I've been coming to this location since I moved to MA back in 2017. I have seen many people come and go during that time but the best thing I had seen was when Amanda was brought on board. I literally went out of my way to schedule my haircuts around when she was there. She became not just a random person but even bridged into friend territory because of her very personable demeanor and empathy. On top of that, she gave a great cut, so I was always happy to see her in the store. Upon learning that she is no longer with this location, I will be taking my business wherever she ends up or starting fresh with a new establishment. When you have talent and work ethic like that on your staff you need to reward it Great Clips. I got my haircut on 1/14/24 at about 9:00 I could not wait for the person I wanted so another hairdresser cut my hair and it was horrible!!! I do not know her name but she cut my hair once before as well and that was also horrible, she should not be cutting hair. This is a positive review for the people who work in the shop and a bit of a "meh" for their corporate operation. Please allow me to explain: although the folks at corporate failed to update the hours of operation for this location on their website or on yelp, the staff here were very kind and tried to accommodate me as best as they could. I ended up driving a few miles down the road to another location that's open an hour later, but I strongly recommend this location also as it's staffed by people who are good at cutting hair and great at meeting their customer's needs. Very personable and great customer service. These places are great for last minute haircuts which why I came here. I waited 10 minutes which isn't bad and before you know it... done. The location isn't bad but trying to leave was rough because of traffic patterns and what not. Of course not there fault but it just burned into my mind. I've experienced far better. Barber shop alternative? Absolutely. But if you have more than an inch or two of hair on your head, spring for an actual salon. I've been growing my hair out in preparation for donating it and this was to be my last "simple" trim before I grow out my last couple inches. Well, simple is an understatement. The gentleman trimmed about a 1/2 inch around the bottom layer; not well I might add, I had to snip a couple of strays when I got home. No layers, and only trimmed ONE SIDE of my bangs. There is no possible way if you look at my hair you can't tell where the bangs are. No shampoo/conditioner, just soaked my head with water which made it a tangled, frizzy nightmare. Most disinterested and inattentive service done to my hair since I was a kid which are the only customers to whom I would recommend this place. You get what you pay for. End of story. read more

I've been around the block with hair stylists/barbers. They seem to come and go like passing ships in the night. Since my hair grows fast and I keep it short, I have to get it cut often so I like to see one person instead of having to tryout different people and hope for the best. I was told about this place a while back and finally decided to try it. I saw the online check-in feature and used that to test it out. The wait time said 10-12 minutes which was fine as I was at least that amount of drive time from the building. It's positioned next to GameStop and in front of Best Buy. The interior is very bright, clean, and modern, yet it's not overly decorated/furnished. The overall motif is in between a traditional salon and a barbershop. I went to the front desk and saw on the monitor that my name was already on the wait list. There was one lady ahead of me. I presume it was the owner who checked me in and profusely apologized that the check-in system was having issues and the wait time was actually longer than it said. I didn't mind at all. I'm used to waiting at non-appointment places like this. They ask/confirm your name and phone number which is used to create a profile. Your stylist will put notes on it so when you go in again, the next person knows exactly what to do. However, they also ask for your address, which I don't like. It's purely for marketing and probably junk mail. Giving any personal info is optional. In about 15 minutes or so, I was tended to by Tania. She was very pleasant and personable which is a huge plus in this line of work. My haircut is simple, but even simple cuts can come out wrong. Tania did a wonderful job on the nape of my neck and around my ears; the places a lot of barbers/stylists tend to gloss over. While Tania worked, I noticed the rather steady "ebb and flow" of the place. People came in, put themselves on the list and either waited or left to run a quick errand before coming back. After my haircut was done, I paid the standard price of $14 (most places charge around this price) and was asked if I needed any styling products. Clearly an upsell attempt, but given the place is a salon/barbershop hybrid based on a quick "in and out" model, I'm not really sure if upselling hair care products is something customers would be attuned to; especially men who usually have little need for pricey hair products. The services Great Clips offers are pretty basic, like a barbershop, but the prices are very reasonable, unlike a full salon. If you're a woman and need more "in depth" services like coloring you won't find that here. Overall, I liked Great Clips and Tania's expertise. The hours are great too (weekends they are open) so I'll most likely return to Great Clips in the future. read more

This place is a disaster!!! My son went in today with about 6 inches of hair all around and left with his entire head shaved to a 2 razor because the messed up so badly!! He told her he wanted the top trimmed and the bottom to be a 4. She took a gash out of the top with a 2 and was forced to shave his whole head! I really love this place for my entire family. It is hard with today's busy life to make appointments sometimes and the convenience of just walking in with your 3 kids and having them all done at the same time it amazing! And I like how they take notes on the cut they are getting for reference for the next time! All great employees, super nice and the owners are great also. I've been a pretty loyal customer of Great Clips for I think at least seven years and didn't have any problems until recently. On THREE separate occasions in the past 2.5 months, I reserved and was confirmed a spot to have my hair cut through their website but arrived to see a sign that they had to close early. These early closing times have changed 9 P.M. to 6 and today 4:30. I can understand the first time, not so much the second time, but the third time is a little ridiculous. The website has you provide a phone number. I feel at the very least, they should be able to provide an automated call or text to let you know they had to cancel. 1- PARENTS if you have more than 1 child having their haircut NEVER let them get the cut done at the same time if you can't supervise both kids haircuts. After I explained to my daughter's hairdresser I wanted her hair and bangs trimmed, the other hairdresser said she was ready for my son... I should have NEVER let someone cut my child's hair with me not watching. 2- I brought my daughter and son (4 and 2) in for haircuts a week before my sister's wedding. I left in tears after my daughter's bangs were cut so short that they're closer to her hairline than her eyebrows (and she's the flower girl in the wedding). To make matters worse not only did the hair dresser cut her bangs WAY too short (it was only supposed to be a trim and she had more than 2 inches cut off her bangs) but she has curly hair which means its only going to look shorter as her hair curls (I ran home to straighten it to find it was already as straight as it could get AND THEY WEREN"T even cut STRAIGHT! - and I can't even it out b/c I need every millimeter of hair to try and pin it back for the wedding). I'd say I'd be happy that my daughter is so young she wouldn't remember this haircut but since it'll be captured for posterity in wedding photos she'll it anyway:( read more

Our 5 year old son has Autism and hair cuts are never easy with him, he screams, yells, cries...but it has to get done! We also fear bringing him places because we don't want to bother other customers or the staff with his behaviors. But I have to say that Great Clips in Leominster has been AWESOME!! Tania has cut his hair twice now and is wonderful with him!! She took the time to sit with him in the waiting area until he was ready to go to her chair! She made him laugh and smile while she buzzed his hair (he freaks out with the scissors),which took his mind off of what she was doing to his hair! She is super fast and does a great job! The owners were there on our last hair cut and we kept apologizing for the screaming but they totally understood and all the stylists and other customers didn't seem bothered by it either! Its nice to be able to bring our kids somewhere and not have them be judged (both our boys have Autism, but my other son is way easier when it come to haircuts!)! I will never go back to this salon again, it was the most unprofessional place I have ever been in. They make fun of their customers, eat food around where they cut hair, and when I called the owner to complain about the rude comment they made about my daughter who was pregnant (the comment was "is she fat or pregnant) was made fun of for being pregnant and the woman cutting our hair had to apologize for the unprofessional behavior of her coworker who had family bringing food in and hanging around in her booth, not even paying attention to customers coming in.
