Stay away from this company. Do not release your final payment until the work is fully completed…read moreand every promise has been fulfilled--not a moment sooner. Swetha Kumar, who presented herself as the "point of contact," pressured me into making the full payment immediately after the solar installation and then completely disappeared. After receiving payment, there was no communication whatsoever. I signed the contract in May 2025 expecting professional service, but instead faced constant delays, excuses, and misleading information. After months of persistent follow-ups, the system was finally installed in November 2025. What makes this situation even more disturbing is that they knew they were heading toward bankruptcy, yet they still initiated communication with me, continued the project, and collected the full payment without completing the work. I was again pressured into making the final payment before the ESA inspection and meter change were completed, leaving me unprotected. Repeated attempts to contact the company afterward were ignored. When I finally visited their office in person, I discovered it was closed. I later learned they had also failed to pay rent for months, affecting not only customers but their landlord as well. It has become clear that this company has no intention of completing projects once payment is collected. Based on my experience, they appear to shut down and reopen under new names to continue misleading others. Warning: Always conduct thorough research on the company and its owners before signing any agreement or making payments. CMI solar Owner Name: Triveni Singh

CIR is so adaptable- they do schools, large facilities, hospitals, you name it, they've mastered it. Tom and Greg really run a fantastic company there- they should be very proud. There aren't enough stars to express how valuable Paolo, Jordan, Janice, Craig, Gene, and the rest of the CIR Electrical team are! I highly recommend them!

It's been almost a year since my solar install. Some things have been good and one thing really…read moregrinds my gears. The quoting portion was fast. They use REC panels which are the best panels for the dollar. (Best value vs expensive/cheap). They're like buying and expensive panel for a moderate price. Longevity/durability and the fact they meet or exceed their production stays. Installation was fast but then the hoops for connection were not. I got to use my panels 2-3 months after install. The city blamed CIR and CIR blamed the city. Either way I missed out on some nice production months. The bad: I didn't check the inverters used on each panel. I had 425 panels but inverters that capped at under 400. This means my solar panel flattens out instead of being a bell curve and I lose about 2-4kwh a day of production. I didn't catch this until reviewing the final paper work because I ASSUMED they would give me an inverter appropriate for the panels. Prior to this discovery I would have given them high marks and the benefit of the doubt with the city/electrical/utility/ whatever fiasco. However, that's capping not only adds up, but my panels were more expensive than they needed or should have been, which makes it a rip off in my book. So, research not only your panels, but make sure the inverter is appropriate to your panel size. They're the experts and should have done this. They had no remorse or care when I called about this and clearly wanted me to just shit up and go away. So, I did and here's my review. It's unfortunate because I thought they did everything else well, but the lack of care at the end, ownership of a clear mistake, and frankly overcharging for what my final project was has me reducing them all the way to one star.

I have been asked by Solar X to not post a review, but they are not interested in doing anything to change the situation, so why would I not help others see the whole picture? I was letting the system do its thing over the summer months, but was then stunned to actually have to pay money for electricity in August (you are supposed to be racking up $$ in the summer to pay for the winter). First, there are a couple factors in this that are not the fault of the company: 1) you have to pay more than $50/month in electricity delivery fees in Toronto and 2) our usage was 1.5X what their projections were for us over summer, because the previous tenants of our house had left it vacant. However, what we were sold on, and what we paid for, was the actual solar production. In the pitch document that they use to sell you on the system, they provide clear per month projections of output and underneath they say that the projections are 10-15% conservative. Nowhere does it suggest that you should expect less than this. We are well below their estimates every month...based on what their app tells us, and depending on whether I take the high or low end of their projections, we are only hitting 62.5-77.5% of expected production on average per month (May-August). We have a 9.02 kWh system and our output is even below the projections of the 7.38 kWh system that they originally quoted us. The company does not accept responsibility for this and says that they do not guarantee any level of production, pointing to a clause in the service agreement. This is certainly not the impression that anyone would get from their pitch documents, but it is in line with what they told me when our installation was absurdly delayed, pointing to a clause that said they could basically delay as long as they wanted. It is what it is. But if you're considering them as an option, just understand that the numbers they put forward aren't actually meaningful or binding in any sort of way.
