We will try again I went a few months ago with my 2 kids and husband for hair cuts. I wanted a layered (Jenifer Anniston) for my daughter and basic cuts for husband and son. Took my 7 year old son for hair cut. Stylest had red/pink hair. Grumpy lady who was trash talking the manager in front of customers for her schedule. #GreatClips Sucks!! Will never go there again! Checked in on line at the Cherry lane location in Meridian. An hour wait was showing. Arrived at check in time 6pm. Only 3 people ahead of us. Two workers on duty and they were moving as slow as possible because they close at 7pm and didn't want more customers which was obvious. Did not get out of there till 7pm!! We dropped by the Great Clips on Cherry lane and walked in today. My son was greeted by a man and he gave his name. Apparently they are add to their list by first name and last initial of your name. We assumed he added my son's name to the list and we sat down. We waited for around 20 minutes and another man's name was called and it was another Ethan C. and he went ahead of use to get his hair cut. Apparently the man who greeted my son assumed they were the same person even thought my son gave a DIFFERENT last name and did not add his name to the list. We saw walk in's going before my son. I got up and spoke to a woman who said "well the people who call in ahead get first service". These people were WALK-INS! The person who greeted my son NEVER put his name on the list and this women did not EVEN check the list for my son's name!!!!!!!! She just assumed since he was a walk in he was last. I told her we are leaving and she never even TRIED to find out the problem. It was her employee not doing his job!!! We will NEVER go back to this location. Rude and lack of knowledge on how to treat a patron. If a patron is planning to leave after waiting 20 or more minutes, find out WHAT HAPPENED!!!!!! 4th review of Great Clips Meridian, Idaho. This is my 387th review on Yelp. I've been going to Great Clips for many years. Primarily because I can check in on an app and it holds my place. I can check in an hour before and still hold my spot. This is helpful, especially when they have an hour or more wait. My friend, Jon M., reminded me that GC keeps your haircuts on file, and will ask you if you're still doing a 2 on the sides and a fauxhawk on top, for example, so that you don't have to tell them what you want all over again each time-- pretty cool! It's regestered to your phone number. The haircuts are of good quality. The people generally talk to you and build a rapport. This particular location is close to my hour and has staff that has been there for a bit, which is nice to see a friendly and familiar face. The haircut is affordable. It's generally about $13, but you oftentimes get postcard or coupons in the mail for $6.99 haircuts or coupons on your receipt. As a note** be careful on the postcards you get. Today I stopped in with my 5 year old granddaughter to see about getting our hair cut together. The woman was so rude. No hello or welcome. She just flipped the computer screen around and abruptly said... Did you check in online? I have all these people scheduled and one in the parking lot. There was only one person in the salon getting their hair cut and about 9 empty chairs. We went down the road and we're treated kindly and got great haircuts. I think that some people give these places a bad rap but this place has some good people working here. Sure there are some beginners but you can pick to have someone more experienced cut your hair. A lady named Susan has been cutting my hair there for around ten years and I couldn't be happier. After my last experience, I will not be visiting this location again. I checked in online after the app said there was a 0 minute wait. That seemed very good for a Saturday afternoon. I arrive to find I was number 4 in the queue and the waiting area was very crowded. I stood at the counter for about two minutes, waiting for an employee to greet me. Tow of them looked straight at me and said nothing, left me standing there. Customer Service goes a long way, and this place doesn't seem to have any. I came in today completely expecting disappointment. I've never really been satisfied with hair cutting places. Mainly because I have different tastes. However Susan was great she greeted me the second I walked in the door and reserved my spot that minute. Within ten minutes they called me up and I was seated. She them asked what I would like so I explained what I envisioned for my hair both head and facial. She even lined up the nape of my neck. So sad to say we had a baddddd haircut from who appeared to be a seasoned stylist. She actually hurt my 11 year olds head by pulling hard while thinning his hair out. I'd like to say to start that my grandson or husband have never had a bad haircut at Great Clips Cherry Lane in Meridian Idaho. I will say though that my Grandson, who loves everyone and has always loved going to get his haircut has now decided he'd rather Grandma buzz him at home. I asked him why and before he opened his mouth I knew what he was going to say because I feel that way every time I go in that salon and I don't even get my hair cut there. I'm just sitting waiting for my husband or grandson. THEY DON'T TALK to their customers. You can hear a pin drop. No one chit chats at all. My grandson who is 7 loves to talk but he learned early on that they don't talk back, so he's uncomfortable. What's wrong with talking, laughing, sharing or showing interest in the person sitting in your chair? It's not a Covid thing....it's been going on for the past 2 years we've been going there. When I go get my hair cut the best part of it is chatting and enjoying conversation. Do they not realize that people are uncomfortable sometimes walking into a new salon and would like someone to break the ice. My grandson said to me, "Grandma, why won't she talk to me? Is she shy?"
