They accommodated working people, they were prompt and attentive. You'd actually see them walking the property, there was a face to the voice over the phone. However, in the last 5-6 years there have been at least 3 "property managers" who do anything but manage (ie: dying trees that are collapsing, with falling branches; "management" waits until something happens to address the issue. Painting the unit doors white (from maroon), against beige siding--gross aesthetic. Allowing large, LARGE dogs when initially this was a "no dogs" property, then changed over to "service pets", then "under 35 lbs"....now it's a free for all with dogs urinating and pooping right outside my window, and maybe yours too if you choose to live here. Allowing share holders to dispose "political" polarizing flags in their windows). Where's the "managing" of the property? I don't even know what the last 3 "managers" looked like, which shows how non existent they are. The groundskeepers and maintenance staff are very good -- Einsidler should save a couple of bucks and get rid of the "property manager" and just keep the maintenance people.

Recent Experience At The Chalet - BEWARE! Background: My wife and I are senior citizens and native…read moreNew Yorkers. We relocated back to Long Island to be near family in our Senior Years 9/15/24. We met with the building manager, who gave us a tour of the building and the available 2 BR/2 bath apartment (which we subsequently leased). At no time during the "tour" did she mention major construction was underway in the apartment directly above ours. After moving in, we were immediately subjected to the loudest construction noise i've heard outside of NYC construction sites. We're talking major reconstruction of wood flooring, which sounded like someone was hacking the floor with sledgehammers. The noise continued daily from our move-in date until the present day (2 months later), with no end in sight. I am an insurance adjuster, and work remotely, so during my conversations with clients, some of them asked if I was working in a salt mine. That's just the beginning - last week, I discovered a mouse roaming around my office. I was able to trap it, and then reported it to the "property manager", who send 2 maintenance men up to set mouse traps. Unfortunately, they caught another mouse the next day. So, we insisted they send an exterminator up to resolve the issue. He did patch several holes where the mice were entering (which should have been done before we moved it), but that didn't solve the issue, as we found 2 more mice in over the next week. To date, the issue has not been resolved. The final straw was today, Tuesday, 11/5, when I walked out of the apartment to take a walk and noticed the strong aroma of smoke. I went down to the lobby, and sure enough, there were fire engines and ambulances in the lot. Yep, a fire had broken out in the laundry room. But, the fire alarms in the building never sounded! So, if I hadn't happened to leave my apartment at 1:00 p.m. I never would have known there was a fire 1 floor below our apartment. No staff or maintenance reps ever knocked on any doors to alert residents. And there are a lot of elderly residents in the building. Summary: If you intend to rent an apartment at The Chalet, be prepared for in attentive management, dangerous living conditions, and a general lack of concern for residents

Tenants can smoke weed inside the building which I find disrespectful and rude. They don't give heat at night like they supposed to and on the coldest days of the year there is no heat at all. My apartment has been mouse invested several times. The people that work for Milbrook properties are not the nicest. I have roaches and waterbugss in my apartment. The water that comes out the bathroom tub is sometimes is brown. The walls in the apartments look terrible.

Ongoing elevator problems, essential services and amenities being taken offline, unresolved pest issues, and inconsistent heat have all become part of daily life. Communication is poor with no updates. Debra kaplan is a snake who avoids responsibility and is extremely rude to tenants on the phone. For the amount of rent being charged, this level of management is unacceptable. If you're considering a building run by HSC Management, proceed with caution.
