Terrible service, terrible haircut spend the extra money go to a professional , possibly someone not hungover

They don't answer the phone. The voice mail is full and customer service could care less.

Showed up 20 min before closing. Took my mother in law right in! Super nice stylist. Especially for the last hair cut of the day. My mother in law LOVED her hair cut. Really great experience. Highly recommend this salon. read more

Horrific. I am no clown who believes that just because I am a customer that I should be bowed down to, or any of that pathetic nonsense. And I consistently tip EXCESSIVELY, to show appreciation & respect. I work in Customer Service, myself, and while I take immense pride in trying to provide absolutely awesome service, I am a reasonable man. I don't presume to expect awesomeness of anyone. All I ask is a fundamental level of human courtesy. There, Great Clips consistently fails. The most recent was this very morning. Spoiler Alert: Nobody punched me in the face, or anything. But the Lady who "greeted" me, while making it manifestly evident, by her body language, that my presence was resented, waved her hand, quite dismissively, in the general direction of the latest Covid abomination. I deal with that, every night, at my job. But I, being a decent human being, and courteous of others, I don't presume to ask my Guests to spend 5 minutes, wading through that bureaucratic nonsense. I sum it up for them, out'f respect for their time. I understand that she's sick and tired of this Covid crap. I was sick and tired of it before it STARTED. But I don't look at a Guest, point to a droning, monotonous placard that's gonna take 5 minutes to read, and say "Read and sign." And it wasn't that "Just sign at the bottom, and save us both time." bit. It was "I expect you to read this entire thing, every single word, without any help or guidance from me...And I am secretly hoping that you'll decide to pass on doing so, so that I'm not expect to provide you a service." I don't ask for much. Just decency. And that sort of contemptuous disdain for customers has been common, for a long, long time at Great Clips in Exeter, ever since Dawn left. I totally love that I started getting my hair cut here. It is well run, the online check-in is simple and fast with accurate wait times, and it is the cheapest place for a quick hair cut around. I've gone many times now and had multiple stylists cut my hair. Each time they are friendly but fast and I leave with the hair cut I wanted. Granted I've never needed or sought out a salon experience, but this is where I'm going for a haircut from now on. read more

The hairdresser was nice but failed to do the task he/she was given and made me look ugly and I have to deal with it for the next 6 months

I went here on a whim. The best haircut I ever had. I forget her name but she was the manager. I'd definitely go back.

Started coming to great clips last August of 2014 received my first and second haircut from Amanda and a few more after that because she seemed to always be there. Couldn't believe the quality for the price. Continued to go, got the manager which was an okay cut. Now I'm into my 8th or 10th visit and I can not seem to get s good cut anymore. I've tried the southern girl (rubbish), the pretty girl (even worse) and what seems like a ton of new girls. The older one just rushed through me and missed all the hair around my ears and neck. If you are a person with short hair and you do not really care what it looks like then you can go here. Otherwise it is terrible. I asked for the young lady to take a little off the back and she hacked away at my hair until it was almost all gone. She just chopped it off bluntly. She never evened it out. I walked out angry and confused about how she could have a job as a hair dresser. I do a much better job myself and I wish I had saved myself the $18. I should have known that a cheap hair cut would not be worth it. read more

Have never been disappointed with prior trips here and Plaistow location until recently. I maintain a fairly long length and typically venture in every 6 months for a few inches trimmed off, very low maintenance which is why I'd rather not pay a lot at higher priced salons. I went for about 4-5 inches this time as it had been a little longer in between haircuts. I explained I was growing out some layers so not to be surprised when those popped up during the haircut and we clarified I was not looking to get them freshened up just trimmed as they are so they can continue growing out. Initially it wasn't too obvious but did seem a little shorter than I had anticipated based on the multiple times I had the stylist show me what 5 inches would look like but Like I said my haircuts are rare and anything more than an inch or two looks dramatic from my perspective. I usually don't have them blow dry because my hair is super thick and it takes a while so by the time I got home and it had started to air dry, it was painfully obvious that significantly more than 5 inches was taken off and realizing she had evened out my length to that of the shortest layer that had been growing out. No one ever notices when I get my haircut because it's always so long but my ENTIRE family immediately commented on it. I'd say it was double that of what we discussed, has to be close to 10 inches off as it's almost to my shoulders when fully dry. While her demeanor is very sweet and welcoming, the older woman (kind of artsy/eclectic style) working here as a stylist completely undid years of maintaining my long hair. Feeling that it was a risk going to cheaper, chain hair salons such as Great Clips was something I had been able to move past but I will not be making this mistake again and will be paying the extra to not have this happen again. I'm just glad my hair was as long as it was because any shorter and I'd probably have a pixie cut at this point. read more

This is a great hair salon if you're looking for an inexpensive haircut. Not sure how much prices vary, but I got my haircut for about $15 without shampooing or styling; those would add about $20 more, making it about the average price of other hair salons. This hair salon also does something slightly different when making appointments. With this hair salon, you can't make any appointments in advance. But they do take walk-ins or you can sign in on their app or online and let them know you're on your way. When I got there, there were many stations, but only two hair stylists there. But the wait wasn't long. They were also nice enough to give me a discount for my first time getting my hair cut there. They also gave me a coupon I could give to someone to get their hair cut in the next couple weeks. Then, a couple weeks later, they sent me a coupon in the mail to get another discount haircut within the next few months. I don't know any other hair salon that does that. read more
