I've been going to Dr Wilcox for many years now. He has done a couple of crowns for me and most recently veneers for my 2 front teeth. All the work he has done for me is A++. He is truly skillful at what he does. My 2 front teeth were really worn down and he bonded them to build them back to normal size, let me use them for a couple weeks to make sure the fit was good, before he took a mold of them to create veneers. Everything he does is done right and the fit and color match my real teeth. I feel very re-assured and comfortable when I sit in his dental chair. Dr. Willcox was my dentist for over thirty years. During covid my appointment was canceled and then at the end of the year of 2020 my husband and I needed to move to northern Arizona. Dr. Willcox is a thorough, honest, kind and soft spoken dentist. (And pretty much painless) He would always follow up with me after the hygienist cleaned my teeth. I miss him and his excellent staff. As yet I haven't found a dentist that measures up to him. I am still looking. read more

Best dentist in Pasadena. Hands down. He's the dentist to other doctors. That is medical professional prestige. I even took my mother for some complex work and she has been very happy with his work. They don't push unnecessarily complex dental procedures like root canal, etc. Dr. Wilcox also prefers to avoid anesthetic use where possible. Outstanding staff and highly skilled dentist. I've been seeing Dr. Wilcox for about 7 years and have had an excellent experience. His glowing reviews are well earned. I now have new insurance and have to pick another dentist, but the first dentist I went to wanted to charge me a $240 copay for cleaning my teeth! I spoke to Delta Dental about this and they encouraged me to file a formal complaint, which I have. They then gave me a list of other dentists I could see, but so far I have not been able to find one who doesn't have horrible things said about them online. Despite the fact I now need more work besides cleaning, I am considering paying cash to continue seeing Dr. Wilcox. read more

Dr. Wilcox is hands down one of the best dentists in the Pasadena area. He is more of an artist than a dentist. I came into his office with a need for 9 yes 9 fillings where porcelain wasn't covered by my insurance so I had to pay out of pocket. First off, he truly is amazing at what he does and patient happiness is at the top of his priorities. I had all nine cavities filled within a few months (as fast as I could schedule them) and each one is stronger than ever. His prices for cosmetic dentistry not covered by insurance are spectacular for Pasadena and his service is incomparable - believe me - i searched through 4 dentists before I found Grant - he's truly fantastic. read more

When my previous dentist retired earlier this year, I began my hunt for a new dentist. Dr Willcox came highly recommended and was close to my home so I set up an appointment. On your first visit, you see Dr Willcox for an evaluation. He was very friendly and clearly skilled at what he does. After some x-rays (which didn't make me gag once), I checked out with the receptionist to arrange a time for a cleaning with the hygienist. I have a slightly limited schedule so they needed to follow up with me a few times before we could schedule my cleaning. The staff was great about leaving me messages with open appointment times and got me in quickly. Hygienist was very nice and gave me a thorough cleaning. Dr. Willcox is wonderful, and his staff is great, too. I never had any problems with anyone there. I had several appointments with Willcox. He listened to me, answered all my questions, was always professional and respectful, patient, friendly, etc. He explained everything to me clearly so that I felt informed about what was going on and what my options were with everything. At my request, he removed an old wire that my middle school orthodontist had cemented onto my lower front teeth (to keep them in place, but it was unsightly, because it had 2 metal bars going around my lower canines) and he had a clear plastic (or some other material?) retainer made for me. I now wear that retainer every night and I do not have to deal with the old ugly metal around my lower teeth anymore. Dr. Willcox also filled a small cavity I had. It was my first (and only) cavity ever, so I was a little afraid, but he took care of it, no problem. I also had a cleaning done at Willcox's office and everything went fine with that. A previous dentist (coughArrobiocough) had refused to remove the old metal/wire contraption from my mouth (which had been there for about 15 years!) and he had not explained why. I also overheard him telling his assistants that he was waiting to see if my cavity would get worse!!! So I was very thankful when I found Willcox, because he solved ALL those problems for me. I wish I could still have Dr. Willcox as my dentist, but, unfortunately, I had to move away due do my husband's job. Bottom line, if you are in the Pasadena area and you need a dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Willcox! read more

Yes, Dr. Willcox is a FIVE STAR dentist. My dream was to have my teeth look and feel as good as they did 25 years before. He spent quite a lot of time with me, talking, taking photos and measurements and pages of notes. He worked out a dental rehab plan for me, just for me exclusively, not a cookie cutter plan but a plan conceived from his vision, as well as practicality and the final result was extraordinary. First, my gums had to be even out, sculpted so they were even on both sides. Dr. Willcox sent me Dr. Morishita at Pasadena Periodontal Assoc. Dr. Morishita did a procedure referred to as "scalloping" or making them even on both sides of my mouth. He did a perfect job but I had to be patient and let the healing take place until I could return to Dr. Willcox. My gums healed quickly and were bright, pink and oh so even so I returned to find out the next step from Dr. Willcox. HE IS INDEED AN ARTIST! . I brought him an old "smiling" photo of myself and he duplicated the size, the shape, the lines, and I did get my teeth looking as good, if not better than 25 years ago. ONLY A TRUE ARTIST COULD ACCOMPLISH THAT ! I now wear my mouth guard to bed every night because the thought of grinding my teeth and harming my lovely "teeth by Willcox" is unthinkable. Dr. Willcox is a patient, methodical, kind and a very talented caring dentist. QUESTION: When was the last time you fell asleep in a dentist chair? I was referred to Dr. Wilcox by a good friend who grew up in Pasadena. She said EVERYONE she knows goes to him. That was 3 years ago. Every time I visit the office I am treated promptly and with respect and experience NO pain. He is a gentleman and is careful to explain clearly all of your options clearly. Great staff, very nice dentist. I'd put off dental work for several years before deciding to try Dr. Willcox. I had some reasonably intense work done (fillings replaced, crown replaced, bite adjustment.) Now I go for a cleaning every 6 months like clockwork because it's a stress-free experience in that office. Dr. Willcox is very skilled and professional. Unlike some other dentists I've been to, he doesn't pressure you to get work done. His attitude seems to be more: "let's watch this," or "we don't need to do anything unless you have X symptom." read more

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Willcox for at least 20 y ears and we have always been so happy. The loyal staff is so nice and Thelma, one of the hygenests is the best!
