There are online sources that say he had to surrender his California license due to malpractice. When you do your introductory paperwork at this facility, you are signing away you're right to sue for malpractice as they do not have medical malpractice liability insurance. This is a red flag. On a more personal note - I've spoken to the facility to give this review before I posted, and the doctor did nothing to remedy the situation nor apologize for the way he treated me. For a holistic integrative center, I expected to meet with a doctor that actually listens to symptoms and experience with those symptoms. Further, as a woman seeking integrative health, I expected my hormones be tested before someone proposes added a regimen of synthetic hormones, since they can ruin someone's mental health and overall wellbeing if it's incorrectly prescribed. I came to Jeff Hanson, NMD, APH prepared with a list of symptoms, duration, tests I've completed, and a ton of research on what I was looking for. He mansplained, spoke over me, and seemingly even had to remove himself from the office to do research on endometriosis as he was very unfamiliar with (his words) "the younger female body because I only deal with older women and menopause." How can a doctor treat older women when he doesn't have the fundamental knowledge of how the female body operates pre-menopause? He didn't seem to have the basic understanding of endometriosis or PCOS and how they're diagnosed, as I was the one who had to correct him on this. He rudely pushed to put me on synthetic hormones, after I clearly stated my wish to avoid them, and he created an incorrect treatment plan without doing any blood or urine tests to back his "plan." No tests were done or looked at prior to his recommendations because (in his words) "panels are incorrect." If I'm dominant in a hormone, and he doesn't know that before prescribing that hormone, that would cause harmful ramifications to my overall health. His "diagnosis" for me was "menstrual cramps," which if you have a uterus, you can find the foolish humor in such a bare, lazy and uneducated "prognosis." When I called to tell him this review, his response was that his "approach" just must not work for me, except he listed a "symptom" as my "diagnosis." Please avoid this health care provider if you're looking for integrative health as a woman. My family knows first hand how inapt, ill-considered hormone care can hurt the wellbeing of you and your loved ones around you. My opinion is that this unprofessional and ill-advised doctor will do just that if given the opportunity.
