I want to start by saying this rating reflects one stylist only and doesn't apply to the business as a whole. My 11 year old little girl had hair just past her shoulders and was very excited to get a new haircut for the new school year starting. She brought a photo with her and we showed it to Sherry, the stylist. We discussed the cut and she seemed to be on board; 1 inch off the length and choppy layers. At some point, I looked over from the waiting area and saw her cutting way too much. I immediately went over and she had some crazy explanation that sounded like babbling. None of it made sense, she said that she and my daughter decided to make a change so that the hair would sit just right on top of the shoulders. A she was saying this, she was cutting my daughters hair to a chin-length bob. Im not sure what to make of Sherry or how stable she is but at that point I insisted she stop cutting my daughters hair. She only just kept saying, "oh I won't charge you" as if the cost of the cut was the problem. My daughter was in tears and Sherry honestly seemed oblivious to what was happening, she just kept babbling that they decided it should be shorter so that it sits just "on top" the shoulders, and unaware that what she was actually doing was not anywhere close to her shoulders. At one point she said "it's all good". I asked for another stylist and Mayra thankfully stepped in and made the best of it. She was very skilled and I would definitely recommend her. As we were leaving I did hear a bit of an apology from Sherry, but not really about her own actions, more about how the picture I had was deceiving. She was awful and completely unaware of the impact she has had on my 11 year old girl, just about to start a new school, feeling insecure and anxious. Please Please Please, keep your hair far away from Sherry. She should have her scissors taken away. read more

I came into Great Clips wanting to take off about 4 inches of hair and have it relayered. I do not remember the name of the woman who did my hair, but she is the reason why I will not go here again. She didn't listen to what I wanted and insisted it to be done her way. She was socializing with a coworker and bragging about how she is capable of doing a "v-layer" which is what I requested. Everything that I requested with my hair was completely ignored and she went away with my hair. She ended up cutting off about a whole foot of my hair, and I left the salon extremely mad. I won't give 1 star because I do not mind the short hair, however since she did not listen to what I wanted and act like such a know it all, I do not recommend this place to anyone. If you want your hair to be done correctly, it would be worth paying a few extra dollars to go to a better salon. read more

Went a couple of weeks ago for a hair cut. Got taken right away. My hair turned out ok, looked healthy again. The hair-dresser (I want to say Kaila ??) who cut my hair told me about their shampoo/conditioner for color treated hair. "Solutions" So I purchased shampoo/conditioner which was 2 for $15. I just tried to use them and OMG....The shampoo is sooo watery and smells funny. The conditioner seems to be thinning, and I can't find my receipt! If you're going to buy their products, make sure you check the texture and take a sniff. And....Hold on to your receipt. read more

This review is not for the quality of haircut - as I couldn't know about that. We stopped in at 1:30 on a Sunday, and were refused service because they said they were booked for the rest of the day. Mind you, they close at 5 on Sunday. Back in 2004, I worked at a Great Clips, which was actually THE highest grossing franchise for that year, and my owner would have been horrified if she ever caught wind of anyone on her staff doing something like that! We would take any walk-in, up until closing, even if it required us to stay late! Prior to me working there part-time to supplement income from my full time marketing career, I was a highly successful independent contractor running my own hairstylist business. Sometimes on Saturdays, I would begin my days at 6:30 am, and work nonstop until sometimes after 9pm! If I could give this place 0 stars I would, I've been calling relentlessly trying to figure out the name of a hair artist I previously had and every time I called a lady named Terry rudely answered and would give me a lot of attitude then hang up quickly. Unfortunately I have to stress the artist because last time Terry cut my hair I asked for a simply V trim and left with choppy layers with no type of cohesion. Don't waste your time here - Terry could not care any less about customer service, customer satisfaction, her skills, or anything for that matter. This is a good great clips location, however the credit card system is constantly down. I have gone 3 times in the last year and had to leave because they weren't accepting cards. When I called there they answered the phone hella ghetto. Terrible customer service I then went in and had my hair cut. Tina cut my hair way too short and was just very unprofessional. One and a half stars that is. Like others have been saying, it's quite uncommon to get the same haircut twice. I want the same haircut! At least, the time they did it the way I wanted. I can only remember one worker who gave me a good haircut and was a great individual to talk to - I bet she doesn't work there anymore (probably for her benefit). The only times I ever go here is for last resort and I have no choice. I'm in the US Army Reserve, so sometimes I need a haircut that Friday evening right before drill that weekend and Great Clips is the only choice I have. I hate how they jack up my side burns no matter what. Whether or not they ask how I want it, they still mess it up. And with that line building up at the door they're only more encouraged to cut my hair faster without shaving around more than once... leaving those individual hair strands all over my head. And they always forget to cut my bangs. I now avoid this place as much as possible. Try Xcel Cuts (I believe that's what it's called) further down the street by Lucky's and K-mart. read more

I've been getting my hair cut here for years, always with satisfactory results. Admittedly i don't have that much hair to maintain, but today's experience pissed me off enough to write a review. The hair cut itself was fine, but i have a few tips... 1. Don't blow the hair away with your mouth, especially if you just ate lunch, and i'm your next customer. 2. When picking up a customers glasses for them, use the bloody rim. Picking them up with your thumb and forefinger on the lens is just stupid. read more

All of the 1and 2 star reviews regarding the staff not listening and way over cutting are 100% accurate. My neckline was cut way too high, the line above my ears cut too high and triangular and a full inch was cut off the top when I repeated three times to only cut an eighth of an inch off. The reputation and services provided at this location represents the management and/or ownership that solicits and hires undertrained and very short tenured employees. I've been here only once and will not come back. It was right beside Target, and I was too lazy to go to my usual spot. MISTAKE. I came in for a simple trim of my SIDESWEPT bangs. It was chin-length. I told the woman that I DIDNT want it long to the point that it was bunching over the sides of my glasses and by my chin (if that makes sense?). She cut it. I asked her to cut it at an angle and to layer it. Still too long. I told her WHERE the shortness I wanted it to be at. She kept insisting that it will not look good... Mind you, I've had sideswept bangs for a good ~12 years, so I know how my hair works. I basically gave up and my bangs looked really stupid. For an $18 haircut, this place is too cheap to hire more hairstylists/barbers. I came here on a Wednesday night only to find out that I'm 11th on the waitlist. I was like, ok I'll hang out around Target for a bit. After about 20-30 mins, I came back and I got bumped up to 7th on the waitlist. During that whole time, they STILL only have 2 barbers! You'd think they'd have more after seeing there are over 10 people on the waitlist. On top of that, it's Wednesday night so I'm assuming it's their busy hours when most people get off work. Seriously, I selfied the shit out of this one, thank you Lourdes (sp?) my stylist. It was cheap too, $17 but I had a $3 coupon I got in the mail so even better. I just came for a simple shampoo and cut and annice made a simple experience very relaxing and enjoyable. I normally hate going and getting haircuts there's usually a long wait and sometimes the stylists rush you in and rush you out. Annice took the time while washing my hair to massage my scalp which almost put me to sleep I have never had such a great wash! Great Clips might have a serious race issue. Just went in to get a hair cut and was told that they can't cut weave hair. I only wanted it trimmed. They should just put a sign in the window saying don't cut African texture hair weave or real!!! That way people don't waste their time!!! It's sad that they are the professionals and can't do all hair textures. Imaging going to a Dr. and being turned away because of your hair texture or skin color. Never go to great clips to get layers done. I would only recommend to go there for a straight trim. After countless times of even showing a reference picture on how I wanted my front layer to be the cut she still didn't reach close to my expectations. After getting home from the salon I had to manually cut my hair to fix this horrible mistake she made. And the fact that I didn't even have to stay 3 mins in the seat and she was alr done with my hair cut. She cut my hair in such a rush even though there were no wait customers sitting down. read more

I went to this place because my normal hair place is not open due to Covid and I definitely regret coming. I don not know the name of who cut my hair son unfortunately I can not tell you who specifically to stay away from so I would just suggest not coming at all. I asked the lady for an inch off and for framing along the side of my face. This didn't seem to complicated right? Wrong! The bottoms of my hair were completely butchered and in even, there were loose strand hanging from all over, but that wasn't even the worse part. The framing that I asked them to do was completely choppy and was totally uneven. The sides of my face look completely different. They totally ruined my hair and I have to go and get it fixed by someone who actually knows how to do hair! DO NO COME HERE!! WHY? WHY? WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I came here after I saw my friend's haircut. Her hair looked great, and I thought that if I came here too, my hair would look great too! Now that I think about it, it was probably just because her hair has good texture and she's pretty. Darn it. Anyways, I came here and .. $15! Oh Yeah! What a low price for the great haircut I'm about to get! So I sit down, and mention to the guy that I want to donate my hair. The first thing the guy does is NOT ask me how I want to cut my hair, but start fixing my hair, spraying it with water, etc. I was really worried at this time because I thought he assumed I just wanted to chop the whole thing off and donate it. So I quickly told him in a rant that I only wanted to give away part of it, that I wanted layers, that I wanted side bangs, and some other details. He was still fixing my hair the whole time I was talking, and probably didn't even hear half of what I said. Oh yes, and they didn't mail the hair for me - I had to do it myself. I found out afterwards that Great Clips is SUPPOSED to give you a free haircut AND mail it in for you. Anyways, so by the time I think he's done cutting my hair (he's stepping back and looking at it, doing miniscule clips, layers are finished) he still hasn't ASKED about what kind of bangs I want. I'm really scared at this point that he sees me as his guinea pig or something. He finally asks me what kinds of bangs I want, and I tell him I want sideswept bangs. and i KNOW he understood me because we even tried out different sides the bangs would be swept, and decided on the right side. FOR SOME REASON!!! He cuts the bangs about 2 inches short. HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO SWEEP 2 INCH BANGS. they aren't even to the side - they are like full bangs, except there's a chunk missing on the left side (seriously). But i'm very polite about it, as upset as I was, and told him that's NOT what I wanted - I wanted SIDESWEPT! SIDESWEPT!!! I almost cried when I saw my hair. So he tries to fix it .. but of course .. there's no way you can turn 2 inch bangs into side swept bangs. You can't cut hair longer. So now, i have thicker 2 inch bangs. Great. On the plus side, it was under $20, and I was introduced to something new. Hair grows back. And the layers weren't bad. I just clip my 2 inch hair to the side now. Sigh. read more
