Been hesitant about having my oil changed at a place named Grease Monkey. It just sounds weird. But…read morethey had a coupon for $25 off a full-service oil change so I decided to give them a try this past weekend. They did a great job at changing my oil, filters, and multi-point inspection; they were more thorough than the dealership I've used in the past. I was however expecting it to be a little cheaper than it was; I paid about $140 with the coupon. I feel really confident in the mechanic that did my oil change; he was professional and let me know what he was doing or about to do the whole time I waited on my oil change. It took about 45 minutes which is pretty quick for an oil change and multipoint inspection.

First I went to Advanced Auto and a battery there was almost $300 so I said nope, then NAPA who had the battery for a little over $200, then I called Pep Boys who sold me the battery and installed it for under $250. I was so pleased I went back the next day for an oil change and tire rotation. The entire staff at this store was friendly and honest.

They refused to honor it when the gaskets went that were attached to the coolant system less than 6 months later. The value is not worth the savings. What I mean is it seems like a good deal and gosh was not as much as dealer but the warranty will not be honored nor will they do a true inspection and replace the hoses, gaskets, etc during the replacement. Then claim "the cooling system" is covered and that is how the warranty reads but refuse to honor it.

I made an appointment for an 11am oil change about a week ago. Al was the associate taking the…read moreappointment. $24.88 for the pit crew was the price he quoted; I'd be supplying my own oil and filter. I arrived at 10:40 and they couldn't find my appointment. Al was not there, just part-time, coming in at 4pm. The price he quoted was not honored. The price is $30. They got the truck in at 11:15. It wasn't done until 12:15. Everyone was doing a slow-walk. The person working on my truck disappeared into the pit under the truck for 20 minutes, I imagined taking a nap. Obviously paid by the hour. I observed the process from outside of the lined-off area. I like to watch work being done on my truck. That annoyed them. They closed the doors so I couldn't see. The service advisor said that I made them nervous watching them work (or waste time). I never got the feeling that they are competent for anything more than an oil change that takes an hour. Hopefully everything got tightened up well but I'm nervously watching for oil leaks. I'll go somewhere else next time.

I took my truck for a check up which cost 179$ for 1 code to be checked which was p0300 simple , which took him 3 days to discover the problem was just a broken coil pack but that didn't seem right because I just had them replaced (both coil packs and spark plugs) I was told my truck was next in line the first day knowing they barely get business. he tried to add the fee of a new coil pack he said he bought but couldn't show an receipt to and labor which I never gave permission to install anything on my truck and I was told it was ready to be picked up at the total of 401$ . I have recorded our phone cal just for the facts to relay to the next shop I take it to so they know what the last person has done .
