After getting checked in, and waiting while 3 people got thier haircuts. Which was about 20- 30 minutes. While the 3rd guy was getting finished, a mother and 2 sons walmed in and said they checked in online. Well guess what, they called them ahead of me. I was pissed. I walked. On the way out one of the haircut people says " you are next" It took all my willpower to not give her the retort I had in mind. This place gives mediocre haircuts at best. Will I go back ...absolutely not. Would I recommend this to anyone....no no no. Ive had too many of thier cuts that had hair that doesnt blend, left too long or cut too short. You have been warned. read more

I brought my grandsons for haircuts and they were both treated well, most of all they both loved their haircuts. Both stylists kept notes of the style each kid had and razor numbers, will definitely return. Price was very high fir 2 boy cuts, but that's the sign of times. Kick that dude out, sorry wrong platform. read more

Usually this Great Clips is my go to place for haircuts. I usually check in online, but decided to just walk in since it's a Monday and didn't think they would be too busy. A gentleman walked in before me and there wasn't a wait for him. One of the stylists asked if I checked in online. I said no, she said have a seat. She finished the guy she was working on. A mom and her 3 kids showed up and waited. The stylist didn't even check me in, she just called back the kids that had already checked in prior. I felt like they didnt want me there because they were busy. The stylist could've at least checked me in before calling the kids back. Very rude employees. No longer recommend this place, sadly. read more

I am usually Leary of franchise places to get my haircut, I usually do individual barber shops but was pleasantly pleased. Ashley the cosmetologist was absolutely amazing and i would highly recommend this place. As to not sound off putting i have dermatitis psoriasis and have always felt judged for this condition but she made good conversation while cutting my hair and it turned out great. Thank you read more

My Grandson got his hair cut here for the first time and the cut was great and it cost half of what the salon had charged the time before.

I had a terrible experience here. I usually go somewhere else in carson (Supreme Barbershop) where they are SO incredibly nice, they even gave my son a free cut a couple times because he sat so well in the chair. All around great place. However, I decided to give Great Clips a chance since they're actually in Dayton, where I live. I got on the wait list through the app at 2:40pm. It estimated my wait at 30 minutes. I went and picked up my son from school, ran some errands, wasted time in the parking lot. This entire time we watched the "estimated wait time" go down. Finally at 3:20 (10 minutes late so far) I get a text that we are next and to head inside for another 10 minute wait. I quickly go inside and check in and was told there's three people ahead of me!?!? I questioned it, telling her I just recieved the text that I'm next and she couldn't give an explanation. I then had to leave my 5 year old son inside alone as it's so small and crowded in there, especially during COVID times, because I had to go wait with my two younger children in the car (no room inside). I'm going back and fourth between the car and the salon for over AN HOUR! I watched, who seemed to be the main woman running the show, tell EVERY single person who walked in that they were next. She even told me I was next twice and continued taking 8 other people before us. It was 5pm before I finally asked what the hell was going on. Come to find out THEY SOMEHOW TOOK US OFF THE LIST as we were sitting right in front of them for the last two hours. My poor kids were screaming in the car because they had to use the restroom. We were late for our other appointments afterwards as well. So after I speak up, they get us in the chair immediately and Ashley actually did a great job on the cut although none of their attitudes in there were pleasant. While my son was getting his cut, a woman walks in saying she checked in on the app and asked how long. They said there were 3 people ahead of her, so she went next door to shop while she waited. She came back 30 minutes later and they told her there were now 4 people in front of her! How does that happen!?!?!? They need to get it together! Then in the end, they still charged me full price for this awful service. Won't ever return. read more

It has happened the exact same way almost everytime I have attempted to get a haircut at this dump. I check in online. I show up. Airheads confirm my place in line and tell me who is ahead of me so I wait wait wait wait then airheads take people out of order anyway. I tried yesterday same thing, went back today same thing. The 2 idiots who were working there couldnt stop chatting with each other long enough to pay attention. The place is a hot mess. In a bad way read more

One hour 40 minute wait for a haircut? Terrible service and company needs to hire more personnel.

Went to Great Clips in Dayton this morning, I have been coming here for over a year now and never had an issue. However this morning I arrived at 8:36 and the doors were locked. The open sign is illuminated and the posted hours are 8am-8pm but today they must be running late read more

This is the 2nd time I have had this stylist. The first time I told her what I wanted, and she ignored me and did the exact opposite. This time I explained again, and even showed her pictures of how I wanted the back, and she completely ignored me again. I won't be back! read more

I'm very upset with the way they did my sons hair. I informed the lady it was my sons first haircut (he just turned two) and she didn't inform me that should he cry she wouldn't not continue. So half way through he starts crying and she tells me if he keeps crying she will stop so she starts again and he starts crying. He just wanted his hands free and I asked if he could take off his cape (again she was already half way through and she said no) so now my son has this long piece of hair strip in the middle of his hair and I still paid. I should have said no and walked out. read more

Great Clips - You can see how uneven and blotchy it is - Hair Salons Near Me - Dayton, Nevada

I didn't have an appointment and had exactly zero wait time. I was there to get my six year old son a haircut. Here's the thing tho: he hates hair cuts. He has special needs and screamed the entire time. No tears though, so I know he was just angry, not hurt. Maria tackled this project with gusto. My little guy didn't handle it well but Maria even cut his hair while he was standing, while he was brushing my hair, while he was using the hair dryer. We will for sure go back to them for a cut. She was able to deal with him. But on top of all of that, his hair looks great. She made him look great even through all the drama. Thanks Maria and we will for sure be back! read more

I understand that we are in a pandemic with Coronavirus 19 and we all need to be patience but this place needs to be better organized. Says they open at 10am, you can't call or check in on-line, but at 9:50am I was at the shop and every stylist had a customer, the walk in sign in had 17 ppl on it and the wait is over 132 minutes! 10 minutes b4 open, they were open with customers in chairs and a long wait? Are we playing favorites to some? Also, with no waiting inside, a cold day below 60 and asked to wait in your vehicles without knowing your turn has just passed and time starts over. read more

You get what you pay for! Went with my niece to get her hair cut today and left with a HACK JOB hair cut from Great Clips. Worst hair cut experience! The hair dresser did not listen to what my niece said she wanted. My niece came in with a specific pic and said she didn't want layers, just a trim to take off any split ends. The hair dresser, if you want to even call her that, ended up cutting off 6in when she wanted a trim! She only layered one side of the hair and the sides were uneven. Beyond that she cut out chunks of hair, literal CHUNKS!! She intentionally did not blow dry so that it would hide her mistakes! This salon is a JOKE and we will never return! We ended up going to Jesika at the Twisted Scizzors in Carson City and thankfully she was able to fix this MASSIVE HAIR FAIL!!! The only good thing that came out of Great Clips was the refund we received! read more

First time to come here again in years, and Marylou did a great job with my haircut. I usually keep the style (layered), but have an inch cut off. A lot of times when you ask stylists to cut off an inch, you end up dissatisfied because you think they either cut too much or too little off. It was nice that she showed me what an "inch" was for her so we were both on the same page. I'd recommend that you ask for Marylou when getting a haircut here! read more

You're better off cutting your own hair before going here. I should of known better. Nothing but bad experience from here but I couldn't get into my regular salon before I left town. My hair was so uneven. I had longer strands hanging down that was missed in the cut. The left and right side of my hair was about an inch difference in length. I didn't get the name of the stylist but she was a very nice girl but needs to go back to Beauty Academy for a refresher course. read more

Just moved to Dayton and I'm happy to say I found someone who can cut my hair like I like it. Thank you Maria

I had back of the neck surgery so I was very hesitant to get my hair cut Marie heard my concerns and did a fantastic job hearing my concerns and still doing a great haircut. Then I had a card from my son for a 9.99 haircut. She honored the card and did a great job. Thanks to her for great service. BTW HOWARD is the name, LOL. (She will know) Again thank you for making me feel like I am a customer and she took the time to hear my concerns and still giving me a great hair cut. read more

Bad service.Hair super uneven lady was rude towards the end

I went in to our local salon earlier today because everyone there is so nice and does such a great job for our family but when I walked in music was so loud and everyone was having to talk over it to be heard, the hairdressers was having a hard time hearing what her customers were saying that I just turned around and left. I'll try again another day. I don't like going to get a service done anywhere the music is loud. It makes for a very uncomfortable experience. Too much noise gives many people headaches and this should be considered more in the service industry. It's like your trying to chase people out instead of making them feel welcome. read more

Had nothing but problems with this place. Tried using the online check-in process today right around 10 am and it wasn't working. Called and spoke with an employee to make an appointment for 2 pm for my disabled husband who is confined to a wheelchair. Gave his information including name and phone number as well as my cell number so that the employee could make the appointment. Was first told that I would need to call back at around 1:30 pm. When I questioned the reason for me to call back, I was told that Great Clips would call me to confirm. I called at 1:37pm and got a fax machine tone. Showed up at the salon at 1:50 pm and was told that that the salon was closing for the day because their air conditioner was broken but that my husband could come in at 9 am on Saturday. Really, 9 am when they state everywhere that they don't open until 10 am. I asked if they really would be open at 9 am and was then told by a blonde woman whom I've seen there several times in the past 14 months that they called me and left a message that they were closing early. There was no call to either our home phone or my cell phone. When I questioned her lying and I said that I was done doing business with this franchise she said would take my husband. Then while I was paying for his haircut with his pre-purchsed Great Clips card I experienced the interior temperature of the salon and it wasn't the sweltering heat that she portrayed. I also asked her how many haircuts we have remaining on the prepaid card and was told 3. When I did a serious eyeroll and replied sarcastically, "that's just great", she then stated that they hadn't had a break or lunch all day. If this woman is the owner and she wants to stay in business she needs to reevaluate her business practices and stop with the lies. If she's the manager, Then the owner needs to know that she is killing the business. Tomorrow I'm contacting the corporate office and advising them of our experience today. I'm also going to complain about the lack of wheelchair access to this business. The only two places to get a wheelchair safely into the raised sidewalk is close to Smith's entrance of right in front of Pioneer Casino's entrance which places you in bypassing traffic. At this point I want a refund of the prepaid card because I'm not going to subject my husband or I to the unsafe conditions involved with getting into this salon any longer and being lied to by already mentioned employees or ownership read more

Time after time bad haircuts, it only took me once but other family members have tried. Do you people ever hire anyone who truly knows what they are doing. Yesterday my son in law had to come to me to have me use my untrained skills to scissor cut and repair the damage you have done. I learned from a friend and folks it is NOT hard to trim in several directions to make a mans hair look smooth. I can even feather better than the lady that did a cut for me several years ago. read more
