Dermatology of Santa Fe's response to my inquiry was that I should wait and see what is billed to me. I explained that I can't take the chance that something I'm used to paying $100 would be billed at $500 and asked if she could check on the cost. I suggested to her, "don't you know the price you bill services at?" Her reply was, "no, I'm sorry I can't help you." In my view this is bad customer service and it suggests unfair billing procedures are being practiced here. Beware.

The office staff was very professional. I was seen by a PA, Timothy. Instead of the typical rushed visit, he took as much time as I wanted, and explained thoroughly. Apparently, about 3 weeks prior to this, we had accepted a cancellation slot so he could see the doctor sooner, but the appointment date on the intake paperwork never updated to reflect that change. When the staff member called to inform me he had missed his appointment, she said, "The doctor doesn't want to see him anymore because he has a strict no-show policy. You owe a $50 no-show fee." That policy would actually be fine if the correct appointment date had been communicated so we could show up when expected. Most clinics call or text to confirm an appointment a day or two in advance, but this place did not. It was very unprofessional and rude. No wonder there are so many 1-star reviews.

So, once again, I was lied to about the service I would be provided. My suggestion would be to avoid this clinic. If they aren't able to honestly represent what they can offer, it makes me wonder about the quality of care.

I'd rather not have to deal with a problem at all than to deal with a problem after it comes up. He has helped me with so much. He has helped me deal with my sever generalized anxiety disorder, severe issues with my fibromyalgia, . I have suffered from chronic pain my entire life. It's gotten so bad that when I originally went to Unity Medical I was unable to properly walk without a wheelchair. I would have days where I could walk, but I always needed help with doing basic things in life like showering. Without Unity Medical I would not have good quality of life. I owe them everything. My debt of gratitude is great for not just Dr. Kastendieck, but the entire staff. They have help me through a lot over the past 10 years. Unity Medical has been good not just for me, but for my entire family, because of them now I can help family instead of them helping me all of the time. I could stay, and pay the concierge prices but what service am I getting for the additional out of pocket? My last three visits I've noticed a significant decline in customer service at the reception area. The practice manager is downright rude. And, they will not submit claims as an out of network provider so I'd have the privilege of taking on their administrative work. I thought with Botox you were supposed to start out low and then come back for touch ups. But no that damned lady wanted all my money.
