I was excited to give this place a try, looking forward to something closer to home and my birthday…read moreis coming up so I thought I would give myself a different look. Got in right away so was happy about that. The stylist took me to a chair and asked what I wanted done. I said, I can't wait to get my roots done, it's been too long, apologized that my hair was dirty, and showed her a picture on my phone of what I wanted. I then said I also feel my dark is getting lighter than my actual hair so I'd like the dark a bit darker to match and some lights. She asked if I want it lighter around my face and asked if I'd like the color to my root in which I said yes to both and I would like a trim and layers around my face. She said she would get me a quote and walked away and came back and said $365. My hair is just past my shoulders and so I asked if that included a haircut. She said no. She said it's two colors so it's two bowls. $150 for the first and $85 for the second. I must have given her a strange look because she said let me go check with my manager. She walked away and came back and said she added wrong and gave me the quote of 265. I asked how much a hair cut would be and she said $85. I figured my birthday is coming up, let's do it and see if this will be my new salon I go to. She puts the color on and the foil is all around my face. I ask how long she had been working in the salon and she said one month. I ask her what just the root would cost figuring if I like her, once this grows out a little, I would come back in just to get the roots done. She said $85. A manager came over and said, You are getting some dark put in? I said, Yes making my dark darker and my light lighter, getting refreshed. She asked if I was getting a trim and I said yes just a trim. I was put under the heater and then taken back to get my hair washed. She then put a toner on and was massaging it into the top of my head for quite some time. She asked what color blond I wanted. I thought that was weird as I thought she was done with the color...was that the dark and she is taking me back to do the light I wondered. I said the same as the picture. She put the towel on my head and said I could go back to the chair. I held the towel on my head until I sat down and took it off. I was shocked to look in the mirror as the inch / inch and a half of white that grew in was still all the way around my face. She came back and asked what side do I part my hair. I looked at her shocked and asked, Are you done with my color? She said yes. I asked why nothing was done with my roots and she said that's a separate procedure that I didn't ask for. I said that's the main reason I came in here. She said, Want me to just blow it dry so I said ok and she blew it dry. Every salon I've ever been to does the highlights and low lights in foil and the touches up the roots and rest of the hair out of the foil with the base color. She questioned, Other than your roots how do you like it? I was baffled and couldn't even see anything other than the white left around my face so she said, I'll get my manager. I walk up to the desk and the manager and stylist come to the desk and don't say anything, they both just looked at me awkwardly. I said, Obviously there was a miscommunication. I asked who would come in and get their highlights and low lights done and get their white roots around their face not done. The manager said she just had someone come in today actually requesting that. I said to her if it was dark roots still, I could see that but not white around my face. I now still have to get my hair done, it doesn't look like my hair was done with all my white roots not even touched. The manager said, I can see that's not what you wanted. Well she could take you back and do your roots but we still would have to charge you $85. I was meeting friends for dinner and did not have the time. I had to go buy some powder root touch up after leaving a salon after almost paying $300 to get my hair done. How does that make sense? You would think the stylist doing my hair, seeing how bad the roots looked would clarify that I want nothing done with the roots. I was hopeful going in but still can't comprehend that a professional stylist would think anyone would want blond and dark brown highlights and low lights all done and keep the white growth so it doesn't look like your hair has been done. So disappointed.

Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience. I had a 9:00 AM appointment with Antonette…read morethat I booked a YEAR in advance. I arrived on time, only to be told to stand to the side while she continued working on other clients. I waited about 15 minutes before she even came over to me. I explained that I was a bridesmaid and needed to be finished by 10:00 for my makeup appointment. She literally laughed and told me, "That's not going to happen. You won't be out until 10:45." This was for a simple low ponytail with light waves that I had already shown her. At 9:35, two assistants started curling my hair while Antonette continued working on her THIRD client since I had arrived for my 9:00 appointment. I repeatedly asked when I would actually be able to see Antonette, and nobody could give me an answer. By this point I was extremely upset and honestly on the verge of tears. At 9:55, her assistant finally asked if I could come back later to actually have my hair done. Obviously, I said no because I had a wedding to be in and a strict timeline that I had communicated from the beginning. I took off my cape and left without receiving the service I had booked. The worst part was that Antonette didn't apologize, acknowledge what happened, or even say anything as I left. She simply gave me a snarky look. I am not new to getting my hair or makeup professionally done. I understand that appointments can occasionally run behind, unexpected things happen, and sometimes a stylist needs extra time with a client. That is not what happened here. There was no meaningful communication, no attempt to accommodate me, no apology, and seemingly no respect for my time whatsoever. If you know you cannot accommodate a 9:00 AM appointment, then DON'T BOOK A 9:00 AM APPOINTMENT. And if circumstances change, I would hope some would have the basic professionalism to communicate that with your client BEFORE they spend their morning sitting around waiting. I booked this appointment a year in advance because I trusted that my appointment would be honored. Instead, I arrived on time and was treated like an inconvenience while I watched other clients get serviced before me. I ultimately left without receiving the service I had booked. The entire experience was incredibly unprofessional, disrespectful, and honestly humiliating. I would never book with Antonette again, and based on this experience, I cannot recommend her to anyone who values punctuality, communication, or basic respect for their client's time.

My mother, who had recently been discharged from the hospital, needed hair care. I accompanied her to the salon and inquired about the cost of a hair color and layering service. The stylist quoted me $100 and estimated the service would take an hour and a half. When I returned to pick up my mother, the stylist was still working on her hair and asked for permission to dry her hair, which I granted. However, I was surprised to find that we were charged $170, excluding tip. When I questioned the discrepancy, the stylist explained that the additional cost was for the haircut, dye and drying. My mother, who prefers to avoid confrontation, felt uncomfortable discussing the issue, so we paid the amount. Given my mother's hair care needs, I believe the additional charge was excessive. I am frustrated with the experience and feel that the pricing was not transparent. I intend to file a formal complaint with the Michigan Better Business Bureau and write a letter to the state of Michigan regarding the salon's pricing practices. I am disappointed in the change in service and pricing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!
