Was in Sunday, 16 August 2021 having signed in online as a long time regular customer. Received a standing position of 190 minutes..., rather lengthy in all the years having my hair cut here and many stylist that have come and gone. Monitoring the on line check in and auto feedback on my position after a while I learned that I was 88 minutes away from my turn in the chair. Shortly there after the time jumped back up to 168 minutes. Again monitoring the log in timing, I carefully watched my txt messages and the updated check in time to the chair dropped to 88 minutes. I proceeded to the shop to check to see if there was perhaps an error. When I arrived, the reception area was packed with clientele sitting and standing and only one (1) stylist, the Assistant Manager. (I asked her name and she said it so quickly I couldn't understand her). I inquired if there was an error with the the on-line check-in and was quickly told that she has nothing to do with that! To my surprise, I thought that the on-line sign-in, was in fact part of the salon system and ultimately, part of the Assistant Manager... I asked why the time decreased initially, then jumped way back up? She told me there were only two (2) stylist that day and the one stylist (Kevin) went to lunch, thus the reason for the increase back up in wait time on the on-line sign-in. She (the assistant manager) proceeded to comment back to me that "we have to eat"... which I felt was completely inappropriate for an Assistant Manager and to top it off, with a shop full of people looking totally bewildered..., the Assistant Manager, told others waiting that "they" don't answer the phone, when a few people came in and stated that they had called and called, but got no answer. She continued to tell people that there would be a long long wait and as soon as Kevin (who was off on his lunch break) returned that she (Assistant Manager) would be then going to take her lunch... Again, she let everyone in the waiting area know that "We have to eat... you know!" Totally unprofessional and as an Assistant Manger, for almost one (1) year, unacceptable for customer relations...! People that walked in were told you'll never get your hair cut today if you didn't do an on-line sign in... and left it at that. The walk in customers looked astonished by the Assistant Managers barking comments. Not apologizing or anything! This Assistant Manager once it was my turn to her client in the chair but across the room to the stylist that was serving me stating that attitudes of people, and that she doesn't step down to anyone, was directed to me and all customers waiting were in ear shot! Horrible Customer Service and SO UNPROFESSIONAL! I even commented to this lady, that I wasn't speaking to her, rather to my stylist Kevin.
Just so not the norm for this operation that I have been coming to for years. NEVER has there been anything like this AND hopefully never will this be allowed and or tolerated by the owner.
My hair cut from Kevin perfect as usual. He cuts my hair pretty regularly and has always done an excellent job. To Kevin's credit during this most unpleasant occurrence, was mum the entire time. My hat is off to him for his professionalism and character.
Really not my place to say, but want it to be known that the actions of the Assistant Manager should be immediate grounds for dismissal, by pass any kind of remedial correction. She the assistant manager is a senior person who really should know better!
Too bad this business allows such behavior. Poor representation for an operation that isn't new to the business. Hopefully by the time this is published the cause will have been eliminated and we can all move on!
All the best! This isn't the only game in town.
Respectfully,
Long Time Regular Customer. read more
