To whom it may concern, I just got back from taking my son to get a haircut and we had a man by the name of Jun do it. Unfortunately, I think he was too rough on my 8 year old b/c never have I seen my son come out crying from this salon. I kept hearing my son say ouch to him. I finally had to get up and tell him my son's hair was short enough. We've been coming here for 3 years now and usually the ladies that work there attend to us. But this person I had never seen before at this place. I was hesitant in giving him a tip. He needs to be trained on how to handle and be more gentle with children. read more

I have been here three times. The first time one of my best haircuts in awhile from the very talented black woman who works there. The second time an older (Asian?) man who was very rough and nicked me several times. Tonight I went there and had the same Asian man. Just got my hair done here by Adriane, he was nice and patient with my explaining of what I wanted and I am so happy with what he did! He fixed my layers and the v-shape of my hair and touched up everything my last stylist didn't. He took his time and explained everything he'd be doing step by step and didn't mind my constant questions if explained everything right or if I made sense. Stopped by this great clips with my pops on the way to run some errands and luckily I got Anthony. He took his time with my cut and asked me how I preferred things every step of the way. My father got his haircut by Adrian and he also did a fantastic job. Giving a 4 star review due to the poor attitude of who I assume was the manager. Upon arriving she displayed a noticeably poor energy and it seemed like she didn't want to be there. Additionally she made a rude comment to Anthony regarding his "times". I understand it's a business and there's metrics to meet but certain aspects of a business should be handled behind closed doors, not in front of the client. I walked in an hour before closing time (they close at 9pm). I was hurried over by an Asian fella (recto, I believe his name is) who seemed nice. Turns out, I picked the wrong fella and time to have my hair cut and show up because he ruined the little bit of hair I have. It was my first time to go to this salon just to get a "trim", like an inch or 2 at the ends. It was a 10-15 minute haircut and they told me it was $20 plus I figure a $5 tip. After 2 days, I checked my account and this salon debited $45 from my account. My mistake was I didn't check the receipt. I went back to the salon and they said they can't return the extra $20 that was added to the total charge. Bottom line... please check and make sure you don't get CHEATED by this place... I had been looking for three years for a stylist. I sort of found one at $75 a cut, but frankly, can't say I was all that bowled over. No matter what I said I got the same cut which when blown out looked chic but when I did it looked too much like a page boy. I finally started natural drying it letting my natural curl lead the way. No matter what I said, she really didn't listen and refused to acknowledge the natural curl as a feature of the style. Well, tired of paying $75 for a cut I didn't want, I took a chance and went to Great Clips on Alameda. I went early so there was no one there but two stylists. Very informal. A stylist named Suzy greeted me, listened, sprayed my hair to wet it (uh oh) and started layering as I suggested. End result: this is the best haircut I've had since moving to California 5 years ago! All I have to say is... Marlita, Marlita... Marlita!! I have been to many many salons and barbers around Burbank, including Floyd's.. and no one listens or can get anything right! Until... Marlita. I just stopped in on a whim the day they opened. She not only listens, but she talks you through the entire cut to make absolutely sure that you are getting what you want. Great personality and very professional. Everyone at this location seems very nice, but Marlita is the one to go to. Now, not only do I have a new stylist... but so does my brother, my nephew, my niece AND my mom. Usually, I'd get a Groupon and wait a week to get an appointment for cheaper, with someone who isn't great at communicating (or enthusiastic for Groupon customers.) So, I decided to try the newly constructed Great Clips in Burbank, and I ended up with a salon-quality haircut for $16! The best part was the wait time--about 5 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. Catrina is the very friendly and talented stylist who took genuine care in delivering exactly what I'd imagined. I would go here before everyone else discovers this gem! I checked in online Saturday afternoon and only had a short wait when I arrived at the location. Marlita did an exceptional job on my hair. I'm in the midst of growing out a pixie cut and she talked through some options with me that would let me keep sone length while giving me a cute cut that looks great. She was knowledgeable about the different options and how the whole cut would come together; she asked a lot of questions to get an idea of what I wanted before she started cutting and checked in throughout the cut to make sure it was shaping up as I had in mind. I recently moved to Los Angeles, and had been looking for a good place to get my hair cut. Normally I go to a barbershop back home that does a good job, but when I am strapped for cash I go to Great Clips. I don't expect great work from them, but for $16 plus tip I expect to at least get some kind of good cut... this did not happen. The barber (leaving his name out of this, because he is a good guy, but bad barber) used the clippers on the top of my head first, and then proceeded to just move it about my head. At this point, it was better to just let him finish, but there was nothing he did that I couldn't have done better. I finally got the app to check in online as some customers got in ahead of me and suggested I do that. It really didn't help. It was the equivalent of walking in. It is also difficult to get any kind of discount (they had coupons and Saturday specials the first few months they opened at Burbank Rancho) and even offered a discount when checking in using the app. All gone now. Haircuts are a decent value. Cuts are consistent. The online check in is completely hit or miss. The actual wait time was more than double the wait time given on the app. Fix the app or get rid of it. I have spontaneously & mistakingly been to 3 Great Clips in the area in the past 16 MOS, if I see there is no wait. ** 1st) They NEVER Use A Neck Strip Between You & The Apron They Have Used On Dozens Of Customers W/Warts, Moles, Blisters, Boils,Scabs, etc.. they are spreading highly contagious crap! ( If you don't believe me, feel the back of your neck or your Significant Other or Son!! Guys, Where DO YOU Think Those bumps came from??!!??!! This is unSanitary and Illegal, Please report them To The Cal State Board Of Cosmetology or Barbering Immediately, they need retrained ASAP!! ** 2Nd) Just as soon as they get started cutting your hair the telephone rings or someone comes in to be waited on & Sure as you are the one in the middle of the haircut, they will stop and wait on whomever and whatever & then try to up-sell them some hair product while you wait, & then as they finally come back to you and apologize they forget what they were doing and one sideburn goes to your chin & the other is trimmed above the ear and same in the back of your head where you can not see when they spin you around to check your haircut in their hurry to get the next victim! DO NOT TIP IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED, it's the whole reason why we do or don't leave gratuities! A different hairdresser cut my hair a week ago, but I was not happy with it, so I went in and "fixed" the cut, making it uneven and chopped up. I was pretty desperate to get it right. Marlita asked me what I wanted, what I like, showed me pictures to get some idea, so after getting me really fast, she quickly nailed a sophisticated, well-blended, very flattering cut that I am so happy with. I got a coupon for $9.99 haircut so I decided to try them out. I only needed a trim this time. I like that they have an online check in option which also shows the wait time, there was parking, and it wasn't crowded when i showed up. They saw me right away, I'm happy with my trim, and they honored my coupon. The inside was clean and they had colorful partitions between the salon seats. They are also offers for veterans on Veterans Day which is nice. I was served by Jennifer who was great. read more

First time going to this location and horrible customer service!!! My family and I walked in and no one acknowledged us and didn't check us in for good 10-15 mins. Then the lady (Jennifer) who took us had no exp of dealing with customers, she was rude, I was giving her description of what type of haircut and she literally walked away while I was still talking. I was dumbfounded that she actually walked away to the back while I was standing there talking. When she got back and I confronted her about how rude it was what she did, Jennifer replied " well I ashtray got what type of haircut you need", really!!!! Reverse the roles how the hell would you feel if I have you that type of customer service.
