Is it bad that I want to get married again just so I can have Haagenson's catering once more?…read more Craig catered my wedding and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. He was incredibly helpful in the very beginning, listening to what we wanted to do and never trying to push anything on us. He was also able to accommodate some late additions to our menu and change of rentals. During our event the presentation of everything was above and beyond what I expected and Craig was on hand to make sure it was all delicious and went smoothly. Amazing customer service. But lets talk about the food here. We got a buffet with 2 main courses. several sides and some appetizers. Not only was this easily the best buffet food I've ever had in my life, it was some of the best food I've ever had. The BBQ spiced rubbed chicken was incredible. Craig had talked us into doing thighs instead of breasts because they stay moist longer and he was right on point with that. Even a few days later (we kept the leftovers) the chicken was STILL amazing. Another guest favorite was the smoked salmon platter, a last minute addition to our menu but also absolutely amazing. People were raving about it for days afterwards. You will not at all be disappointed if you pick Haagenson's to cater your event. I am looking forward to my next trip to McMinnville just so I can eat at his BBQ again. Fantastic food and a great person to interact with.

Our event was an appetizer buffet for a retirement celebration, and it went off without a hitch. The food was beautifully presented, abundant and absolutely delicious. Usually some food is thrown away but I wasn't seeing it at all. I cannot say enough good things about the servers. The food presentation was lovely, and they kept the food replenished. They were very helpful and willing to do anything that was needed. I highly recommend Biscuits and Pickles; you won't be disappointed.

Fortunate to have been invited to a dinner where Chef Dustin cooked and served a five course meal,…read moreeach course paired with wine. Every single dish was fantastic and contained some unique element that took it over the top! Best part - the dinner was purchased at a silent auction so part of the proceeds went to Feed Them Fresh. Win/win. We started the evening with some bubbly and appetizers on the heated patio. The hostess had requested a paleo style and Chef Dustin delivered. Smoked salmon on gluten free toast points was one of my favorite appetizers! So flavorful and satisfying and I didn't miss the gluten. The bison meatballs sitting on a bed of tomato jam and shaved Parmesan was a huge hit. we requested a spoon to get every bit of that tomato jam! We then moved inside and started our dinner with a gorgeous baby green and spinach salad topped with pistachios and pomegranates, adding both crunch and a bit of tart sweetness. It was the perfect starter. For the main course we enjoyed beef tenderloin which was expertly cooked, the inside pink and the meat so tender. The side of seasoned cauliflower rice was buttery and flavorful. The cherries gave a nice bit of sweet tartness to compliment the rich meat. Wines were specifically chosen for each course and when done right, as it was, it enhanced both the food and the wine. We ended the evening with a very light panna cotta topped with a crumble that added texture and crunch. The perfect desert! It was such a treat to have a chef come into one of our homes and prepare such an elegant dinner. Every single dish was well thought out, there was a flow and cohesiveness to the menu. Each course was plated artistically with colorful edible flowers and herbs. Chef Dustin was a humble chef, letting us know about the dishes and ingredients, but always staying a bit in the background letting our conversation flow. He came early, cleaned up throughout the night, and left leaving us all fully satisfied and content. I have no hesitation hiring or recommending Biscuit & Pickles for catering events or private home dinners. Chef Dustin will work with you on ingredients, both those you want and those you want to avoid so your guests needs will be accommodated and no one will feel singled out. Five stars all the way!

And besides meal- the service.. everything was set up, put down, whole kitchen was cleaned, even better then when he arrived, the food was served on time, was hot, but not too hot, he kept refilling our glasses, stayed out of conversation, but then would join in if asked or at the right time.. The guests LOVED the food. Especially the marinated chicken thighs and the potato salad. I even received comments from guests the veggie tray was one of the most beautiful they had ever seen. All the other dishes were delicious as well and there was more than enough to send leftovers home with everyone who wanted some. Busy Bee elevated my event into something even more special by providing such amazing food. I never worried once about any part of catering, as they were the easiest to work with all around. If you are getting married in wine country near McMinville, Rogue is hands-down the best bar and…read morecatering option available. I got married this past Saturday at the Evergreen Air & Space Museum and my guests (and husband) won't stop talking about how much they loved the food. I'd originally contacted a bunch of Portland-based catering companies who had tons of stellar reviews, but their quotes were totally absurd for what they were offering. I work in hospitality and have worked plenty of events, so I thought I'd had a reasonable budget for food and beverage -- but literally NO catering company came close. My reception was during peak July wedding season; they could afford to quote ludicrous prices because SOMEONE would eventually pay. I finally got Rogue through my contact at the Falls/Evergreen Museum. Aside from actually quoting me a reasonable price, here are a few of the MANY other reasons Rogue is amazing: - They're local to McMinville, so they know almost all the venues there and won't charge for gas/transportation like Portland-based companies - Janet (the co-owner and my primary contact) responded to all my emails quickly and in a straightforward way. No form emails. No glossy sales pitch requiring a "consultation call" and time-wasting handoffs through a disorganized event contact. I was literally like, "Here's what I want, and here's my budget. Is this possible?" She responded, "Yeah, we can make that happen, let me send you a proposal/menus for that price point." I'd had calls with 5 other companies and not ONE of them would give me this straight up info. Leading up to the reception we had tons of emails about menu adjustments I wanted and stuff, and Janet was always really on top of it. She's also extremely practical, no-nonsense, and organized... Honestly, that's a rarity in the events industry, where event planners tend to be all charm but can't remember all the glorious promises they made you on the day of your event. - I had a lot of specific things I needed for my menu due to some, ahem, "discerning" guests. I wanted some dishes pescatarian, some vegan, etc. And I personally wanted all of them to be local and sustainable. As an added difficulty, the Space Museum doesn't have any facilities for prep - or even running water. Everything had to be prepped and brought in from off-site. Janet handled all of those requests with aplomb. She even thought of things I hadn't. And everything tasted really, really good! - On the day of the event, her team was super on top of everything. They were very professional and everything was set up on schedule. There isn't a single thing I could criticize about their execution. We even had some last-minute challenges on our end, like the wine we brought for them to serve wasn't chilled because someone on our end dropped the ball, but they were totally adaptable and made everything work. Janet and her chef-husband also operate a restaurant called Subterra in the area, and they've been in the catering industry for a long time. They know what the heck they're doing! If you're where I was this time last year, overhwelmed by catering options and wondering whether planning your own wedding was a tragic mistake and maybe you should just elope so you don't have to deal with the stress of it all, just TRUST ME... Get Rogue on board. Tell Janet what you want and what your budget is (she'll have no problem telling you if it's not feasible... and probably figure out something that IS feasible for you). You won't regret it and this will make everything way easier. I survived planning my wedding reception, and you can, too! Go get 'em, tiger bride-slash-groom!

We didn't want to do a traditional sit-down or buffet dinner and worked with Reedville to do more of a food station, heavy hors d'oeuvres set-up for our cocktail party reception. Every single item they made was seriously delicious, not just 'good' - NW salmon cakes, goat cheese tartlets, teriyaki meatballs for passed apps, and the charcuterie presentation was beautiful. Sweet chili shrimp skewers, thai peanut chicken, asparagus risotto, arugula salad, plus two custom items we asked for: pork belly bao buns and fried chicken sliders. Everything was out of this world.
