Increased prices and only two barbers working Saturdays. Extremely long wait even checking in online. Slow bad service. Uneven haircut

Love them, great cuts and reasonsible. No need to go to high end stylists, no difference for me. Have tried them all!!!

The business Advertises $15.99 +/- haircut coupon but does not want to honor it. Coupon is elusive. Appears to be gimmick to get you to come in. Wants $23.00 instead. Inflation is down regionally. Not here. Moved on. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Katherine this week. Last month, I broke my wrist, so using a curling iron or a blow dryer is impossible for me right now. My regular Stylist in San Luis Obispo County gave me a short haircut to make it easier for me. Katherine was absolutely wonderful. She washed, blew dry. And curled my hair. Three days later, my hair is still looking great. I'm going back to Katherine next week, and she will be my go to gal when we are down here in the desert. read more

I just had the best experience at Great Clips thanks to James! He is an absolutely outstanding stylist--skilled, professional, and genuinely kind. I walked in needing a refresh and walked out feeling like a million bucks. James took the time to really listen, offered great suggestions, and executed it all flawlessly. It's rare to find that level of care and talent--especially at such an affordable price. Seriously, what a bargain! This is now my #1 go-to spot for a great cut, and it's all because of James. Thank you, James--you're a rockstar! ‍ read more

Great Clips - My hair cut is always great! - Hair Salons Near Me - La Quinta, California

Such a great experience here. I called this am they say is basically walk in but you can add yourself to a list on their website before you come in (which is huge and soooo helpful btw bc it tells you wait time!). Added myself got a 15 minute update and then was seen around 30 mins after sign in online. They were super friendly and their online system very organized . She did a wonderful cut on both of my boys and was super nice. I will come here every time because they are soooo sweet and really my boys look amazing. One was a scissor cut one was a buzz and she was great at both read more

When I find a hair stylist that "gets" me I'm loyal. Rosa is amazing. She is friendly, she listens and knows what she's doing. After a few years of following her around she's like a family member. Thanks Rosa!! read more

I got the worst hair cut here the other day. I showed a picture of what I wanted and can't understand what I got ??? So disappointing.. I can't wear my hair down now because my bangs ( that I didn't want ) are so awful. The lady was nice but did not follow my instructions. It wasn't a hard cut .. pretty basic until my bangs got attacked by the scissors. read more

I have been getting crappy haircuts, off and on, for 60+ years and this one is a contender! It seemed a basic task and the stylist, Amber, was clear on how she would layer and blend and when finished she said it looked great. When I got home, after my daughter stopped laughing, I realized it was a true 'Squirrel Cut', a term we developed in High School. It took me back to my home town barber, Dale, and the original 'bowl cut.' This was a hybrid Squirrel Cut that we named the Pineapple.' Another stylist sat me down and buzzed off the Pineapple and I was back to the buzz cut I could have done at home with my daughter's assistance. I have said it before but I think that was my last 'Great Clip.' read more

Checked in online from home, it said 'go now, you're up next'. I got here 5 min later to find there's one person in front of me, he's not here yet and my wait is now 15-25 min. Not a great customer experience read more

I wanted a haircut with layers and in V-style. The older lady parted my hair in two sections and literally did two snips. My hair looks so uneven. So unhappy with outcome, I could've did this at home and save $21. Or even go to Indio and pay $15 for the hairstyle that I wanted. The lady who cut my hair did too much talking and babbling about really weird and bizarre things, made me so uncomfortable. read more

Stopped by to get a haircut recently and regrettably so. My biggest issue is that i received the minimum effort which did not suffice. My requests were ignored, the haircut took less than 10 min. The haircut wasn't right and so far off I gave up any efforts to try and have it corrected. Absolutely no touch up was done. No sideburns clipped, no clean up on the neck. Basically didn't even look like I had had a complete cut. It feels as though everyone working there is a novice. They admitted that ALL the staff was new. I went straight from there to another facility so I could have my haircut completed. Unreal. Feels like the Taco Bell of haircuts. Not trying to be so doom and gloom, I simply feel ripped off. It's been a while since I've had my hair trimmed. I want to acknowledge and give a very big thank you to Katt for providing Great service, knowledgeable in your expertise, courteous, and a very caring professional hairstylist. I am so happy with my hair cut! It means a great deal to me that you check my customer profile, listen to my request, and advise on what is best for my hair texture and straight style. My hair feels and looks much more thicker and healthier. This was a wonderful experience today. Thanks again Katt, and see you in four months at Great Clips! ‍ read more

This place sucks. I had beautiful long hair and I went there asking for a TRIM but instead they have me a Bob haircut, I wouldn't mind the Bob except for the fact the one side was longer than the other when I left. I was completely upset that they didn't even cut my hair how I asked and they did it uneven. I went back to get it fixed and they evened out the front BUT LEFT THE BACK WAY LONGER THAN THE FRONT. I had to fix my hair MYSELF. This isn't the first time they've ruined my hair. I don't recommend this place. read more

Didn't know what a 1/4 of a haircut was, they don't cut your hair even, they don't have good quality

I just move to area from OC after using the same hair cutter for 30+ years. I was very nervous about where to go to get a cut and asked one of my bald friends were to go and he recommended this location. They were not busy so I sat right down and answered a few questions and got my haircut in 15 minutes. I was shocked at what a nice job they did and how fast it was. I had no idea of the cost so when she said $17 I nearly fell down. I gave her $25 and walked out a happy customer who will be back. I don't remember her name or I would mention it, but I will stop by and find out so I can ask for her next month. read more

I went in for a wash and a trim. My hairdresser Michelle was awesome! She helped me decide how much to cut off and discussed with me on the style. She knew that I was uncomfortable cutting too much off. I wasn't too daring so I just kept it simple and she was ok with that. She kept making sure that I was satisfied, which I appreciated. If you're going to Great Clips ask for Michelle. She's great! read more

Having been going to Great Clips in Rancho Mirage for over nine years. Once the new owner took over it went away. I found out that Michelle that cut my hair went to the LaQuinta store. I went there a few times. Last week I called to see if she was working and the girl who answered the phone said they couldn't give out that info. Doesn't this owner know that all hairdressers are not created equal. I will not drive that far to just let anyone cut my hair. This owner doesn't want his business to succeed. Linda S read more

My first visit to Great clips, Nicholas took care of me and his vision and hair cutting skills are awesome. Do NOT come here. I have a very simple haircut and they ALWAYS make my hair look horrible. I really only come here because it is really close to where I live, but I will never come here again. I'm almost positive that they hire people just out of cosmetology school, because every time I go I see a new face. Their lack of experience is very clear. I wish I had taken pictures of my haircuts, you would be in disbelief that they can really be that bad at cutting hair. Also, they are way too expensive. For their little knowledge/experience they need to lower their prices. I recommend you go somewhere else!!! read more

No, no no. Horrible. I was very specific about what I wanted down to showing pictures and saying the exact length to cut my sides and top and to just blend the side and back to back which I did not want cut. Basically a low 3 fade around the ears and a 1/2 inch off the top, then blend it to the length I had grown out on the back. The "beautician" assured me she understood. What I got was a high top fade with the sides, a 3 clipper all the way up past my temples and a choppy faux hawk on top, and the back which was suppose to be untouched is a 3 all the way up to the crown of my head. I will never ever go back and I recommend if you want to have hair on your head don't go either. read more

My son's hair grows really fast and he likes his hair military short, so we're in here quite a bit. We always check in using the app, and by the time we arrive, we barely have a chance to sit down before they call my son's name. We usually get a different person every time, which is ok, because it seems like all the stylists get the same training on how to cut hair. My son is picky, but he's never had a problem here. I once made the mistake of taking him to another hair cutting place because we happened to be in the area. Without naming names of the other place, I'm just gonna say that my son's hair cut there was anything but "super" and he told me never to bring him back there. That he wanted to go back to his regular spot in the future. Keep up the good work, LQ Great Clips! read more

I have been coming here for a few years to see Adam, who I consider to be an awesome stylist. Hadn't been here in quite a while, so called up to ask if Adam was available and was told he would be in at 3.30 pm. Not knowing their policies, I innocently asked if I needed to make an appointment, as I specifically wanted to see Adam. She replied "we don't take appointments, this is walk in only, if you don't like it, there are other salons you can go to".....really??? From the perspective of a business person, is this some kind of reverse marketing I'm not familiar with? If so, how exactly is that working out for you? Getting many new customers that way? So, at 6.55 PM, I called and Adam answered. He told me that he had one person in his chair and would be available in 10 -15 minutes. It was a Wednesday night and pretty quiet, and I arrived at 7.10pm, looking forward to a relaxing session before they closed at 8.00 pm. When I walked in, the person in charge said, "Adam can't cut hair now, he has to go on break"...when I asked for how long, she said "30 minutes" but told me she could cut my hair instead....right in front of Adam!! I waited outside in my car in the dark until 7.40 pm when I walked back in. Again, the person in charge pestered me, telling me that she could cut my hair instead. How hard is it for anyone to understand that it is unprofessional and rude to a) try to steal customers from a co-worker, and to b) disrespect a customer who has requested a specific stylist? Adam did a wonderful job as usual, and I was out of the salon at 8.08 pm. But everything could have been handled SO much better. Three stars: one for the business, and five for Adam. Hope Great Clups realizes what an asset he is to their brand! read more
