I always get my haircut at the Great Clips Balfour, Brentwood branch. Kayla is the one who usually cuts my hair, and she's really very good--she always gets exactly the haircut I want. But unfortunately, I was planning to get a haircut today, and the branch told me that Kayla no longer works there. I walked in with no expectations on a haircut/look. I had signed up to donate my hair to wigs for kids and I personally wasn't looking for a style. I did the online check l-in 10mins wait time and it was pretty accurate the minute I got there they were finishing cleaning up the area. The person who took me was super nice. Once she was done cutting my hair for donation she asked me what style I wanted.... I signed up for a haircut using the Great Clips APP and showed up when it said it was my turn. I was promptly greeted by Uyen and was seated for my haircut right away. I took my chance today and was able to see the same stylist as last time. Uyen gave me a great haircut last time, and today I was once again not disappointed. The overall atmosphere at this location is Fantastic! Everyone is always friendly, while offering a great haircut at a reasonable rate. Flock flock flock! Haha. That's us guys lining up to get a haircut at 8:45am. Overall this location has decent people cutting hair. I am happy with my haircut whenever I go. Everyone is nice too and seemed to have built a small community among themselves. The hours of this location are absolutely horrible. I don't know how a franchisee can close at 4 o'clock on a Friday. They are never opened at a time that's convenient. You have to takeoff work to get your haircut at this place. I just don't get how they want to stay open the franchisee must just be lazy because, I can see closing at 6 o'clock but at 4 o'clock? I mean they do an OK job there and I usually like going there. It's not the best but it's not the worst but I can never get there because are always so short. I don't know what the recommendations are from the, actual franchise, but it's got to be better hours than this. around Thanksgiving i went in for a slight trim. I didn't get my regular person, I got a Vietnamese woman. She manicured my hair over and over and over like she was in a trance. Finally, I told her to stop. I came home so angry . .she ruined me for Christmas holidays. Actually, that was the second time but the other time was several years ago and I didn't realize it was the same person so I sat, reluctantly in her chair. OMG. If you have not been here before and especially if you are a woman, discuss exactly what you want - how long, how you style your hair, how long since your last haircut. Anything you can tell the person to help them understand what you expect. I did not apparently get my expectations across enough to the person who cut my hair and I got what is probably the only way she knew to cut short hair: a man's cut. I am a 75 year old woman getting ready to take a special cruise and my regular stylist just canceled due to illness so I gave Great Clips a try in desperation. My hair now cannot even be curled with a curling iron and I am considering ordering a wig. Will not go here again. read more

Went here for the first time on a whim after getting my nails done next door. Only needed a trim off my hair just to get rid of split ends. I thought this place was only for men, but they cater to women as well. The location is clean and had about 3 stylists. I waited about 15 minutes which isn't bad for a drop-in. Their clients were all male so the wait wasn't too bad. I was helped by Cara who did a thorough but quick job. She made friendly conversation and made sure I liked it before I left. If you are going, wait for Betty. She was patient and paid attention to detail. My son who doesn't like haircuts, actually can't wait to go back now. Rosario on the other hand is closest to the front desk and easily distracted. She was instructed to take an inch off and I'm not exaggerating when five inches were taken off. Her demeanor made my daughter feel like she couldn't speak up. And there's nothing you can do to fix a hair cut that's too short. I've had my hair cut the same way for a few years; a simple, clean cut shave of the head. That sounds easy enough, right? I went in to get my haircut this weekend and this girl who was "saving money to get wasted on a cruise ship in Cancun" happened to cut my hair. In addition to cutting my hair, she cut the back of my neck and now I have a huge red line across the backside of my hairline on my upper neck. I have video and photo evidence of my wounds. I was so pissed off after my haircut because the girl who cut my hair did not apologize for the large red marks on my kneck, that I threw $20 on the counter and walked out - after I yelled at the "hair stylist." I would not recommend using this facility to cut your hairs. Great Clips in Brentwood, off of Balfour, seems to hire inexperienced hair stylists who don't care about their clients or their own careers. Forget about this place and avoid future misfortunes. read more

Business hours state 'open until 6', walked in at 5:15 just to inquire if they could fit in a quick kids hair trim. Woman approached and rudely brushed me off before I could get a sentence in and said "oh, we're closed. We close at 5." I didn't want to push the issue by mentioning their hours state until 6, and it was barely 5:15, and that their door was open with neon open sign still lit.... Really wouldn't have been an issue except that this woman lacked any customer service skills, could have had an ounce of apology or explanation but instead just stared at me and two small children waiting for us to leave. absolutely horrible. we usually go to a salon with our usual stylist, but we didn't want to schedule and wait so we just did a walk in. MISTAKE. I don't know which stylist we got but my daughter wanted only 2 inches off her hair and layers at the end. We ended up with over 2 inches off and a literal chunk cut way shorter than the others by her ear on both sides. I don't even understand how you can make a mistake like that. The stylist had no idea what she was doing. She needs to be fired. It sounds like i'm exaggerating but i'm not. Instead of 2 inches off she'll now probably have to end up with 8 inches to make it even. read more

Wow, both my son and daughter got haircuts for thanksgiving and both got terrible trims! I could have done a better job myself. My son's haircut had been done here many times and the style was the same as it always has been, just outgrown and needed a trim, she cut it completely different and nothing like I asked or what had been done before. It is really obviously jagged and horribly chopped huge chunks of hair missing, short pieces of hair next to long pieces... looks like some one cut it blind folded. My daughter has long hair and needed a trim and some layers, like she has had before, so again just a trim up from last time, hers is so badly chopped and uneven. I will not be back. I'm so disappointed, we've been here many times and have never had this much of an issue. read more

What's interesting is I went and I told them exactly what I wanted my hair I washed and dried at home, I just needed a haircut, I wanted layered, hairstylist started spraying my hair with water, I did like how she cuts hair took her time, but when she was finished my hair all wet she's asking me if it looks okay?? How would I know when it's all damp from all the water she sprayed on it, specially for a woman wanting hair layered, I did not ask for her to style it but I just wanted it blow dried so that I can see if it's layered the way I wanted. IM not sure how it works really but apparently she would have to charge me extra to blow dry my hair and see if it's cut correctly. It just doesn't make sense that I had to go home and dry my hair and see if it's okay and if not will I go back?? Didn't get this at all. Very disappointed read more

TERRIBLE PLACE! People here don't like to work. I went in at 8:50 and the place closes at 9:00 pm and the ladies there were rude enough to tell me that they were closed and that their clock said it was 9:00. The sign clearly said OPEN! If you guys were closed you would have just turned the damn sign off. If you do not wish to work ladies just stay home and go to sleep. Arrogant and pathetic fools. The hair stylers are all very nice and are great with the kids :-) I do recommend that you try a few different stylests and stick with the one that fits you best. Lazy, sloppy, and rude employees. I checked in online to get my son's hair cut and the wait time said 28 minutes. I drove 15-20 minutes to get here, made sure my name showed on their list, and then sat and patiently waited. They never said a thing to me, actually it didn't even look like they spoke to each other or any of their customers, and took every person who checked in after me or walked in after me. Thank you for the Great Cut Melissa! Brentwood has a lot of barbers and unfortunately a lot of them are closed on Mondays. I have tried to go to a few of them before but often times the good ones are packed and never available to take walk ins and sometimes I can't plan ahead and I just have to go when I find a spare moment. After I remembered my usual spot was closed today I decided to go to a chain salon such as great clips or Supercuts, the reviews here made me a little worried and I have had plenty of disappointing cuts in the past at similar establishments, but against my judgement I still went. I got there early a little after 9 and luckily there wasn't a wait. Melissa I believe was her name checked me in and sat me down and proceeded to cut my hair. She listened to how I wanted it and executed it awesomely! I like my cuts on the side very low like a bald fade and usually I have to ask the stylist to cut it shorter, my hair grows so quick and I hate if I get a haircut and I have to go back in a week. I didn't even have to ask her to fix anything, the length was great and everything was done very clean. It even looked great when it wasn't styled, which is more then I could say about the the last place I went to. Shortly after the place started to get packed. I definitely recommend going early or checking in before you go. $18 for a great hair cut, I definitely recommend Melissa, she did an awesome fade ! Thank you ! read more

Worst customer service ever. They did close In 10 minutes when I arrived, but I was told they were cleaning up before close while three workers were sitting around doing nothing. Went into great clips to get a haircut and was asked to wait for 15 minutes to get a haircut. I asked to get cut by one of the people who cut my hair last time. She asked me 3 times what her name was very rudely then said okay and had me sit down. A couple minutes later she called a little kids name, turned around and rolled her eyes. Her name is Kara.
