    Chicken St Thomas
    Ro S.

We've been coming here after every NJ Lighthouse Challenge we've participated in. I've raved over the food in the past, but this year, something is different. We had a reservation on the Saturday night at 7:30, it wasn't especially busy, the waitress was wonderful, but the food .... My coconut shrimp was just short of burned. They made another that was perfect (albeit, so sugary I could barely eat it). I was truly amazed that they would send something that burnt out to s patron. Anyway, I ordered the Chicken St Thomas, one of my faves. It literally looked like somebody in a cheap diner just slopped it on to the plate. A mound of thick white, tasteless sauce on rubber chicken cutlets and barely visible spinach on a half pound of linguini swimming in the same sauce at the bottom of the bowl. This "used"to be my go to place. Please, get s new chef, train the one you've got, do something

I took the soggy pizza and froze it in 2 slice packs. In a 450 degree oven I heated it (cooked it) and it was 100% better.

*Sigh* The place looked interesting. The main dining area…read morewas on the second floor, while they had a couple of tables dockside for people who would rather eat with a direct ocean view. The dining area was ok, but had a good view, depending where you are seated. The staff was friendly. However, the gap between the appetizers and the main courses were too long. It was my brother's birthday and he ordered a prefix menu for everyone. For appetizers, We had raw oysters-on-a-half shell, calamari and baked mussels. They were good. Unfortunately, one of our tables didn't receive any oysters. The staff said they ran out. The choices for the main course were butterflied shrimp (4 pieces), Chicken Francese or a grilled pork chop. I picked the pork chop, while my wife picked the chicken. My other brother picked the shrimp. The food was ok. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. For the price my brother paid, you'd expect more. If you picked the shrimp and you were hungry, you'd be unsatisfied. They weren't filling. I don't know if I'd recommend this place or not. The place was busy, though. I guess they have a following.

For starters, it was a little confusing to get inside as a first time visit. Also, there are lots…read moreof steps, but there's also an elevator that you can use.. we got the specialty appetizer which was a goat, cheese, candied, walnut strawberry salad-- that was good. I got salmon, oreganata style, the meal was absolutely delicious. However, the entrées came out pretty quick. The crab looks were also cooked very well. Bread and olive oil are served immediately after seating. The views outside of the window from the restaurant were very nice. And there's a dock that you can drive your boat up to and park outside the restaurant. Our server was great. She had good knowledge of all of the specials and the menu itself. Would definitely recommend going here as the service is great and the food was good.
