I was introduced to Jess through a wedding venue and from there saw her work for the Oregon Dog Rescue at the annual Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. After liking posting after posting of her images of smiling dogs among the colorful flowers, I knew I wanted her to photograph my dogs as well. I procrastinated until I saw a post that one of the senior dogs she'd photographed passed away just a few days after the images had been delivered to the client. Having an ancient dog myself, I knew I couldn't wait and scheduled our Fuzzy Butt session. Plans to have the dogs groomed prior to our appointment were scrapped when my old dog started to have sleepless nights pacing the room. I contacted Jess to see if we could move up the session and she agreed to come to our house the very next day. Don't worry, a week later and Willow is doing very well now, but I'm so excited to have these photos! Best family photographer in Portland area…read more Kay has been our family photographer for a while now, and I can't see myself going to anyone else. I was a wedding videographer, so I'm picky at finding a good photographer for my family, especially one that works well with kids. The whole process of booking is quick and easy. If you have Instagram, you're able to view her work on her profile and reach out to her through a link provided in her bio. Sometimes, she'll offer some sessions for folks to book, like mini sessions (15 min) and engagement shoots or family shoots. Otherwise, you'll select the type of shoot you want, answer a quick survey of questions (I.e indoors or outdoors), and put down a deposit. Payment is done online so everything is smooth. I highly recommend the mini family shoots if you have young kids. They're 15 minutes long, affordable, and so much fun to do! Kay is SO good with kids. My daughter is very camera shy and usually only lets me snap a photo of her here and there (if I'm lucky), but with Kay, she is completely herself because Kay makes it fun and engaging. Kay is also a mom of 4 young kids :) I was so happy to book our maternity photoshoot with Kay too. I was worried about the timing because our photoshoot would be around the time she gets induced, but she took us and returned our photos in less than a week in addition to 5 or more other clients' sessions before she was due. I wasn't expecting her to go above and beyond like this, and I sincerely wanted to reassure her we could wait longer for our photos to come back. She is absolutely amazing and talented! She's also doing our newborn photos. What you can expect with Kay is a fun photoshoot that is absolutely worth it. She's professional, friendly, and makes you feel comfortable being in front of the camera. She captured my daughter's personality so well. She takes hundreds of photos during your session and returns hundreds back to you via online gallery. Other photographers charge a pretty penny and give you only 10 or so photos back. We had two postpartum doulas from Wildwood, Angela and Sophia. They were both amazing and so so…read morehelpful. Angela helped us during the daytime, and was a great resource for childcare, information, and just someone to talk to. They watched my daughter so I could do other things, they helped me use my pump for the first time, and they showed me how to use a carrier safely, among other things. I felt very comfortable with them and appreciated having their help. Sophia helped us get more sleep at night by watching our daughter. We didn't realize how indespensible that would be, and appreciated the extra sleep so much. Even when I was breastfeeding, she would bring my daughter in and take her back right after she was done nursing, so that I was only awake for a short period. Once I was waking up to pump instead of nurse, Sophia would take care of the pump and milk, and wash the parts so I didn't have to. I really liked Wildwood's policies and prices, and the way they paired us with doulas. We also changed our schedule and package partway through after realizing we wanted more nighttime visits, and they were very accommodating and helpful with that. I'd definitely recommend them.

We interviewed two doulas and I was honestly very torn because I really liked them both for different reasons. Heidi had such a calming presence even through zoom and I knew deep down that would be exactly what I needed. Little did I know at the time my seemingly low risk pregnancy would take some interesting turns. I don't know what I would have done without her constant reassurance. I ended up in the midst of a multiple day induction that picked up incredibly quickly when they broke my water. We had been in communication with Heidi throughout the weeks leading up to my induction and she got to the hospital very quickly when we let her know they had broken my water. Just as i suspected she was the calm in the storm, not just for myself but my husband as well. She took some photos for us of those initial moments together and made sure I got my lusted for post delivery meal before leaving us to get some rest. She stayed in close contact over the next few days while we dealt with a 72 hour hospital stay, a readmittance scare, and struggles with feedings. We had a lovely postpartum visit at our home when things calmed down and it warmed my heart so much to see her hold our son. She advocated for me during labor when I wasn't in the mindset to do so myself and made me feel so supported and safe. I've recommended Heidi and wildwood to everyone I know who has gotten pregnant since my delivery. They are truly such an amazing and supportive group.
