7/21/26 AVOID MAIN STREET AUTO…read more This has been the worst mechanic experience of my life. tl;dr Avoid Main Street Auto. They do shotty work and avoid you when trying to confront them about it for a refund. Brought down a 1998 Ford Expedition for a loss of power and a jerking feeling. Was told we needed an intake gasket and new spark plugs/coils. Ok, we approved the repairs. Get the car back 3 days and $1800 later. The vehicle feels the exact same. Nothing changed. Go back down and they said they will look at it again. We are told the catalytic converter was clogged and they are going to remove them to test drive. I also believe that didn't happen, but we are told it wasn't the issue. They find that it has a dead sensor in the intake so that gets replace which we pay $300 for. Vehicle gets some power back but is still jerking and idling weirdly. We are unable to return immediately because we had a death in the family and had to take care of that. Around 4-5 days later, we are back home and again dealing with the vehicle. We decide to go Manginos here in town to see if they can figure it out. Manginos discovered that they didn't even do the work. See attached pictures. Manginos fixes the PCV and EGR valves for cheap and the vehicle drives just fine. Power is back and everything works, but we are still out $1800 for spark plugs and coils that didn't get installed. Now we head back to Main Street Auto. We get told they parted ways with the mechanic that did the work originally and Mark tells us he will check the vehicle and make sure the spark plugs and coils are good to go himself. So we decide to give him a chance to make it right. But instead he decides to just leave the vehicle with one of his guys who does the worst job ever. We go down after getting the call saying it is ready. IT NOW RIDES WORSE THEN WHEN WE HAD THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM! They are now refusing to refund us in anyway, because the vehicle was fine when it left which is a complete lie. Evidence was provided on what happened and the garbage mechanic who originally did the job doesn't work there. Mark doesn't even offer some sort of middle ground. They hire bottom of the barrel mechanics who are incompetent and do half ass jobs. Save yourself the money and the headache and go to a mechanic that actually knows what they are doing like Manginos. UPDATE: 7/23/26 Manginos was able to fix the vehicle and it runs perfectly. Like it was new. I've attached more images so you can see the mess that was under the hood after our return trip on 7/20/26 where the vehicle ran worse from Main Street Auto after being told the work was done and to pick it up. Stay far away from Main Street Auto. They provide no evidence of work done and will try to rob you the first chance they get.

We barely got pulled off to the side of the road (no shoulder) while pulling our camper and side x sides. I called a couple places and no one nearby could help, called a tow company and they appeared helpful however after an hour we still did not know if or when they would come. One of the places I called advised us to call A 1 Automatics, who was both a tow company and a transmission shop. They were an hour and a half away in Trinidad, Co. By this time we knew it was our torque converter, fly wheel, and hopefully little else. I'm bad with names however I called and believe I spoke with the owner who asked a few questions and was on his way. Friends who had arrived before us came out and got our camper and toys for us, moving them to our campground. A 1 Automatics took the truck to Trinidad , he understood we needed the truck to get us home the following Friday. I canceled the other tow company who said they had someone on the way, however failed to let us know, and interestingly no one saw another tow truck. Transmission work is never cheap however they let us know what needed to be done and what didn't, as well as the cost. They used better quality parts and had us up and running for less money than we thought and by the following Thursday morning. We had absolutely no issues during the 10 hour trip back home. My husband and I truly appreciate these folks getting us in, taking care of us in a timely manner, and at a fair price. If your in the Trinidad Co., area and have trouble these are the guys to call.
