I brought in my 8 year old for a haircut today. I am a person of color. Even before I could talk to the stylist as to the specifications for the haircut, your employee Adriana a.k.a KAREN told me to wait outside 3 times. She kept saying, "Ma' am you need to wait outside". WHILE another white lady was sitting inside in the waiting area watching her son's haircut. I was wearing my mask. My son was wearing a mask. My husband who watching this whole thing from the outside was also wearing a mask. I was made to stand outside the entire time. Another white man comes in who had not checked-in so he was asked to wait inside the salon till a stylist was available. But only I was made to wait outside. I brought this up to your manager Tina and she says this is your policy to make people wait outside. So I asked her why then was the white lady and white man allowed to sit in the waiting area inside the salon? If EVERYONE had to wait outside, then why didn't Adrianna tell them to wait outside? The nice lady who cut my son's hair apologized for Adrianna a.k.a Karen's behavior. When I asked that I talk to Adrianna to find out her reasoning to single me out, she went into a room in the back and refused to come out. Why was Adrianna hiding if she did no wrong? I've had three regular barbers and stylists cut my hair my entire life (I'm 52) because I'm that particular about how my hair is cut and once I find someone I like I just keep going until I move or they move. I can confidently say that Tina is far and away the best at cutting my hair. I just went for the second time and waited to write my review to see how it would turn out when I asked her to cut it "a bit shorter" this time. That's all I had to say and it was as I had hoped. A wonderful and quaint place to get my haircut, I've been getting my haircut there for three years now and not once have I regretted it. The estimated times can be a little long but thats to be expected of a higher quality saloon that takes so much care to clean their stations to keep their customers safe from germs. Good Parts: Easy place to get to, the stylists are all very nice and patient and make some great conversation. The haircuts aren't too pricy and with the expertise that they do it with, its quite the steal. And with the pandemic they're having extra care done that all the tools they use and all the chairs that are sat in are nice, clean, and sanitary. Bad Parts: The estimated times for getting a haircut can be a little misleading, generally making you think that it'll take longer to get you served, which is mostly not true. I have been coming to the Blackhawk location of Great Clips for a few years now. These days Tina, who is the manager, cuts my hair, but the whole team is great - super welcoming and friendly. Tina is absolutely lovely, and I always get a really good haircut. You seriously cannot beat the price, when most of the salons in Danville are $100 just for a ladies haircut. Please do consider giving them a try, you won't be disappointed. You can be in and out in around 20 minutes, check in online and get a text message when your turn is almost ready. Good cheap haircut places fine. Probably best for little kids but maybe not the best place for everybody. I've been here a couple times and it seems like there's always new people working here so I don't know if the turnaround rate is big but I know that affects service. And they need to train these people to be a little bit more friendly seem to want to get you in and out as quick as they can but I guess when you're not charging much for haircut you got to do as many haircuts as you can. read more

Overall very negative experience. The lady who did my hair wasn't even paying attention when I told her what I was looking for, and then gave me a very choppy and mediocre cut. I had asked for a basic trim, and somehow even that got screwed up. Apart from the haircut, the worst part was that she kept commenting about how damaged and thin my hair is. She swiped my hair to one side and told me to change my part because having my scalp showing in the middle part is bad. I told her I liked my middle part and she was like "oh well" and proceeded to say how my hair is abnormally thin. I asked for a haircut, not her judgment. Left the salon feeling super self conscious.
