I just recently purchased a new car. I was interested in getting my windows tinted. I called around to various businesses. I also did online research. Well after much thought and consideration, I made an appointment for an estimate with Grease Monkey in Salinas Ca. My main reason for doing so was the consistent reviews I read about their customer service. I kept reading about how Grease Monkey went the extra mile to ensure they had a very happy customer. That to me is very important, customer service. It's seems to be a forgotten aspect in business now a day's. Grease Monkey is definitely keeping that standard at a high level. I'm happy to say I am now a loyal customer. Gabe and his staff made sure all my needs were taken care of. I made a call to them on a Friday afternoon and I was able to book an estimate appointment the following day a Saturday morning at 8:30am. I arrived and was pleasantly greeted by Gabe and he proceeded to answer all my questions. He was professional, and very informative in explaining the different options available for window tinting. From price to warranty and to the differences between the tint film brands they offer. Gabe made the process enjoyable and hassle free. Never once did I feel pressured, I was completely at ease. After considering all of the useful information provided by Gabe. I decided on 3M crystalline ceramic film and the life time warranty. Any issue that may arise in the future will be covered and taken of for free by Grease Monkey. With the exception of the front windshield but that was made clear to me and upfront, honesty is a business quality I respect and appreciate. Integrity from Gabe was clearly apparent and it's those traits honesty professionalisms, integrity that allowed me to make the easy decision to give my business to Grease Monkey. I was provided with a loaner vehicle while my car was being worked on. A few hours later I received a call informing me my car was ready for pick up. When I saw my car it was freshly hand washed and waxed. It looked better then when I drove it off the car dealership. Grease Monkey did a exceptional job on the window tinting. My car is on fire, HOT! Gabe and his staff knocked it out the park! Grand slam baby! Now I understand first hand how Grease Monkey goes the extra mile for their customers! read more

OK, here it goes for a second time, I typed up a review for Grease monkeys and Yelp did not post it so lets try this again....I called around for tint estimates for my wife's 2011 Honda Pilot. Grease Monkeys was not the cheapest, but i was very impressed with the customer service over the phone with Edgar. I went ahead and made an appointment for the next day and was greeted by Gabe the owner and Edgar. I was immediately greeted and welcomed by Gabe and was given a brief history of the business. I was given the prices of tint and warranty programs available. I chose the the lifetime warranty program due the my kids being a little rough on my wife's car. I left my car with Gabe and given a ride home.....Four hours later I was sent a text telling me the car was done, the Honda's windows are awesome!!!. Gabe and Edgar did a great job. I took the Honda home and my wife was equally impressed and very happy. I did have a minor set back with my wife's Honda, I dropped my Honda back of with Gabe and he dropped everything that he and Edgar were doing to address my wife's car. Gabe offered me his Range Rover while the Honda's issue was being addressed, I kindly passed and thanked him. I came back a couple of hours later and not only was the Honda's issue fixed but Gabe had the Honda detailed. The Pilot looked better than the day we bought. I just want to thank Gabe and Edgar at Grease Monkeys, they did an awesome job. Grease Monkeys now has a friend and customer for life, thanks guys. Frank Jacobo read more

Response to "Booger 4": I take my business Yelp reviews very seriously. However, I have no record or recollection of any customer experience fitting your stories and/or descriptions, nor can we verify anything about your identity from your Yelp account, which appears to have just been created for the purpose of competitor defamation. I feel my business and family threatened by these false and malicious reviews. I am publicly asking for the harassment and stoking to stop. Our goal is to provide the best customer service and experience to our customers. I took my 2015 Chevy Colorado to get detailed after reading reviews here. The truck was filthy from years of taking it off-road and well, truck use. Gabe worked with me from the get go. I was extremely impressed with his business. He treats you like family. They let me borrow their courtesy car for the day since I lived in Monterey. That right there saved me a nice chunk of money. When I got to look at the truck after work was completed it was as if I was looking at her new. The attention to detail was outstanding. I highly recommend this shop just based on this alone, but it doesn't end there. I had purchased an iPad mount from Joy Factory and when I went to install it at the base of the passenger seat I realized the universal seat mount wouldn't work for this truck. I brought it in to just ask how I should mount it. Not only did Gabe say he would do it for me, he did it himself. It's rare these days to find an owner who will do the work (and might I add, he did a great job!). I'm going back to have my windows tinted and they offered to install the Bedrug I purchased for me. If you want excellent service, this is the place. Grease Monkey goes above and beyond. read more

Quality of work is second to none, bring your vehicle in and let their work speak for itself. You won't be disappointed, and just in case you are I believe they'll do anything they need to. In order to make things right. Anyhow, I came back from a road trip, and the front end of my truck was covered in bugs and just overall dirty from being in snow. I inquired around to local shops trying to get a detail, but some of them never replied or could not take me anytime soon. As soon as I called Grease Monkeys, they had an opening the next day first thing in the morning for me. I requested a different time and they accommodated me to what ever time and date I requested, so long as they were able to. But let me tell you, customer service is outstanding!! Aside from superb service, they hit it out of the park in customer service . I felt as if I was siting in my own living room, while I waited. Plenty of accommodations while you wait. They provide free entertainment, food, and drinks. Don't hesitate to bring your vehicle here for a wide range of services, you won't regret anything but not coming here sooner. read more

I hardly ever leave a review, and this one will be unique seeing as though i didn't end up choosing them (let me explain). I was looking to paint my Jeep Liberty, met with MANY shops in town, none compare to the genuine care and attentiveness I received from Grease Monkey. They're a COMPLETE auto business so they don't nickel and dime you for their excellence. The owner took time out of his day to talk to me, check out my car's needs, then educated me on their paint process and what I should look for/ask about when selecting an auto shop to paint my car. WOW! No pushy sales tactics or rushed estimates, just genuine customer service and care for my wellbeing. RARE! The owner even took me around his shop to show me elite level paint and body work his shop does. The only reason I didn't have them perform the paint job NOW was simply because my wife and I decided to take care of a few other needed projects first. I will DEFINITELY be working with them soon. I recently bought a car and was in need of a good tint job, so I decide to google tint shops in Salinas. First result that came up was Grease Monkeys Customs, I read the reviews and felt confident enough to make an appointment. I call and make an appointment the next day. I come in for my appointment and am greeted by a wonderful lady who walked me through the tinting process as well as answering any questions I had. I was also offered a shuttle service which was able to drop me off at home. The work was done in about 2 hours and the shuttle was also offered to pick me up. When I arrived I was greeted by the owner who to my surprise told me he had worked on the car personally, he explained to me all that they had done and all the instructions I should follow for a clean result. All in all they did a fantastic job and definitely deserve the 5 star rating, they definitely went above and beyond my expectations, I look forward to doing business with them again. read more

Wow! These guys do not disappoint in any way. We had bought a used car that had not been detailed prior to our purchase and were looking forward to getting it spruced up. We brought it over for an estimate and Gabe, the owner, went over everything with us. We brought it in a couple of days later (leaving it the night before the detailing appointment to avoid having to bring it early the next morning which was a big plus) and picked it up the next afternoon. It looked fabulous. We even got a dent removed and couldn't tell where it had been. Well worth it. You can tell that customer satisfaction is very important to Gabe and his staff. They are thorough in going over what needs to be done and thorough in their work on the car. The work is top notch. There is also a nice waiting area (grease monkey lounge) and courtesy rides home or back to shop if necessary. I would definitely recommend this place for detailing and dent removal!! read more

Really impressed ! Had my appt to get my 3 windows tinted (back doors and back window) and as soon as I arrived the owner Gabe introduced himself . He was friendly, professional, and down to earth! I came here instead of other tint shops (due to their negative reviews) and I am NOT disappointed whatsoever. He did an AMAZING job. My car looks really good and I highly recommend everyone to come here. I always do research when it comes to investing in something like my car. Also the price was very reasonable., I'm soo happy I came here :D Going to refer him to family and friends. He also told me to go in a couple days so he can make sure the windows looked good and to clean them inside out and he ended up washing my car ! Such a good guy! Already got compliments on my car. He made me fall in love with my car all over again. Very happy customer. Would give him 10 stars instead of 5. read more

I had previous vehicle that had the windows tinted at another shop years ago (will not name it but starts with a B). Workmanship was subpar. A few items was not secured properly which needed to be taken apart and fix. The work was about half the cost but was it worth it? For my new car I decided not chance it and take it to a shop that is well known. Grease Monkeys treated my car like it was their own. Gabe and Edgar Both explain the process, help me decide the right film to choose, and insured me my car was in good hands! The cost was a lot more than I expected but it was well worth the $. I am getting a life time warranty so no complains. You get what you pay for. Workmanship was #1!.They earn my future business and looking to get a clear bra install on my ride. As soon as I get my '69 Camero SS it will go to Grease Monkey for restoration. read more

BEST TINT EXPERIENCE EVER!! I made 1 stop before getting home from picking up the truck and 3 people commented on the cleanliness of the job, hands down the best!! Lilly at the front desk provides the best customer service I've experienced at a custom vehicle and tint shop. Usually these locations aren't as friendly as they are extremely busy, but this group of professionals get it right and they are the busiest in the area! I cannot depart the post without a mention of Gabe. It is no surprise that Lilly does business at the front the way she does bc the owner ensures his desire to run a successful business built in customer service and experience is replicated throughout the organization by his employees! Thanks Gabe and team on the service provided! read more

Grease Monkeys has the best customer service hands down. Quality work. They detailed the inside of my moms 2007 Camry and left it looking amazing considering how it was before! They also detailed my convetible top! My convertible top had stains all over. Gabriel the owner of Grease Monkeys detailed my top himself. He left it looking like a brand new top...my car was manafactured in 1999 so that says something. They also flipped my Cobra emblems on my fenders simce they were put on inncorrectly. He didn't charge me to sand down the leftover adhesive that was left behind either. Will definitely be coming back. This shop not only do detailing and tint but also any automotive work you can think of. Best prices around the area! read more
