I've been to the other Great Clips in town and the problems I have with the Orchard Hill Park salon are: Location (parking and traffic in the plaza can be an issue), high turnover of stylists, and inconsistent results when getting a hair cut.
All that aside, I started going to this Great Clips location in the Twin City Plaza instead and I've been quite happy.
It's in the same plaza as now-closed Kmart, Subway, Cricket, Planet Fitness, etc. which means there is plenty of accessible parking.
The decor is the standard Great Clips look and feel. Modern, yet neutral so guys can feel just as comfortable as the ladies. This location also uses the check-in online/app feature which is a HUGE time-saver. This location offers a "frequency card" program; buy 7 haircuts, get the 8th free. That's a nice option if you're a regular here.
Alyssa, Cassie (might be spelled with a K), Michelle, and Steph seem to be the ones always there which means none-to-low turn over. Every time I go in, they are also very nice, personable, and don't rush.
If I had any criticism, it's that they (all Great Clips) do not offer mobile payments (Apple/Google/Samsung Pay). Cash or physical debit/credit card only. Electronic receipts would be nice too. If you use the app to check-in, have an option for electronic receipts or when your stylist cashes you out, have them set the option when you pay.
Chain places like Great Clips tend to have a poor reputation, but if you're a guy, chances are your needs are low for hair cuts, so Great Clips is more than adequate. For ladies, if you need a quick trim, Great Clips will suffice. Anything more, a non-chain salon would probably be better. read more
