In addition to experience and strong references, the single most important factor to us was chemistry. Warm and genuinely caring, we connected with Carisa from the start and knew we didn't want to entrust our wedding to anyone else. The other factors we considered: 1) clear, reliable communication skills - including the ability to listen and really understand our vision and intention for the event; 2) strong organizational skills and follow-through; 3) established relationships with the best vendors; 4) clear design inspiration and passion; and 5) a game-day MVP who calmly directs the show behind the scenes and makes everything run smoothly. Carisa delivered on every criteria, and, in fact, exceeded our high expectations. It has now been over a year since our special day, and we still get compliments from our guests who tell us it was the best wedding they've ever been to! The whole experience was truly joyous and magical, and Carisa and the entire Adornment Events team were essential in making our dream a reality. They lied to me about their connections and experience when we first spoke and then found novel ways to blame me whenever they were supposed to do something and didn't. It made me super sad as Jessica was totally lovely when we first met. And, they kept our $950 deposit despite only one vendor actually being retained and the fact that we terminated 6 months before the actual wedding due to lack of performance under the contract. It's been a spiral of passive aggressive emails since then with an "agreement" that Jessica has demanded that I sign to say that I accept this is all "fair, reasonable, and just". I couldn't make that up if I tried. Jessica and Lori have since re-branded to Kindred Spirits Planning and Design. Word of advice: read their "contract" carefully because their interpretation of it defies common sense and they will take you for everything you are willing to give them while providing as little as they feel they are contractually obligated to provide in return. Their expectations of you, however, will greatly exceed anything they put in writing for you to sign. And if you don't live up to it, you're the one to blame for them not doing the work you contracted them for. If you are a bride-to-be, it's not worth the emotional energy. We never heard from her unless we reached out. If we asked for recommendations for vendors, she would give them to us, but other than that, we were on our own. It seems like we paid for the most expensive package, thinking she would be in touch with our vendors, checking in with us, and just having an overall involvement, but she ended up being more of a day of coordinator who just happened to give a few recommendations. As people who are not in the industry, we don't know what to ask for so that's why we hired a planner. We had absolutely no issue paying, however, I don't know what we paid for exactly. I don't understand where she is getting the numbers for the hours worked because it does not seem like she did anything besides the day of.

Dj Gianni was the BEST! I felt like the admin team did an amazing job at matching us with a dj that would fit our wedding day so well. Gianni was great, helped go over our playlist and schedule prior to the wedding to make sure we had everything the way we needed and for it to run smoothly. We were planning everything ourselves so his tips to make certain things run smoothly were extremely helpful! My favorite part was that I had requested him not to take song requests unless it came from my MOH, and no matter how much my family bugged him he stuck to that request! Which I greatly appreciated.
