Had a bad experience here a few years ago with a fairly new, young tattooed 'stylist'. Totally uneven and horrible cut as I noticed when I got home. Immediately went to Fantastic Sams in the small plaza up the road and had been going there ever since until it closed for whatever reason early this year.
Stopped by Meijer midday late last week in the midst of errands. Seeing it empty, decided what the hell, and stopped back in. I cut my own hair before a family wedding was to take place in August after watching some YouTube tutorials. Did a half-assed, but surprisingly passable job to get me through, but definitely still needed it fixed.
Patti attended to me for the requested wet-down, cut-and-fix with no blowout. I really didn't style it out till this morning after I did a much-needed re-dye of my hair. It was apparent she fixed it up really well, following my particular requests, and I was pleasantly surprised at the results. Even my husband said it looked good later in the day. Not sure if Patti is a longer term employee, but hopefully so. I would definitely go back to see her again. Especially for a cut that was less than $15 out the door (outside of tip). Plus I got coupons for discounts on return visits for the whole family.
The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I did not get my hair styled (blown out). I have had many experiences where I may get a good cut, but a stylist does not know how to straighten and style my type of hair (thin, wavy, frizzy, curly all at the same time) with a blowdryer and appropriate use of prep product. read more
