My mother long had anxiety and was on meds for it before she was even ill. When Miami Jewish transferred her care to their "in house" hospice care, Seasons, the doctor was an animal who would not allow her to have her anxiety meds. We kept trying to get her doctor who now was no longer her doctor because she was in Seasons care to tell them how much this helped her. There was no reason to make my mother's last four days on this earth so horrifying and her final words to me were "What did I ever do to you that you are letting them treat me this way?" I am haunted all the days of my life. We filed a complaint with Miami Jewish and I don't know if they are on the premises there any longer, but use Seasons Hospice nowhere!!!!!

We chose them because they sounded like they were going to make sure our mom had the care she would need when she needed it and would keep us updated on her status since we could not visit because she was dying of covid. We just wanted to make sure she was comfortable and pain free in her last few days. Imagine not being able to be with your mom and hold her while she dies. Now imagine that your told that the hospice nurse would give your family updates at least once a day and you didn't hear a peep from them. That's what we got from seasons. And excuses. And when called, your call goes straight to voicemail. It's unthinkable and heartbreaking. I was able to speak to the nurses at the hospital to get status updates on my own, they didn't forward my calls to voicemail. The only thing I'm grateful for is that we didn't have to deal with this shameful business for long because mom passed away quickly.

In all honesty due to my situation with my dad meaning our relationship I don't fully think they cared or understood my side of the story. It was heartbreaking and very emotional for me to learn that my dad was dying while we were trying to heal- mend our relationship. I did kind of lash out and recommend a family member to take over because it was too much for me in that moment it was just a lot of what people needed me to do and get send and my dad wasn't even dead yet from his family members. I was trying to express this to VITAS Healthcare. When I tried to come back around and ask questions, I was blown off because I said contact another family member. This was too much for me, especially being the only child. I didn't feel any compassion or understanding it was just your requested for us to talk to a different family member so now you reach out to that family member. I pray to God that they never lose a parent, especially them being the only child in their parent was as stray and came around, but was very ill and they don't have to deal with this and be blown off due to their emotions. When you work in the healthcare field, you have to understand all angles emotions, and situations. I would never blow someone off. I will try to help them as much as I can or give them any resources that they need in all honesty. I was very disappointed and my feelings were very hurt. I truly cannot say enough about the compassion, professionalism, and dignity they brought during such an important and difficult time in our lives. My sincere apologies if I unintentionally miss anyone who played a role in his care-- every single person made a meaningful difference. A special thank you to the manager, Mark from Team 142, who was exceptional in addressing my father's unique needs and ensuring everything was handled seamlessly. I am also deeply grateful to Dr. Nagy for her guidance, support, and expertise throughout this journey. The home health aides--Margarita, Francia, and Kenesha--were outstanding. They cared for my father with incredible kindness, patience, and attentiveness, always ensuring he was comfortable and treated with the utmost dignity. Several members of the staff went above and beyond by sending flowers, following up with phone calls, and even visiting my mother. These gestures meant so much to our family, and we are incredibly grateful. Their understanding and gentle approach were especially meaningful given the challenges of dementia care, and their warmth brought a sense of peace into our home. The nursing team--Fanere, Yoenia, and Serge--were equally remarkable. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and skill gave us complete confidence in my father's care. They consistently went above and beyond, patiently answering our questions and adapting to his needs with compassion and expertise, ensuring his comfort and well- being every step of the way. Chaplain Milla provided truly meaningful emotional and spiritual support. Her presence brought comfort, reassurance, and calm to our family, helping us navigate this time with strength and grace. Together, this incredible team created an environment of care that was not only clinically excellent but deeply compassionate. Their dedication, kindness, and humanity made an immeasurable difference in my father's final days. We are forever grateful for the care, respect, and love they showed our family. Given the dignity and compassion my father received, I wholeheartedly recommend VITAS Healthcare to anyone in need of hospice care. Imran Khan

The entire team was great, very professional, experienced, and compassionate with both the patient and our family members. They also respond quickly to emergencies, all of them were very accessible and supported every time I reached out to them during that time of need. I am very grateful to Dr. Hernandez Cancio-Bello, he was very kind, very talkative and outspoken, the main Nurse Yasmine Rodriguez Rios who she visited my dad a few times per week, paying attention of my dad's vital signs, etc. and she was part of the family, like another daughter for him, taking care of everything he needed. The Chaplain Eliseo Seme Santiago who brought happiness and psychological support to my dad through his reflections and music, the Social Worker Yazmin Ale who answered my calls, guided me, and clarified any doubt for me. Every single person that came to my dad's house was not only extremely qualified but truly cared, including the 24 hrs. nurses like Jose Maria Redondo who was attentive to all my dad's needs. I had good experiences as well with the hospice equipment company "Life health Care Services", when the oxygen concentration machine it was broken, they replaced it, as soon as they could the same day. I highly recommend all of them. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, for all your help and support. Grisel Rebollar.

The same way I once took my time to write a positive review, today I am writing to express my deep…read moredisappointment with this company. I want to make it clear that this review is not about the staff, but about management. This organization presents itself as a Catholic hospice, and as a Catholic myself, I find the treatment of faithful employees deeply upsetting and not aligned with the values God calls us to live by. As Colossians 3:12-17 reminds us: "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Today I learned that after 18 years of lovingly caring for patients, Laura resigned because of issues related to pay and treatment. Laura had a gift -- she could turn my grandmother's saddest and most difficult days into moments filled with smiles, laughter, and peace. That kind of compassion cannot be taught, and it certainly should not be undervalued. This service is funded by the Archdiocese, yet the way loyal employees are treated does not reflect the core values the organization claims to uphold. I am now seriously reevaluating whether to continue with this hospice company and considering moving my grandmother to another organization where employees are treated not as numbers, but as human beings who deserve care, respect, and dignity. Because if compassion and love are not practiced within the company itself, how can they truly be passed on to the patients and families they serve? A valuable lesson to remember: the people out in the field caring for patients are the heart of the company -- not the ones sitting behind desks disconnected from the human impact of their decisions.

Back then as a medication technician at night I was made responsible for a whole building without an RN on site, that was out of my scope of work for me to take it on. I was told the RNs constantly quit hence we were stuck. Today 11/8 @ 10:15 am when shopping at Costco, I run into Daniel, he verbally assaulted me with offensive antisemitic remark (evil Jew) for the review I put on him, insulted my diseased mother and more. We all are entitled to our reviews and I personal experience. Working there under Daniel team was a nightmare. Many said it but no one came forward, felt bullied to tell on my very nice co workers and I was not going to ever do that. I did quit and tried to escalated that with HR and the director of nursing, in my personal observation they couldn't care less. In the past my con workers warned me that escalating this was going to be a team of 3 and never anything was going to change . For the records we were so short staffed that in any given night 911 had to be called for constant falls. I don't know if they changed that. It is a shame to the elders they are supposed to look after but with all fairness to my co workers who were hard working people, how much one CNA can take on????

The Sterling Aventura is a top-quality facility with a caring, dedicated, and professional staff…read more The property is modern, clean, pleasant, and bright. The lobby actually feels like a nice hotel. It has a wide variety of common areas, including an outdoor courtyard, an entire floor for resident activities, a movie room (theatre) and new apartments for the residents. There is an activities schedule with events from morning until night, 7 days a week. I met with Mark Monaghan, Director of Sales and Marketing. Ever since my first moment with Mark on the initial tour and meeting, I felt comfortable and encouraged. Mark is a true professional with passion and integrity. He guided our family every step of the way through multiple meetings, assessments, and laid out a solid plan for the transition of my mother to an ALF. He is a true leader, and a genuine person who shows how much he cares about families, Things got even better when Mark introduced me to the staff he works directly with. Flavie, the Assistant Director of Nursing assessed my mom, and guided us medically through the transition. Flavie is also genuine and passionate about caring for the residents and communications with the family. Karen, who is the move in coordinator and Mark's assistant was a huge help to us in setting up the apartment and preparing us for move in day. On the actual move in day, she was with my mom and I from start to end. She was great at making our transition smooth, and even gave me her cell phone number, which we communicated on regularly, both pre and post move in day. Daniel, the Activities Director took things to another level on day 1 and forward. He interviewed my mom to know her personality, initiated getting her involved in activities right away, introduced her to residents she is now becoming friends with, and contacts me about her progress. Marc-line is one of the main servers in the dining room. I personally spent over 25 years in Foodservice and Management and have met very few wait staff as pleasant and friendly as her. It was apparent from the very first night when I joined mom for dinner, that Marc-line absolutely loves her position and working with the residents to give great service and enhance the dining experience. Dimitry works at the front desk, and he is another person from The Sterling that stands out for being excellent. He is the first person a resident or guest encounters upon entering the property. He is kind, caring, and professional in all his communications, and made us feel welcome. Conclusion: The Staff at The Sterling are high level professionals who really care about their positions and their relationships with the residents. I am happy my family chose The Sterling for this next chapter of my mother's life.
