Terrible service snooty and unfriendly. I purchased a $5,000 sofa in 2020. I just ordered the ottoman and the sales people were so weird. I walked in to give them the date I could pick it up because it wasn't quite ready. I told them September 27th I'd get it. Then they said okay just call when you want to pick it up and I said I'm here in front of you and I'd like to get it on the 27th--again the owner said okay call us it was and confirm. So weird. So, then I did call and remind them just because they seemed like they could care less I came in front of them asking to confirm date. When I got there they were really weird about assisting me with a small ottoman to get into my car--not I have spend $7,600 on a sofa! I got total attitude and snotty help. I will NEVER shop here again they won't see a nickel from me and I will not refer anyone to their store. So sad you cannot get local retailers to appreciate you and all the business you have sent them. read more

I came in on Black Friday and they were doing a good business all the while adhering to COVID protocol. They have a bunch of home decor stuff both Tahoe branded and non, from furniture like couches and beds to ornaments. Prices are to be expected on the main drag of Truckee, but everything seemed of good quality. I picked up a wooden carved Tahoe ornament for $14! It's pretty sweet and will be a nice addition to the tree. The woman asked if I paid for parking (which I did) and gave me $.50 discount which was nice! Overall, a nice spot to pop in on and see if anything piques your fancy. I'll revisit on my next trip, for sure! read more

I was so impressed with the customer service and kindness shown by Gratitudes. I was looking for an item that I purchased years prior. I was informed that they were no longer able to carry the product (which were books cut to make letters), the associate who I believe is the owner asked which letter I wanted. It turned out she had one at home. She took my information and about a week later it arrived at my home. She went above and beyond by wrapping it in beautiful gift wrap and packaging it carefully for shipping. I was touched by her kindness, thoughtfulness and quick follow through on her word. The furniture is of very nice quality and the $3,400 for a floor sample couch was what we spent..happily..well my wife was pleased. The delivery date was arranged..two weeks away.So far so good.Delivery charges were quoted at $150 per hour..given we are 11 miles from the store..How much could that cost?Turns out the 11 mile delivery trip and disposal of the existing couches =$418.That bill arrived a month after delivery.I was told that questioning the charges was "Unpleasant" for the owner and staff. I had no issues with paying a $275 charge but $418 was a bit much A word of advice..if you deal with this store..get every detail in writing..we didn't...our suprise was the result and attitue of Julie Huch,the owner, was insulting. read more

I had higher expectations after seeing the reviews. There were some things we liked decor wise, but I didn't love everything. There were some nice rustic furniture pieces but they were pricey. Overall, it was just much smaller than I expected. Truckee as a town is absolutely darling however, I hope to be back for a day trip. It is very historic and very cute. read more

All right. This store forced me to sign up on Yelp and now I'll tell everything what I think about it. The store itself looks very nice. There are a bunch of beautiful and cozy decorations. I've been to this store a couple times but each time when I go there I feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable. Seriously every time! Cause when I am looking around, go to different corners the store manager always sneaks up on me. And no , she doesn't offer any help, she just quickly glance at me definitely making sure I don't steal anything. And then she goes away. That's nuts! Won't buy anything there for sure. We've purchased small decorative items here over the years and always enjoy browsing when in town. Two years ago, we lost our home in a wildfire in Sonoma county and while we were rebuilding, I became enamored (ok, obsessed) with a sectional sofa they had on display here. We looked lots of places, but didn't find anything else we liked as much. Everyone who works here is so kind and helpful, it was also a pleasure to spend our money here, supporting a small business. Gretchen, Julie, Susan, and Rita all helped us in one way or another, including showing us how the pieces could fit together, mailing fabric samples, and picking out the pattern for the accent pillows. The custom sectional was built faster than anyone expected and the delivery company they used was nice enough to store it for a few weeks when our house wasn't done yet. It's everything we hoped it would be in our rebuilt home and bonus: it even matches the one cat. We are grateful to Gratitudes! read more

I LOVE this store. It is a must see when browsing around old Truckee. I have purchased a few items from here and I love them. They sell a lot of wooden signs with sayings on them (just like every other store) but this place has quotes and sayings that I have never seen anywhere else. None of the "Live, Laugh, Love" crap. The last one I just bought said "Begin Anywhere". I LOVE that. Also the wood is multicolored and very beautiful. I bought a pair of flip-flops there as well and they had a cute saying on them as well. Their items are pricey so I don't go crazy when I venture in here but I do find fun stuff from time to time. They also have pillows, bed stuff and many other items for sale. Overall, it is a great place to walk through just to check stuff out. I get a relaxed feeling when in here. This is a beautiful little spot in downtown Truckee. The owners are kind and fun to talk to. I bought a beautiful lamp that has become the center of my living room. I also love to stop in for candles or tea towels to change out for the season. I appreciate the attention to details and at Christmas the place always looks so great! My family and I love Gratitudes! Julie and Sue were wonderful to work with. They decorated our vacation home at Northstar. They enjoyed finding pieces for us as much as I loved seeing what they chose. We had such a wonderful time! We continue to love our place. Their attention to detail in their decorating exceeded our expectations. Our unit is warm and feels like home. We also rent our place to others vacationing at Northstar. To start they have really awesome stuff in this store. There were items I had never seen before like the BITCH line of cooking books (which stands for something cutsie), awesome dish towels, and all sorts of other stuff. There was plenty of furniture and other interesting things. The shop is decent sized. The reason for only 4 stars is because the prices are fairly outrageous. My girl said it was because we are near Tahoe, but after living around Malibu and all those trendy spots I have to say they were right there. But great atmosphere and the owner was super nice. Plus in the back they have an excellent selection of cards for all occasions including a bunch of dirty ones which was surprising as hell considering the upscale styling of the store. read more

I use to like this store- still like their inventory but I had a bad experience when I tried to return something for exchange. I was told that the doll I wanted to return was from the fall collection and the owner refused to take it back. That wasn't the worst of it- she also told me that these dolls are very collectible and that I should regift it! If they are so valuable I feel she should have taken it back as she would have a good chance of reselling it, and I thought it was really tacky to suggest I regift it. I won't be going back again any time soon and will also keep all my friends from going in her store as well. read more

This store is located downtown across from the train depot. Hands down it has the most tasteful and unique furniture and decor than any of the other stores in Truckee. Additionally, the store has tons of smaller items that are very affordable for fun gifts. A hidden charm of this great store - THEY HAVE THE BEST SELECTION OF GREETING CARDS IN TOWN - All kinds, funny, classic, and "non-traditional"... I used to LOVE walking into this store...now not so much. While browsing the inventory, we came across other patrons and started chatting it up with them. The topic of our conversation was politics. We were not arguing with each other, but actually discussing news articles, websites, and different media reports on a specific candidate. Who ever was working in the store, told us we were blocking the path, which may have been true and we would have happily moved. However, she proceeded to tell us it was inappropriate to discuss politics in the store and asked us to leave. I have never felt this type of discrimination where my first amendment rights were compromised. I hope this lady working on Aug 3 am was NOT the owner...in fact - I hope the owner reads this review and researches and maybe watches the tape and sees that no disturbance was made. The lady working clearly did NOT like the topic of our conversation and just wanted us out. RUDE service and quite frankly the stuff in the store can be found anywhere online for probably half the price. read more
