This is a really nice rest area in Gray county Texas. The restrooms are clean. They have snack machines. The architectural layout is bespoke. The views are spectacular as well. The kids have a play area. And there is space for dogs to take a walk. Additionally, the complex serves as a tornado shelter. It truly is a safety area, and there are signs in every stall about human trafficking, and how to get help. I highly recommend stopping here for break driving down I 40. The highway can get tedious, and this is a great stopping spot to recharge your batteries.

Very beautifully done right on the top of a hill with beautiful views. The restrooms are nice and clean. There is lots of great historical information about the area to educate yourself while stretching your legs.

When I passed Texas, I was surprised to find that it was really wonderful here. The administrator staff sandy was so kind. Thanks for the experience brought me to here.

A windy beautiful view in Mclean, TX. Unique picnic area arrangements, looks like a small village. Inside the center rest stop is information about the ancient people of the land and its development. Clean restrooms that area also Tornado Shelters. This location was already on Yelp so I didnt need to add it. The design and layout of this location is unique and beautiful.

A nice rest stop. Beautiful views. Picnic tables and shelters. A nice place to stop and stretch your legs and let the kids run. Or have a picnic. The inside is clean and interesting. I enjoyed the outside. The plants were buzzing with life. There were giant moths? Not sure but I enjoyed trying to get a picture.

It has spacious clean restrooms that apparently double as a tornado shelter. There's a nice breeze which is great during this heat. Great views from the picnic areas! There was noise pollution all night from the traffic on the hwy but that's a problem with almost all rest stops.

Entering the rest area facility was stunning. The facility looked brand new and clean. No dogs are allowed inside and water fountains were closed for our safety "COVID 19". Restrooms were clean and smelled fantastic. The urinals on the west side of the facility was closed but on the east side we're still open. The vend ain't machines were all in stock and all still running. They had a information desk but no one was at the counter. Their exhibit was small but a little entertaining. Outside there's a little playground that's also closed due to COVID 19 but there were outdoor seating in the shade. Lastly there were telescopes outside right in front of the rest area. This is a really refreshing rest stop to get your legs moving and stay cool from the heat.

First rest area I actually felt safe sleeping in my car in. It has video surveillance cameras all over, clean restrooms, playgrounds, a small museum thing, plenty of spaces, vending machines....etc. Thank you Gray County. This place is excellent!

This rest stop is located just off of I-40 about 50 miles from Amarillo Texas. Easy on and off of the freeway and perfect place to take a break from driving. The rest stop and bathrooms are very well maintained and look fairly new. This is one of my favorite rest areas to stop at when traveling on I-40 coming from Arkansas.

The building doubles as a tornado shelter which, well I guess if you're in the right place at the right time would come in very handy!
