt like I was in a game of "telephone". During the entire three days that his crew worked, Anthony did not stop by once to check on the progress. At one point I heard a lot of banging, and I went outside to look only to realize that they had demolished the wrong window well. I immediately called Anthony and he said that they would install a new window well to replace the one that they demoed by mistake at no additional cost to me. They then proceeded to make a wooden form to pour concrete to make the replacement window well. They began to pour the concrete on top of the Romex electrical wires that run to driveway lighting fixtures. Again, I had to call Anthony to explain that our contract stated that the new window well would be constructed from cinderblocks to be topped with the brick taken from the existing well. And both window wells should be the same. Anthony called his team and told them to remove the cement that they poured and make the window wells using cinderblocks, however, by then they had taken away the brick and now we had to settle for pavers. The paver walkway and fence gates were installed without any major issues that are worth going into detail except for the fact that we didn't receive the paver sizes we had requested and the lock to the gate was installed on the wrong side. I chose Greatescape based on the reviews I had read which were very good, but I have to say the quality of the work during installation was not what I expected. There was a definite breakdown in communication between Anthony and his team as far as what was stated in the contract and what was actually taking place. Although the overall result is satisfactory, the amount of stress, aggravation and what seemed to be a breakdown of communication between Anthony and his team, makes me very reluctant to recommend them. read more

The fence was installed, and for this they get one star. It was finished when it was getting dark out, and I was so happy to get a fence that I gave Anthony and his workers generous tips. When daylight came and I inspected the new fence, I noticed with disappointment that some of the materials were not what I paid for, they were obviously mismatched parts. Also, where they drilled into concrete for a couple fence posts, they caused cracks to form and they refilled the holes in a very sloppy, rough looking way. Before the job, I had been told this would be refilled to look like new. I called several times over the weeks following the job being done to ask for the correct parts to be added to my fence and the concrete to be fixed. I was told they would do this but they kept giving delays and excuses, so finally after waiting months, I gave up. Since end of July 2016, Anthony would tell me that he will return the next week to finish but never showed up. This continued to occur week after week until mid - October 2016. Anthony kept giving excuses for not finishing the job: "customer cancelled the job in my area so he cant come down, he cut the wrong posts size, etc.." In mid-October, after much frustration, I asked Anthony for a refund for the unfinished job and he agreed to send me the check right away. However, the results are the same. Anthony says its in the mail but I did not receive. He continues to give excuses for why the check has not arrived: "hes been sick and had some delays in mailing, he mailed it to the wrong address and it bounced back". It is now 1 1/2months that I've been waiting for a refund check in the mail. I trusted that he would honor his agreement. It is now mid- November 2016 and there is no finished job which was fully paid for or my money refunded. What Anthony did is wrong, dishonest and unethical. I will not be using him for future jobs or refer to my friends. Anthony, In response to your comment. There is no confusion here. In July, I agreed to pay you upfront under the agreement that you would return the following week to finish the job. It is now 12/22 and I still have not received a refund check that you claimed would send.
