Unfortunately, one of us had a small fall and was unable to finish the ride around the river or even ride their bike back. Noah and Tristen were very concerned and offered to help. We were all so appreciative that they showed some compassion for our situation. It just showed that they care about their customers and really want them to have the best experience. When I finally reached Tahoe City on Day 7 I was told Alpenglow was the place to go for a shoe upgrade. Not only did I find the perfect pair of Teva hiking sandals, I also got some blister patches. The two guys helping me couldn't have been nicer and I'll definitely be back. I was in and out in 10 mins. You guys are legends, thanks for keeping me on the trail. Tomorrow is Day 9 and I'll be finishing the TRT.

I was having trouble locating and sizing new liners for these precious boots of mine and a place in Truckee recommended that I talk to Lou at Alpenglow because he really knows how to fit telemark boots. Well, I hustled on over, met Lou and within no time he fit me with a new set of Intuition liners for about 1/4 of what I would have to pay for new boots. Recommend at least a three hour excursion if you want a leisurely ride to take in the views of the lake, billionaires row waterfront homes, and a refreshment at Sand Harbor. Note it costs $ to enter the SH state beach park Pro Tip: before your rent, best to know if your dog will like the Burley Pet wagon. Ours was miserable, screeching like a banshee, breaking out of the wagon enclosure in the first two minutes. Lesson learned our little guy would rather ride in our owned side-saddle pouch than the wagon. Once sorted, we both had a blast on this incredible ride.

The views are EXCEPTIONAL and out of this world. Trail: The path itself takes 1.5 hrs to the end and back, and there are out of the world spots along the trail to snap photos or take breaks at. The first 1/3 or so of the trail is actually on the streets/highway leading to the lake itself. It's pretty safe even with cars--just be mindful of traffic. Also be mindful of foot traffic on the trail, with kids, dogs, other bikes, etc. Bikes: Highly recommend the e-bikes. They're top notch, give a good workout, but also help immensely with the uphill climbs, which there are many of. Only drawback is that there aren't any bikes for shorter girlies like myself, or at least there weren't when we dropped by. Price: Great value for all bikes. There's also a group discount of like 10% if your group has 5 or more which was a nice touch. Overall very friendly for non-frequent bikers like myself and athletic folks alike! Great bikes! I'm a cyclist, but this was my first time with an electric bike. We rented the fat…read moretire versions, and the 40 mile ride was super comfortable. On the flats and descents I used zero assist and got a great workout. Then I throttled up to a 3 and flew right up the steepest hills. I can only imagine how fast you'd move at the max assist of 5. My buddy used assist almost the entire time and had no problem. They have front shocks, so we did some off Roading, and even a technical stretch of trail - no problem. If you're riding on pavement, you can lock the shocks with a flip of the dial and it's just like riding a normal bike - with a boost. Ryan brought the bikes right to our resort, made sure he got everything adjusted for us, provided a quick tutorial on how things work (very simple), and returned the same time next day to pick them up. Ryan, we'll definitely be calling you next time we visit Reno or Tahoe!
