This was my first time at Do or Dye Studio and I am happy to say I will be coming back and have found my new salon and new stylist! I've been very hesitant to get my hair cut as I have very thick curly hair and it's hard to find someone you can trust to work on that type of hair. I had a wonderful person in LA but since moving up here I hadn't found anyone. It has literally been a year since I've gotten a hair cut. Bettina was recommended to me by a close friend and she was not wrong! Bettina took the time to listen to my concerns and did a fantastic job with my hair! Even better she did an amazing deep conditioning treatment called Olaplex on it that I had never heard of before. Anyone with curly hair knows moisture is our friend and this treatment was amazing and gave it lots of moisture without weighing it down. She also showed me where I can get the product that goes with it to use at home! I highly recommend Bettina and the salon as a whole. It was clean and bright and very welcoming. Bettina makes you feel welcome and was a joy to work with and left me with an amazing hair cut and happy curls. I will be going back and already have my next appointment set up. read more

I got a pedicure and my nails filled out Do or Dye studio, the price was high and I hardly got any massage on my legs. You sit in a comfy chair and she sat on the floor. Just as you would giving yourself a pedicure. My nails were horrible, I had them taken off in less than a week. I had fungus under two of my finger nails. The room wasn't very clean and the owner hasn't fixed it yet according to the nail woman. I was hoping to find a good nail salon here in Dayton. Definitely not going back to Dayton Nails by Smiths. They have rude owners and the wife runs around with short shorts and high hills, very uncomfortable for me! Love Daniel who works there but I don't plan on going back there again! read more

I tried Do or Dye about 6 weeks ago with Tara. First time haircut and it was pretty good - usually have to go to someone a few times to make it exactly what you want. Mine is a simple bob-cut - no color involved and pretty easy layered cut. She did not do the layers but thought we could get that today when I went for my 10:30 appointment. This appointment was made 6 weeks ago and I arrived a few minutes early. When I got there, I saw her washing someone's hair. Well, ok. Then she proceeded to cut the lady's hair which was quite long. By now it is 10:45 and since I expected to be out of there within an hour of my appointment time - I knew this was not going to happen. I told her I could not wait. I felt pushed back for another person even though my appointment was made 6 weeks ago. I have ONE day off a week from work so my day is usually full with what I have to do when I have time off. Plus it is my birthday which made it even worse. I left and will NOT return. I can understand a short wait but this was obviously not going to be a short wait. Would never recommend this place to anyone, especially with Tara. read more

Went in for a color-n-cut and came out feeling like I'd just spent a great few hours with good friends. PLUS...ahhhhhmazing color-n-cut. I was in the area visiting my friend and had the need to get a haircut and update my layers. I don't know the salons in this area at all, so I checked out Yelp and narrowed it down to 2 salons, one of them being Do or Dye. I mentioned the 2 salons to my friend and she recommended Do or Dye Studio because her coworker went to this salon before and absolutely loved her haircut. So I called and spoke with McKenna and nervously asked if there was an availability that afternoon that same day. She cheerfully said yes! I was so relieved. I arrived and McKenna welcomed me and made me feel right at home. She shampooed my hair, gave me a SUPERB scalp massage in the process (pretty much what I look forward to the most when I get my haircut!) and gave me such a beautiful haircut that I told her "I wish you lived closer to me, so I can get my haircuts from you from now on!" Coincidentally, she's in CA every now and so she said that is definitely possible! I'm so so happy with my haircut with McKenna, and also just her sweet and funny disposition.
