Bad bad bad. Got a cut with clippers on the side and scissors on top. Got a rushed cut where she kept leaving to checkin customers and then got a real quick trim on top. If my cut is six minutes start to finish you really aren't putting forth the effort and it shows. I'll never come here again. Plus the whole setup was bizarre. I have been going to this great clips for a few years now. The hairstylist are amazing. Heather is the best, I always request her. But the last couple of times I have been there I have witnessed the manager on duty, specifically the one today 2/22/25, has been very rude to the stylist in front of customers. This is very unprofessional and takes away from the enjoyment of getting my haircut. I hope something can be done to address this. I brought my kids back to Texas from Minnesota to visit grandparents and their uncle. My son has been growing out his hair to donate and even though it was already long enough before we left, he didn't want to cut it yet. Our first morning here, he commented how he wished that he'd cut it because it was sooooo hot. I said, we can cut it here and he took me up on it! I looked at a couple other places with longer wait times, my dad said what about Great Clips? We checked, 24 minute wait. Signed him up! I did put my son's hair in sectioned ponytails in anticipation of the donation/haircut. When we arrived, check in was super quick and my son worked with Regina. She did absolutely amazing - she was patient with my son, explained why we needed to trim his hair a bit shorter than he wanted (but I was happy with!) due to some crazy cowlicks and was friendly the whole time. Denise (not sure if I spelled it right) was amazing. I have been asking for the same face framing pieces forever at many different salons and no one could ever do it right. Everyone else would always cut two strands evenly in the front and be done when I wanted the layered framing. I am not being dramatic when I say Denise made me feel like a brand new person. She cut my hair perfectly, exactly how I have wanted it for years for the first time! I almost cried tears of joy. She will be the only person I will let touch my hair for the foreseeable future. We have been frequenting this establishment for the last 3 and 1/2 half to 4 years since we moved back to Temple. We reluctantly visited recently on a night that our regular hair professionals were apparently not working. We were stuck with Stephany and Daniel. I felt like Kevin Bacon from the Death Sentence movie with all the strands of hair that the guy missed. It was a simple buzz haircut for men with clippers and blocked in the back but it looked like I did it myself with a nose trimmer, no mirror, in the dark. They missed a 3 inch chunk of hair off my wife's cut and my daughter's haircut was rushed and uneven. We probably would have been better off going to the cosmetology school to get a practice haircut from one of the newer students there. This was unacceptable and the employees were a little grumpy too. Not because the prices are discounted due to the happy hour promotion that they offer means that it's acceptable to act in a very grumpy mood and do a half ass job. A lot of the other customers we observed leaving seemed to have uneven haircuts and none of the employees cleaned off the hair off people's neck and shoulders. I'm sure just like us they noticed it when they got home which was really annoying. We tip very well and this level of service is unacceptable. We won't be back to get haircuts from these employees. You should not act as if you are giving the haircuts away for free and just because you're tired doesn't mean that you should take it out on the customers. Prices are good. They always have a great coupon that comes in the mall. They started a happy hour after 6pm that's great when you have kids. They have good hours. Good haircuts without the long long waits. I love that you can check In Online and have non to maybe a little wait. Watch who you get cause the wrong person can mess things up. This review is 100% just a reflection of the terrible job done by Kristen! Went I'm for a haircut with my husband we both got Kristen, upon being seated at her station I should have left none of her implements were cleaned hair in her clippers and shears and she did not disinfect and clean them before starting the haircut. Now for the haircut I guess there was a competition for fastest haircut or something since she raced through and only asked one question about what I wanted and did not show me the back of the haircut. Husband had the same, a rushed haircut and she still did not clean and disinfect her implements. We came home and realized she missed certain spots and did not blend things correctly since it was a race I guess....Good thing I'm licensed so I could fix it, but that kind of defeats the purpose of paying for a haircut now doesn't it? read more

horrible place The first person that cut my hair messed up BIG time, she asked Stephany to fix it, which is hard to do when the layers are 3 inches SHORTER than I asked for. Stephany did a decent job trying to "fix" it, however, I asked her NOT to use a razor as it makes naturally curly hair fuzzy, bit she insisted. By that point I had been there almost an hour. So, I now have way too short fuzzy hair. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. read more

We decided to give them another chance the last 2 weekends because of a coupon we got in the mail. First time, husband got the district manager or something like that to actually cut his hair and loved the job she did. Unfortunately she isn't there every weekend due to her going to other stores around the area. Because of this experience and the confidence gained from this experience, we went this last weekend. DO NOT GET A HAIRCUT HERE and AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! I went here to get a haircut earlier today and had one of the worst experiences of my entire life!!! Ben is the person who cut my hair and not only did he do a terrible job but he also ripped me off by charging me twice! I asked for a simple #2 fade (taper) on the back/sides with an inch off the top using scissors and Ben managed to screw it up badly!! He did not talk or ask me any questions throughout the entire haircut and seemed to be in a hurry just to get me out despite there being no one in the lobby waiting. He did not fade my hair at all and then afterwards he said "I did my own custom design in the back" without even asking me first if it was okay. It's extremely uneven and so bad that it can't be fixed so now the only solution is for me to wait until my hair grows back. Then he decides to tell me to keep the top the way it is despite me wanting it to be thinned out since I have extremely thick hair. I paid using a gift card that allows for $9.99 haircuts and Ben had no idea what he was doing when he was checking me out so he swiped my gift card twice thus charging me double. I took a look at the receipt, saw the mistake, and confronted him about it and he proceeds to argue with me saying that he only charged me once and that my gift card balance is $89.91. I calmly tell him that no it isn't and that he has charged me twice since it shows my gift card balance as $79.92 (original balance was $100) and I show him the 2 charges which are clearly indicated on the receipt. The receipt also indicates $9.99 cash back but I did not receive any cash back since Ben did not even realize he made a mistake until I confronted him about it. He still keeps arguing and finally after a few minutes realizes his mistake. He tries to go to the computer/cash register to fix it but is unable to do it so he calls the other stylist (Bee) who also is not able to fix the mistake. They both proceed to tell me that I have to wait until the manager or owner comes in so I end up waiting about 15 min. for the manager to come back. The manager has to call corporate to figure out how to fix the mistake and finally I receive the money back. The manager then offers me coupons for $8.99 haircuts as if that will remedy the entire situation. Not only does Ben need to learn how to cut hair but he also needs to be taught a lesson in customer service and how to properly treat people instead of arguing with them when he is the one who made a huge mistake! This place does not even deserve 1 star and I will avoid coming here, or any other Great Clips locations for that matter, from now on!!! read more
