I made a request when booking my appointment that I wanted the best stylist whom could do a fad on hair and beards. The team member whom took my appointment assured me the stylist I was assigned was a new graduate and new all the trends and techniques. My stylists was very new and had to stop to ask a more experienced stylist for help on technique. Again was content with the look when all was done but the bread trim and hair cut did not meet what I was looking for the 40 dollar charge. Based on their reputation I am sure this Salon is solid, just not for what I was looking for.

Firstly, I have never had someone start our appointment asking me what I liked and disliked about my hair and she genuinely listened to me with no judgement but complete compassion for who I am and how I felt about my hair. Little did Mel know that my hair is actually very touchy and emotional subject for me. Mel did more than cut my hair, she spent SO much time styling my hair and showing me how and why she was doing what she did. She took my thin, flat hair and gave me volume I truly did not know was possible for me!! She saw me! As a person that just wanted my hair to look nice, and she left me actually feeling pretty. My hair looked the best it has ever looked (even better than my wedding day)! This was my first time sitting in Mel's chair and the first time in anyone's chair in over 5 years, but I know Mel and the wonderful ladies at Trends are going to have you walking out feeling good about yourself and not just your hair. This place has been here for well over a year. It's slowly gaining more popularity but I generally like it because it's less busy than other locations. The manager April is fantastic. Knows my husband and I by name when we walk in. Her hair cuts are always spot on. She's friendly and you can tell she enjoys her job. Tammy has also been at this location for a long time. She's one to say it like it is and has a huge personality. But this is good! Not a bad thing. She's very nice and outgoing. Her haircuts are fabulous too. I've had haircuts by some other stylists here other than April and Tammy but my husband I agree they are the best. But I've never gotten a bad cut. I try to use my app to check in. This way I know how long the wait will be and it puts me on the list so when I walk in I don't have to wait long. They are no pressure with selling products but are happy to recommend.

The last visit we did an online check in for one boys cut, called to give the girl we wanted a heads up that we did the check in & would be there in 30 minutes as it told us. When we arrived she finished up her previous client & then without a word took her lunch break !?!? So we sat, and sat, and sat. When she finally was ready the same person who did a great job the first time did a HORRIBLE. My son looked like the blonde guy from Dumb & Dumber. The hair on his forehead was a straight line angling from just above his left eye brown to almost his hair line when got to the other brow. We won't be back.

Her new location on University Ave is spacious, clean, and quiet. It's nice to be the only customers when we stop in. There is a second chair in another room, but we haven't been in when they're both working! Kristy is professional, talented, and very kind. A coworker with amazing hair raved about her and gave me her info. Though I used to change stylists frequently, I haven't left her for years now and will follow her wherever she goes. She is professional but fun, she doesn't rush you, yet she's very fast. She does the best platinum I have found and I completely trust her cuts, she knows my style. I like to experiment a bit and she's always up for it and always executes it perfectly. I call these years with her my "good hair years". Can not recommend her more highly!
