Green Scene Lawn & Garden

We hired Greenscene to renovate our backyard, picking up where a previous contractor left off…read more Greenscene Construction built the fence along the south side of our property, a new 8'x8' pergola with a skylight and metal roof, and a sauna pad with larch border and river stone within. Following that, we hired Greenscene Lawn and Garden to install a crushed aggregate driveway with bluestone walking path, backyard sod with mulch borders, garden beds, natural stonework around our pergola and various plantings. Their landscape architect Kali helped us pick out and buid the vision of the plantings. The construction team was great, and although the pergola did leak they were committed to fixing it and eventually completely replaced the substrate and reinstalled the metal roof to guarantee we would not have any leaks. They were very receptive to my punch list requests at the end of the job and fixed everything I asked for. The landscaping team was incredible. They were in and out in 4 days then spent a few extra days buttoning things up. They gave us detailed watering instructions and left sprinklers and hoses for the sod to establish itself, and stopped by to check on the status frequently. We have been thrilled with the service and are looking forward to seeing the plantings coming to life.

When they first furnished the quote to landscape our property, they provided full color pictures of what it would eventually look like. Those pictures, which I still have, look nothing like the end result. No vibrant reds or yellows. A lilac bush which refuses to blossom. We even watered the flowers and vegetation per their instructions. They did a good job laying paving stones around the pool area at the rear of the house and filling gaps with additional stone. But the front and sides of the house are just "blah." No beautiful, colorful flowers bursting forth like the promised photos. Green Scene charges top dollar for their services and we hired them based on neighboring residences and their landscapes. I expected a better result for the price I paid. Live and learn.

They also carry some common garden plants too. Their grounds carry everything from foundational trees and shrubs to easy growing flowers to veggies and fruits. They also have sections organized by Deer Resistant, Veggies, Shade Shrubs, Sun, Partial Shade, Trees, Partial Shade Flowers, etc. It's easy to find your way around, though the staff will gladly help too. I found their nursery to be sizeable but not overwhelming. As someone who is newer to gardening I thought their signage is some of the best I have ever seen- on every plant variety they have a big sign with its common name, genius, zones, size, sun/shade needs, if the plant is native or not, and unique features, along with clear pricing. The signage was useful in making sure the plants would be happy at my home, though all the plants I looked at seemed fairly robust period. I wound up with some shade loving white wood asters, sun loving sunflowers, and brown-eyed susans. While I'm a newbie gardener I think more experienced gardeners would be happy here too given all the options and knowledge at hand. They do have a big commercial/pickup side and offer landscaping and hardscaping services for those who are interested. I thought car parking was easy but I was also visiting towards the end of the end of a day on a weekday.

The best place to purchase native plants! It's so quick and easy to find what you need. I love the…read moresignage and how the plants are organized. However, if I need assistance or have questions, the staff is kind and knowledgeable. The plants are beautiful and healthy.
