My name is Reagan I go to the Great clips on sunset boulevard Lextigton SC for some reason it says California is the location im in its not and i have been going since i was 7 and i stopped going when i was 16 i recently started going back when i turned 18. I have autism and social situations are hard for me sometimes. I would get different people at great clips and I'm not good at starting a conversation and I'm shy and the people i would get would not talk to me or just talk a little bit. I Came in one time and i got Laura i was shy because my hair was a mess because i was sick and i struggle with mental problems sometimes and it felt mentally draining to wash my hair so that's why i came there i told Laura that my hair was a mess because i was just over being sick and she was so nice and we talked the whole time and she blow dried my hair and some people don't i have gotten Laura so many times after that and now i request her when i know she is working. she is so beautiful, and she is a nice kind person. now every time she sees me at great clips, she has the biggest smile on her face when she is there i am no longer shy anymore. Laura is the best person i have ever gotten at great clips to do my hair. When she is there i feel at home and i actually have fun and i feel so calm when Laura talks to me and dose my hair. she needs a raise or something. read more

I checked in online and only had a 15 minute wait. Everyone was wearing a face mask so I felt safe. My stylist was Hayley. She asked me what I wanted and showed me how much she was cutting to confirm as it was several inches. She did a great job and I liked she checked her work so it was even. I would definitely go back to see Hayley. It was only $13 for the haircut (no shampoo or style) plus $5 tip equals cheap haircut. They have an online checkin feature to save you time. The service is always friendly no matter who I encounter at this store. In terms of hair cutters, I go here often only because of a tall lady named Jennifer B., she's the best and I have followed her from the Harbison Great clips location. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be going here, but she is actually licensed hair stylist, so you can't go wrong there. read more

I'm not usually one to write complaints - even when service is very poor - but the haircut I received today was far and away the worst haircut I have ever had in my life. It is so bad I am considering buying a wig to wear for the next several months while my hair grows back. I went in with long hair (I am a man) and showed the stylist several images of men with medium-length hair of a similar texture to mine. None of the pictures I showed had men whose hair was so short that you could see their scalp. However, the stylist proceeded to buzz the back of my head and sides, and leave me with bangs that were (roughly) half an inch shorter than what I requested. I would have stopped them, but I held back because I assumed they knew what they were doing. I feel that they knew they were doing a poor job halfway through when they started repeating things like, "Oh, it will look good after I do X!" over and over again all while cutting my hair shorter and shorter to the point that there was nearly nothing left but the very top once they were done. For reference: imagine a shorter, uneven version of Lloyd Christmas's cut from the 1994 hit comedy Dumb and Dumber. That is what my hair currently looks like at the time of writing. I truly feel that my stylist had no idea what they were doing. For what it's worth, the stylist cutting my hair was very polite. That said, I would sooner learn to cut my own hair than return to this location ever again. read more

Literally the most expensive place in Lexington to get a shampoo & blow dry/style. The worst.

I called to check in as only day off and told they don't offer that service. Then I arrive and I was asked to wait to clean area. Then another lady came up to me and asked me to sit down at a spot that was not clean, there was spiky hair everywhere on the chair and I asked her to clean it off so she grabbed a hair dryer and quickly blew the chair with it and said there you can sit now. I told her I'm sorry y'all are not clean enough for me and left. They did not seem to care and bad on me for just wanting a quick trim at cheap price. I have learnt my lesson now. Checked in before I left for home ....it was an hour wait...did a little shopping stopped in and saw my name on this list....cool only a couple ahead of me...waiting waiting waiting finally checked the monitor and SOMEONE ahead removed my name ....when I checked the app it didn't show me either ...told one of the stylists and she said looks like you just checked in a few minutes ago. WTF...told her I have been waiting for 2 hours...she shrugged her shoulders and went about her business ...went to COST CUTTERS. called corporate and they said owner will call me....received a call from salon...went to voicemail..called back and person said I'm in the middle of a cut I'll call you back....it's been 3 weeks and I'm still waiting...if you want a cheap cut with no customer service -go to great clips just don't check in ahead of time...keep watching the monitor and expect the worst... read more

Nice and cheap place to go get your hair cut (especially since there is a Cost Cutters locations in this same strip mall that is more expensive than Great Clips). I have not had much a of a wait, but Great Clips gives you an option on checking in on-line before you arrive so your wait time is cut down once you arrive at store. I am not sure if all locations now offer this, but there is a computer screen that shows who is up next to get their hair cut. They are store your information (by phone number), so when you go back to have your hair cut, they know what you need done. read more

This place is very consistent with friendly stylists and quality hair cuts. I have great experiences at most Great Clips, but this Lexington location tends to be a step ahead of the others. Gregory is fairly new and just cut my hair. Getting a haircut can be drudgery, trying to find the time and just trying to get it over with. Not with Gregory. He's a great conversationalist as well as a great stylist. I enjoyed my time there. I don't usually ask for a particular person to cut my hair, but he did an exceptionally good job. After that I left and went to Terry's Barbershop shop next to Food Lion, I got my haircut without a wait due to the staff on hand and was offered even a beer or wiskey. This place is hit or miss! Sadly when they miss, they miss BAD! My two sons have gotten their hair cut there on a couple of occasions. The first ladies cut their hair on a weekend did a GREAT job. However, they went on a Wednesday night and one lady buzzed my sons hair like she was asked but then straightened it across when she was NOT asked to do that. It looked like he was wearing a very fitted helmet. My other son got a scissor cut, and I thought it looked fine until he got out of the shower. One side was shorter than the other, and it was obvious around his face. I'm even more bummed because we had to cancel our family pictures that were scheduled a couple of days later. read more
