Overall, I'm giving Pearl 4 stars because although there was some confusion and concern regarding…read morethe tires on the Certified Pre-Owned Pacifica we purchased, the situation was ultimately explained and an appropriate resolution was already in the works. When we looked at the Pacifica, both my grandfather and I commented on the condition of the tires. My grandfather mentioned that they may have been the original tires, but he also specifically pointed out that the amount and pattern of wear didn't look normal. I also expressed concern about the wear. I specifically asked whether there was anything mechanically wrong with the vehicle and was told there wasn't, that it was a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle that had been inspected, and that everything was okay. This was particularly important to me because we were purchasing the Pacifica as a family vehicle that would be used for a mixture of town, city and highway driving. After bringing the vehicle home, I took a closer look at the tires and measured them myself. I found considerable unevenness in the tread depths and some areas of significant wear, which made me concerned about both the tires themselves and whether there could potentially be an alignment or other issue contributing to the unusual wear. I reached out to management with my concerns, and Chad contacted me directly. After speaking with him, it appears there was a misunderstanding/internal communication issue more than anything else. Chad explained that when he spoke with the salesperson and finance manager, they recalled that the tires possibly being original had been mentioned, but apparently they weren't aware of the full extent of our concerns about the abnormal-looking wear. More importantly, Chad gave me information that sales and finance apparently weren't aware of at the time: Pearl's inspection had measured the front tires at 3/32" and the rear tires at 4/32", and replacement tires had already been ordered for the vehicle. So there was actually already a resolution in progress before I contacted Chad. The problem seems to have been that the information about the replacement tires hadn't made its way to the sales and finance employees working with us. Chad was great to work with. He was friendly, communicated very well, listened to my concerns and took the time to explain what had happened. He told me the replacement tires should be arriving and that I would be contacted to schedule installation. I definitely appreciate finding out that Pearl had already recognized the tire condition during its inspection and had ordered replacements rather than simply leaving the tires as they were. The one question I still have is how the vehicle was able to be advertised and represented as one of their Certified Pre-Owned vehicles before those replacement tires were actually installed, particularly since Chad told me their own inspection measured the front tires at 3/32". I would have expected any item that needed correction to meet the certification requirements to be completed before the vehicle was advertised/delivered as Certified. That may simply be another part of the timing or communication issue, but it is something I still wonder about. That said, I'm basing my rating on the overall experience and how the issue was handled once management became involved, not just the initial misunderstanding. Chad's communication and willingness to look into everything made a significant difference, and knowing that replacement tires had already been ordered before I raised the issue further gives me considerably more confidence that Pearl was intending to address the tire condition. There was clearly some communication that could have been better during the sale, but the issue is being resolved, Chad was excellent to work with, and overall I'm satisfied with the outcome
