Drove an hour to this spa because my husband and I were looking to have services done together. I had reached out ahead, and Cathy, the owner, was super helpful in scheduling. My husband had a beard trim with hot towel shave and enjoyed the experience with Leslie a lot. His beard looked great (far less scraggly!) after. I had a scalp massage (super relaxing!) and hair cut with Aryn. It's hard to trust someone the first time, especially with wavy hair, but she did a great job and really listened to what I wanted. The work she has done has always been exceptional , you can always count on a high quality cut and I would strongly recommend her. Regretfully for me I have moved to Texas so I have to start my search all over again. Tranquility has recently moved to a new location just a few doors away. The new space has much more room and the owner has spared no expense in renovating the Shop. I booked an appointment at this salon to have my hair styled in an updo, as i was a bridesmaid. The entire updo began dropping lower onto my neck and there were pins (not bobby pins, hair pins) falling out onto the floor as i was simply sitting/walking within two hours. The experience while getting my hair done was calm, friendly, and relaxing, however... i had to end up paying the on site stylist to redo my ENTIRE updo in a pinch before the ceremony as the initial hairstyle had become unrecognizable. read more

Now that I have a kid, clean beauty care products have become a priority. This was one of the non Aveda salons that I've found and I could not have been happier. Gloria does my pedicures and is super sweet plus she loves her job. Today, I had a haircut with Tess and she listened to what I wanted and figured out my hair quickly. I love my new haircut and feel so much cleaner. The only bad part is this place is close to Stillwells, D2 Java, coolwoka, and the Chocolate place. Beware when purchasing a gift certificate for a spa package- it is not possible to book these packages as a whole, ever. You have to do 1-2 treatments at a time over multiple visits. The massage therapist only works on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. There is one time slot per day, 10 am on Tuesdays or Fridays, or noon on Thursday. This is not mentioned anywhere prior to purchasing a gift certificate for a spa package, and it really should be. I was reassured over the phone that I could redeem my gift certificate for other services- but what's the point of advertising a spa package then? It's not right to be selling these packages if they cannot be redeemed as advertised. read more

My rating is for my pedicure experience with Gloria -I believe was her name. The salon is very clean, quaint and relaxing. Upon entering I was greeted and offered a complimentary drink (I chose coffee with cream) and taken to the pedicure area. Their nail polish selection was decent. Tess does amazing wedding hair! My bridal updo was so intricate and beautiful, I could not have asked for anything better! She was very willing to consult with me about what I wanted, and the additional intricacies she added beyond my basic instructions of a bun with a braid blew me away! My hair stayed put all day too, which is very important on your wedding day! Everyone I met at the salon is super friendly and easy to talk to as well. The salon itself feels very welcoming and cozy. I was in town for a day with time to myself...so I did a spa appointment which I typically only do when I have time to myself. Place was great, would go again if I am ever back in town. I had a facial which was wonderful...I was so relaxed I am sure I slept through some of it. Pedicure does not have soaking tubs but they do their best with portable foot baths. read more

I love to support local businesses, and I loved the fact that it was a green salon. I booked an appointment for my friend and I for to shellac manicures as they do not do gel which we typically get done. We got there a few minutes early for a noon appointment. Right as you walk in, all you can smell is propane. It was not a nice smell. Okay, stuff happens not a big deal, we got to the front desk where we were treated as if we were bothering the gentleman at the desk. He checks us in. We take a seat at the front waiting for our appointment, we are then told they are running about 15 minutes behind, again no big deal, things happen. Around 12:20 we head back to the nail room. It is cute and small, very cozy. The nail techs are friendly. They use CND shellac polish which is supposed to last 2 weeks and ask us to pick out our colors. Due to the paint job my nails had to be repeatedly "fixed" and still had bumps and missing paint spots. At one point the manicurist ask me what she thought she should do. My friends nails looked dull due to an old bottle of top coat being used and her cuticles were cut so bad one of her fingers bled. We were just ready to be done with this manicure. Not even a week later and both of our shellac manicures have peeled. I feel for a $40.00 manicure it should have lasted longer. We will not be returning to this salon for nail services. Which is too bad, I really liked the salon itself. read more

I visited Tranquility yesterday, I didn't have an appointment but was in the area and had some time so thought I would see if they could do a quick pedi. At first the girl at the desk said there were no openings but another that was there said she could do it. While she was very nice, I think she was new but did her best. I realized that what they call a mini pedicure, was really just a polish change and just a day later the polish is already coming off my toes. I paid $32.00 plus tip for a polish change and not a very good one. Needless to say, I'll now need to pay another $40.00 for another pedicure, or just remove all the polish. read more
