We installed a new ductless system in our 35 year old home on the McKenzie River in August of last year. 5 ductless units that required a lot of specialized installation. This company was spot on with everything and their prices were the lowest of my 4 bids. But even if they hadn't been the lowest, I probably would have gone with them anyway, just because of the way Bill approaches his business. The installation was on time, on budget, and everything worked great. We could not have been more pleased. Three weeks later, our home burned to the ground in the Holiday Farm fire. Within days, Bill reached out to express his sympathy and concern - and he offered to refund the profit he made on our project because he didn't feel right profiting from an installation we weren't able to enjoy anymore. We were very appreciative of his offer, but declined. He did a great job and we felt that he deserved whatever profit he had earned. We didn't reconnect with Bill at all the next 6 months - we weren't even thinking about the loss of the ductless units anymore. Then, on March 15th - out of the blue - we received a letter, a heartfelt letter, from Bill about how he's been thinking about us and wanting to do something to help. The letter brought tears to our eyes. Along with the letter was a very generous check. He said that after running all his expenses on the project, he felt that the least he could do was to give us this gift. This was not asked for; not expected; not even imagined on our part. This is the kind of person we should all want to do business with. This goes beyond ethics or integrity or fairness. This was about caring. A few weeks later, when it stopped working (admittedly, it may or may not have been their fault; we had some other electrical issues), Rocky told me the trainee no longer worked for him, so "I will not be able to help you out." So I'm out $185 for labor, and no working doorbell.

This year we had him remove the sun tunnels from the kitchen and replace them with skylights. The sun tunnels do a nice job of letting in light but we wanted to be able to see the sky so we upgraded. Both times Geoffrey was very responsive to our requests, provided timely and fair quotes, did the jobs when he said he would, was very professional and polite and finished everything when he said he would and cleaned up afterwards. His quality of work is excellent. I have recommended him to several friends and he's done work on other homes in our neighborhood after the neighbors saw the improvements in natural light in our home. We recently bought a new house with vaulted ceilings and several skylights already in place…read more However, the house desperately needed a new roof. In the process of working with the best roofing company in town (Evergreen Roofing)... we were referred to Stephen Dyer of Dyer Skylights, here in Eugene. Due to our pitched roof, the installation of skylights, would have been too costly, because of all of the interior drywall that would have to be fabricated to cover the open space in our attic, located between the exterior roof and our interior ceiling. So disappointing - However, Stephen Dyer to the rescue! Due to our budget constraints, he suggested using Solar Tubes in our case. We are from Hawaii, and we had never heard of them there, because Hawaii has an abundance of natural sunlight, and skylights (or solar tubes) are pretty much non-existent there. Anyway, we ordered 6 of them. We waited several weeks before the installation could be scheduled. Imagine our disappointment when all 6 of the solar tube openings in our ceiling had several excessively brights spots in them - kind of like the bright intense light created by a magnifying glass in direct sunlight. Stephen told us he had never seen that effect before, but that he has a 100% satisfaction guarantee, and he said he needed to think about it over the weekend - and he needed to do some research with the manufacturer, early in the following week. Well, he came up with TWO (2) possible solutions, both involving extra parts that would have been quite expensive, if we had been ordering them on our own - but due to his relationship with the manufacturer, and his 100% satisfaction guarantee - there would be NO COST to us if we wanted to choose either OR even BOTH Solutions! Amazing. I've started calling Stephen Dyer the "Genius of Customer Satisfaction!" It turned out that there existed a type of light diffuser he had sampled when it first came out, but that he had had no need for it, and so he had never ordered one. Stephen had six (6) sent out for us to try (at no cost). He also ordered six (6) highly stylized deluxe lens covers that matched some of our existing light fixtures (also at no cost to us). It turned out - that we chose only to use the diffusers. We saw that the deluxe lens covers did a better job of solving our excessive-light problem, but we just loved the modern look of the original factory covers, so we stayed with those, along with the diffusers, which were nicely hidden inside each solar tube. He not only had his workers bring all of these items out for us to try, but he gave us time to consider everything, so we could make the choice that would be best for us. This company is the only company dedicated to Skylights and Solar Tubes that we could fine in Eugene-Springfield. They are truly expert in every aspect of these products, but they also stand behind their products, and they have proven to me that they would NOT stop working on our problem, until they found a creative solution that has completely satisfied us. I highly recommend this company. I found them trustworthy, caring & concerned about our satisfaction. In addition to that - they really know their business. I didn't even mention it above, but during his initial visit, showing us our options, (at no charge) - Stephen really impressed us with his "Keen EYE for Light." He gave us excellent guidance on how many solar tubes to put into each room, and exactly where to place them. In retrospect, he was right on. Perfect Placement & Lighting for our home, via Stephen Dyer's recommendations. I believe that Dyer Skylights is a business we are lucky to have in Eugene.
