The electric wire going into the house was hanging very low and we realized the attachment on the house (for lack of a better explanation) was hanging off the house. Alicia asked us to send photos and I did with a comment" didn't realize how bad it was". Her response was "I've seen worse" so right off the bat she made me feel better. She asked if we wanted her to send someone to give us a quote, but we didn't want to waste time on that so said no. She quoted us how much it would be per hour (+ materials) and we were very happy with the final price (we felt very reasonable). The 2 electricians were here at 8:30 on a day when it was below 20 degrees!! They did a great job and were in/out in a little over an hour. To begin with, it was easy to get an appointment quickly…read more Then, they texted me when they were on their way with a picture of the person, Joseph Nagy, who was coming to check my electrical outlets, install a light fixture in the living room and change the fan in the bathroom. Joseph came with another electrician (please forgive me for not remembering his name at the moment). They introduced themselves, were polite and professional. They gave me an assessment and an estimate of how much the job was going to cost before they did the job. That's a sign of professionalism and honesty. Once I gave them the "Go ahead," they were very thorough. The installed the fan and the light fixture (even though I had lost some of the parts for installing the light fixture), and they did a great job. They checked all my outlets to make sure everything in the apartment was OK. When they were done, they picked up and cleaned everything. I've dealt with many people who have come to my house before to fix other things, Joseph and the other electrician never made me feel, as others have done, like I should have known this or that. They are personable, respectful, responsible, and very competent and professional. They sent me an invoice right away and thanked me for using them. Van Riper was called in by our contractor for some minor electrical work. While there he said our…read moreservice entry cables posed a grave danger for starting a fire. He said they should be immediately replaced and it would cost $1500. Because of the danger I had VanRiper replace them. Thereafter the house lights constantly flickered. JCP&L was contacted about this and they came out on a Sunday. They had to fix the work Van Riper did because it posed a safety issue I.e. danger of fire! I also asked Van Riper to send me the invoice for the work done showing "paid". He completely ignored this request.
