I hadn't been to the dentist in over 15 years - like a lot of people - just being lazy about dental care. So surprise, I had an issue that needed treatment. I got a quick appointment which impressed me. What impressed me even more was the cleanliness of the office and the super friendly and professional staff. Just a good vibe in here and everyone seems to enjoy what they're doing. Dr. Goldberg is very personable and has a good sense of humor. Keeps things light as he goes about his business. He also appears to enjoy what he does and he's happy to let you know it. Fortunate to have found the practice and it's always a good experience.

I've had one cleaning and several filling appts so far. His hygenist is the most meticulous person I've ever met. She spent almost an hour carefully cleaning every tooth. I've never had one that spent more than 20-30 minutes max on cleaning. The different was amazing. Then Dr. Chan took digital photos of my problem areas and carefully explained what needed to be done and what to prioritize. He is never pushy and doesn't try to sell extra unnecessary procedures unlike some other dentists. He also gave me great recommendations on better protecting my gum and enamel. The equipment he uses is also state-of-the-art. Everything is electronic. No more traditional X-ray films! The 2 fillings I've had with Dr. Chan were professionally done and I've had no problems with them. Like his hygenist, he is so careful almost to a fault about getting everything right. Most notably, EVERY visit they try to UPSELL for new crown, veneer's or anything to increase their payout. After refusing to proceed with a bridge to gap a rear molar extraction, this dentist proceeded to dig away at a 25 year old filling. After repeatedly refusing crown work she then advises me there is a slight crack in this old filling and it's bound to give me trouble later. THIS FILLING NEVER BOTHERD ME (+25 YEARS) AND WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE FOR MANY MORE YEARS. I guess I gave in to what I assumed was a dental concern but am now questioning her motives as it ALL SEEMS IT's BASED ON MONETARY GAIN and NOT the best interest of the patient. I advised her my dental coverage was to change before the next appointment and SHE ASSURRED ME NO WORK WOULD BE DONE WITHOUT INSURANCE VALIDATION BEFORE HAND. She assumed they covered ALL Tufts dental plans, but come to find out THEY DO NOT. So she proceeded with drilling out what I think was a perfectly good filling and replace it with new tech materials. That's when the fun began. Tufts refused payment of this filling because they're out of network. Now I am stuck with a $420 dental bill for a service I don't even think was needed. I called last week to discuss, and am still waiting (10 DAYS) for the office manager to FINALLY CALL ME BACK on this issue. We visited Dr. Song for a second opinion, and she was immediately at ease. From the start speaking with Theresa who is a wonderful person to be super educated about the process, to meeting Dr. Song, I can't say enough about this practice. I'm going to have a root canal there. Not thrilled. Dr. Song was amazing and putting me at ease by talking to me about what is going to happen. So personable. Although he isn't doing it, they have somebody right in their practice who can do it. I don't have to go somewhere else, and I like that! The office is spotless. The staff, super friendly. If you don't have insurance, they have a membership plan that gives you proper dental care annually. Who does that nowadays? They do. They have all sorts of ways to put you completely at ease while in the chair. I think I'm jumping ship from my current dentist and moving to them full-time. Can't wait! I only can think of one downside. (Not a big one ) They don't accept care credit. Which is what I've used at my previous dentist because dental can be expensive even with insurance ! Had my wisdom tooth pulled, took 30 minutes longer then the dentist ripped it out fast since my medical ride came. The problem is after I asked for medication they stated the doctor don't give out medication and ti take Tylenol. Due ti mt health i cannot take antiflamammatories, so they said Tylenol. Tylenol did nothing and the swelling did not go down, wven though I iced my cheek 7 times a day. Had to go on an emergency medical call due to the fact I could not open my mouth much at all. Doctor gave me steroids to take to help the swelling go down. Got it 2 days later due ti the storm. Today is Friday a week later snd the swelling is finally gone. Spent 5 days not being able to eat anything, barely even yogurt. When I called yo explain what eas going on tk get help, they stated I should set up with my doctor medication I need if I can't take ibuprofen. No one told me prior thats what you usually take. So if I knew I would never have gotten it pulled or reached out to my doctor to get medicine. Still sore 7 days later though not suoer bad. Also got 2 wisdom tooth iut yeara ago and I got medication to take for the first few days. Very disappointed, they knew my medication list and should make sure they clarify that you take ibuprofen after, since not every one like me can do that. Will never get a tooth pulled here again. If you go to Dr Dental for a preventative check up and have BCBS beware they may not charge the visit to your insurance and send the bill to collections without warning.
