Was able to drop off leftover paint for recycling free of charge. Store clerk came out to assist us with drop off from our vehicle.

I was afraid that I would never find matching paint again for Kelly Moore paint again now that Kelly Moore is out of business. But after working with this store's manager Jesse, I got the perfect matching paint, I recently did some touch up and could not tell any difference between the old and the new paint. So thank you Jesse!! Previously a woman employee at the Belmont Store used a machine to scan the leftover paint in an old paint can. When she finished, the new paint and the old paint side by side on a small strip of paper still look different, but she didn't suggest how she could make them more look alike. After trying some touch up at home, I was very disappointed with the result because it was clearly not matched. So I decided to call the Redwood City store to inquire about getting better result, the store manager Jesse suggested that he could use eyeballing color differences to make further adjustment. I took this can of paint to Jesse. After a few back-and-forth, he got me a much better matched paint. Thank you Jesse!

Then the same guy was called to find the item but some one else from the store came and went to fetch! I thought why is this guy did not just help me at the first place? They have some kind of Command in line? The place had few workers but no one really care to assist me! I am trying to purchase an over $100 stuff and came few miles away to get it but they don't seem to care! Then the guy came back and told me they don't have what I want ! The online is wrong! I think he is just stupid and did not find it!!! Completely waste of my time! Not sure what is wrong with Menlo Park stores! I have repeat bad experiences in a month so I guess i will not return to this town to do any purchases! Where is the old fashion service?? It's gone !! Or maybe now a day ' service' is an unknown thing!!! I will just go to home depot or Amazon. Instead! Store like ace should review their service , if Amazon or home depot monopolised the market , this will be a good reason! I got better service at home depot cone to think of it!!!

Less than 20 seconds after my order confirmation email I got an order cancellation email full of broken links to files on someone's hard drive. No explanation, just "Your order has been cancelled. Bye." I contacted customer service to see what the issue was and they gruffly told me that my payment was rejected and that I'd need to call my bank. I called Discover and they said no one had even attempted to charge my card for anything in the last 48 hours. Basically, Ace is full of it. McMaster-Carr overnighted the fittings to me for $13. Same card and everything. The next time you see some local hardware store owner crying on the news about how everyone shops at Amazon now try and remember it's likely because they stopped attempting to provide anything their customers needed a very long time ago. There's dozens of small-time hardware stores in San Rafael, none of them have the lowest prices on anything and all of them are packed with customers because they actually try.

They spent 2 1/2 days power washing and prepping, and 5 more days to do the painting. This crew is the only crew Zoltan has, and they are highly skilled and work quite well together. They used primer on chalky areas, and then applied two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal. The result was a near-perfect job, with zero accidental spills, no callbacks and virtually no flaws. This job included removing and painting two good-sized exterior doors, and painting the metal exhaust vent covers on the roof, including on the upper story. No plants in our yard were damaged, even though some plants were quite close to the areas to be painted. Zoltan's bid was for labor only, with material costs to be paid at cost as shown by his invoices from the paint store. His preliminary estimate of the material costs was close to the actual amount. Zoltan's bid was the highest of the three we received. We hired him in spite of the expense, because we liked his friendly, straightforward personality, and because we thought that having only one crew would be a plus (the second highest bid was from a larger company that has 6 crews). Note that the job would have been finished at least one day earlier, had not Zoltan pulled half the crew to another job (with our permission) on two different days as a favor to an old friend and fellow contractor who was in a jam.

They spent a good amount of time prepping, taping, and covering windows to make sure the job was done neatly. They also sanded peeling/chipped paint and patched holes in the stucco. They were respectful of our property and also our neighbors' property that they needed to access to paint the side of our house. Peter is very knowledgeable about paint brands, colors, and finishes. He had helpful recommendations for things we hadn't even considered, like painting the porch floor a lighter color to contrast the darker walls so it didn't feel like a dark cave and selecting a flat finish to avoid highlighting places where the stucco was patched. We hadn't picked all the paint colors before the job started and Peter stopped by on his day off on the weekend to share samples of paint colors that he obtained for us from the store. We really wanted a bright color for our door and even though it required many coats, Peter was willing to do the extra work to make the bright yellow look good. Peter was heavily involved in both overseeing his team and in doing a lot of the work himself. Every morning he met with his crew and gave very detailed instructions on exactly how he wanted everything done. He was on site for the entire job making sure everything was done properly. When they finished the work they did a good job cleaning up. Peter and the team were extremely responsible, honest, and very talented. The cost was reasonable considering the high quality of the work and craftsmanship. We were so impressed by the Final Coat Painting team that we highly recommend them to friends and would hire them again for future jobs!

Multiple floors of monotony and sameness, an ode to neutrals. I imagine that someone who loves neutral palettes would want this stuff. I felt starved for color and vibrance, which if you're looking for, you will not find here. I'm not sure who the target demographic customer is for this place, e.g. in all my years, I've never been to a home with a massive grecian bust as decor. Maybe this is for a commercial establishment? If someone was looing for an off white huge sofar with stuffed cushions, and willing to pay more, this would fit the bill. It has a completely different ethos from what they were over a decade ago when they had way more interesting, well-built furniture, e.g. we have an RH eight person dining table/seat set we got from them over twenty years ago--it's classic and standfs time, a gorgeous polished piece of wood. They truly don't make them like that, as the sayin g goes--and RH these days definitely doesn't sell like these.

That being said, our server broke one of our wine glass while serving us, they were out of Migration and Caymus, the only two wines we wanted to try, and my sea bass was the most undercooked fish I have ever been served at a restaurant - and it's a relatively pricy dish on their menu. I was do disappointed. I didn't want to complain and have it sent back because they were already taking so long to get food out. As for positives: the grilled avocado and caviar was delicious; the butterscotch dessert was very rich, but delicious. If they sold that in a jar, I would have walked away with it. At one point, the server offered us a complimentary shrimp appetizer - maybe they noticed they were falling short on our experience and tried to sweeten the deal. Appreciated the effort. Maybe their brunch is stronger. I can only imagine what those glass ceilings would do to the place on a bright clear day.

My helmet was finished at one point, but since he couldn't get a hold of me he painted over it and sold it to someone else. Mike had pictures of it, but must've misplaced those along with my contact info...I'm sure it was rad. I'd moved to Texas at this point, so we discussed how he'd produce repayment for a few months before comms went black again. I took a shot in the dark trying to get a hold of him at the beginning of 2011, and actually got him to wire me almost half of what he owed me. As the clerk processed the transfer and counted the cash, I felt as though I was witnessing a miracle. Had I just been involved in a white-collar robbery of an HEB? (that's the main grocery chain in Texas) Mike said the rest of the money was on the way soon, but I was getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan and this issue moved to the back burner as I became more concerned with getting my other affairs in order. Our last contact was about a year ago, and the trail has been cold since then. I'm getting ready to come home from Afghanistan now, so I may pick up where I left off. Yes, I'm writing a Yelp review from Afghanistan. Do I get a first for that? I'd review the various Pizza Huts, Burger Kings, dining facilities, and shopettes that I've visited, but Yelp isn't set up for international reviews. Minus 1 star, Yelp. It's been so long since I originally commissioned Mike to paint a helmet that my taste in motorcycles has changed, but I'd still actually like him to paint me a helmet suited to what I'm into these days. Maybe I'll work something out using the store credit that I still have. I do feel like I owe him something for at least giving me some of my money back. That something is a one star increase in my review. Two stars, Mike. I'll give you another for a sweet helmet or the rest of my cash.

If you are looking for a crew that is professional, meticulous, and respectful of your space, this is the team to call. The thing that impressed me most was their prep work. Before a single drop of paint touched the walls, they spent a significant amount of time covering every single inch of my home. They used plastic and drop cloths to protect all the furniture and floors in every area. They even went the extra mile by moving big, heavy cabinets away from the walls so they could paint behind them--they didn't cut any corners! They also did an amazing job on my two decks and patio deck. On the first day, they used a power washer to clean everything thoroughly, and then they sanded down all the wood on the decks to make sure the surface was perfect. They were so careful to cover everything nearby so the paint and stains didn't get anywhere they weren't supposed to. They took the time to fix all the holes and cracks in the walls first, ensuring a perfectly smooth surface. The quality of the paint is excellent, and I was shocked at how fast they worked. They managed to finish the entire house and the decks in just 7 or 8 days. They are incredibly efficient without sacrificing any quality. Highlights: Incredible protection for floors, furniture, and outdoor areas. Expert drywall and crack repair before painting. Full deck restoration (power washing, sanding, and staining). Moved heavy furniture/cabinets to ensure a total finish. Very fast--finished the whole project in about a week! I highly recommend Mendez Painting if you want a professional, high-end look done quickly!
