I found 2w Hair Bar after polling other folks in a neighborhood Facebook group about where they go for balayage and color services. Several recommended this place. And now I see why! I've been to Josh twice so far in the last 6 months or so - the first time he did an all-over hand-painted caramel balayage, which I LOVED. I've never gotten more compliments on my hair (by total strangers) than I did after I got that done. The second time, we moved on to an all-over foil and lightened it up even more. I was suuuuper scared but figured it's just hair and I could always change it if I hated it. But I loved it! A close (but very opinionated) friend of mine said I have a "blonde bombshell" look going on and I knew I made a good choice. Love the decor of this place - it's updated, on trend, bright and clean. They offer coffee/tea/water while you're getting your service done so that's a nice touch. Maybe some bubbly in the future, guys? :) It's a popular place to get hair done, so it might be a little bit of a wait to snag an appointment, but it's worth it. It's hard to find a stylist who you can trust with your hair but I'm glad I gave Josh a shot. They had to shut them down because of Covid! The facility has two pools and two sets of saunas. One set is co-Ed and accessible from the main lobby. Then there's a female-only area which is accessible only through the womens locker room. Going there as a single lady, I find this amenity very nice since it creates a safe spot to just hang out for us girls. The new Himalayan salt sauna is absolutely gorgeous. And so relaxing! I've spent almost an hour in there with a friend just hanging out and chatting. The spa employees even brought us a complementary smoothie. I enjoy the massages and facials. And the prices are way cheaper than most other massages in the area. Of course it always depends on which person you get for your massage but once you get to know the different people, you can start asking for your favorite. Most massages include use of the spa and the massage chairs. Or you can pay a low price and just go for the saunas, pools and to sit in the massage chairs. They have a fireplace and blankets in the chair area so you can cozy up and just hang out if you want. This is probably not at the most high and spa in this area but it is clean, comfortable and offers very good service. For a much lower price than anybody else seems to charge. This spa has updated their amenities and their service continuously, reacting to customer feedback and making improvements. The new receptionist speaks flawless English and is incredibly helpful. I ended up having my hair styled by Krysten because logistically it was easier than driving back and forth for makeup and hair since I live almost 40 mins away from Pompton Plains. Krysten did a beautiful job of styling my hair with curls and giving me a simple braid in the back to keep my hair away from my face. I ended up coming back last week to get my makeup done and my hair curled for my birthday and they did an amazing job again. These ladies are truly the best at hyping you up and making you feel beautiful. Even when I first met them they were super welcoming and it never felt awkward. The salon itself is GORGEOUS. The decor is so nice and you can tell that everything is brand new. They sell a bunch of hair products and random cute gifts. I trust her opinion a lot- for good reason!! First and foremost their work is beautiful. They are highly skilled artists and worked literal magic with my hair and face. I did a trial before the big day with Krysten for hair and Cat for make up. I liked them so much I started going there for regular haircuts, too. So I'm on the shy side- but their caring, kind, yet honest approach ensured that I got exactly the kind of look I wanted! Instead of asking broad yes or no questions like "do you like this" or "what do you want," they had more targeted, specific questions (i.e. "for this portion of the eye do you want to go darker or lighter? Add a shimmer/less shimmer?"). This might seem like a small thing but it was actually EVERYTHING. Because this gave me the safe space to make decisions based on the vision in my head, all while using their professional expertise to get there. Throughout everything, I felt like they really were happy to be there with me. They were so welcoming and friendly, I felt right at home. This feeling was tenfold on the day of the wedding! I had 6 bridesmaids, my grandmother, mother, mother-in-law, and two year old niece all getting hair and make up in addition to myself. All the women I hold near and dear to my heart- I had such peace of mind knowing they were in the good care of the Brugatto hair and make up crew. It was a completely chill girls hangout the morning of my wedding. The artists managed the widely varying hair styles, make up preferences, and personalities of my group like they were family. Their energy exactly matched us to ensure the vibe was right that morning (another seemingly small thing but just another wonderful observation I wanted to share). Long story short Everyone felt so comfortable, I got so many compliments from my bridal party about their positive experience with the Brugatto team. And oh my goodness DID WE LOOK GOOOOD !!!! Other things of note- my make up and hair lasted ALL. DAY. My last picture of the night looked just as polished as my first (and yes I went really hard on the dance floor lol). The artists were really good with timing, scheduling, things of that nature. They worked with us on our day-of timeline and made sure we had everyone ready exactly when we needed to be.
